I was in the area leaving from getting a facial next door. I decided to try out Protein Bar. Walking in it was very clean with a modern touch. I loved the pop of orange, made it seem vibrant. There is plenty of free parking so that's always a plus. Walker in I was greeted and placed my order. Service was quick and I didn't have to wait long for my order. I had a vegan version of The Perk--it was fine. Not great though. I'm particular about my protein shakes. The texture was uneven. Because they added ice-/which I hate in shakes and smoothies--some parts would melt and it tasted like watery chocolate protein powder. The flavor was okay. It was definitely edible, but I wouldn't get it again. The protein content (according to the menu) was good. But I'm not sure if making it vegan changed that. This place is fine if you're kind of in a hurry to get some quick protein. It might have tasted better if I didn't make it vegan. I use to enjoy the food at protein bar. I was there the other day getting a buffalo wrap with chicken. After a couple bites I noticed the chicken was kind of fatty looking and a dark color. I kept pulling pieces out because it was disgusting. After maybe two more bites I threw the whole thing away because it was gross. I asked the manager if you are using dark meat which he did not understand what I meant. Then I explain to him about chicken breast and he said oh we just changed it last night. I asked him why didn't you say something when I ordered it. He's telling me that protein bar brought somebody in and told them that the dark meat was just the same as the chicken breast. I am on weight watchers and I want to tell you that's not the same. Dark meat is a fatty meat. The manager did not even ask me if I wanted some thing else. I basically told him I'll never come back after he didn't even offer me anything. My experience at this eatery was fabulous. The place was spacious and very clean. I went on a Sunday and was quickly serviced by a friendly cashier named Oyuki. I ordered the Healthy Club Salad, which consisted of chicken, kale, turkey bacon, avocado, red onions, tomato, and Greek yogurt ranch dressing. It was plentiful, fresh, and delicious.
