The owner, Joey, as always (utilized his services since 2020), was able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and explain in detail the issues I had, minimal that they turned out to be. There was no charge for the service and he did not try to up sale me when discussing using manufacturer parts (new battery-hard drive working as designed), not the unknown brand parts, if I wanted. Amazing customer service! After 9 years of mostly reliable performance, my trusty old Dell Studio XPS 8000 suddenly went completely dead, absolutely no sign of life whatsoever. In a panic, I contacted Dell customer service, which confirmed my worst fears--this ancient relic is beyond salvation. The Dell rep insisted that my only recourse was to scrap this computer and buy a new one. Fortunately, I found ProTech with glowing reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try, hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I brought my dead Dell to ProTech and within 10 minutes, Joey diagnosed the problem as a worn out power supply. He told me he would order a new one and would have it back in operation in less than 24 hours. True to his word, my Dell is back up and running like new less than 24 hours later. $80 for a new power supply + $25 labor is more than reasonable and sure beats the cost of a new computer. read more

Outstanding! Joey helped me out when my ASUS computer quit. He even took it home for the weekend to try to figure out why it was giving him different error messages. On Monday when I called, he said it had to be the motherboard :-( But it was six years old. When I showed up at his store with an external drive to copy things, to he suggested he pull the hard drive and put it in an external case so that I can actually access it on my new computer as a separate drive. Mr. Wu is a very smart, non-judgmental person. His background is awesome and he wants you to get the best deal and bang for your buck. I bought a new computer from eBay and took it to him. This time I contacted them before Christmas and they were busy but they added me to the queue. Followed up the next week and they were still busy. I went to ProTech based on Yelp reviews for an iMAC HDD replacement. The owner turns out is a fellow UCSD Engineering Alumnus- so I knew I was in the right place! He diagnosed my iMAC's hard drive failure and replaced it, including a full interior cleaning within a day, as promised. I took my MacBook Pro here after I had spilled a little water on it (the computer shut down). I had made an appointment with the Apple Store but online the estimated amount it would take to repair my laptop would've been around $600-$700. I decided to take it here first and I'm so glad I did.
