Super honest shop. I feel like an idiot as I brought my iPhone 12 Pro with a cracked screen to get repaired today. I dropped the phone off and went out for lunch. When I returned the gentleman at the shop showed me I actually had a glass screen protector and a second film screen protector on the phone. And the reality was that the glass screen protector under the film was cracked.....not the phone screen at all. He was super honest and didn't charge me anything. I handed down my Nexus 6P to my daughter after her phone died. She loves the phone but the battery started going down hill quickly. Last week she was out of juice at 3 p.m. when she really needed to make a call. I decided to shop around for a place that could replace the battery in this phone. Using Yelp I asked a few places about replacing the battery and for a cost estimate. Zaki from Skyland responded within a few minutes. His price was great and he ordered the battery right away. Within a couple of days he called that the battery had arrived. We drove over to the store and they professionally installed the battery within the hour. The phone now lasts all day long, just like brand new. Bonus: I checked in with the Yelp application and received both a 10% discount on the battery replacement as well as a second discount for a future purchase. I am a very happy camper. The second I heard the plop and *expletive* emanate from my significant other I knew that a bill would be in our futures. Of course the options of simply buying a new phone and repair are going to be put at odds. Hundreds of dollars and other financial obligations versus shiny/new and of course I deserve at odds with one another. Still, in the end we decided we should at least give repair a fair attempt. With the previous place we took our devices for repair no longer available we tried Skyland repair. We dropped off our device and they said they'd get back to us in a few days. Ultimately they told us what was necessary to repair the phone and it was not worth it unfortunately. No charge for the attempts and diagnosis from Skyland. I don't plan on breaking another device but I'm sure the time will come again. When it comes, I'll be sure to try Skyland again! read more

I made it a almost a whole year with a loaner phone only to drop it just days after ordering my new phone. Since I had to give the old phone back, I had to have my screen repaired. What luck, or clumsiness rather. Enter Skyland Repair. They are conveniently located on Poway Road, in a little strip mall with nothing exciting near it. The shop itself is exactly how it should be. No nonsense, no frills, but tons of cell phone accessories to browse through. I was helped by a friendly associate, who I believe was Z. He quoted me about an hour to fix my fully shattered iphone 6, and my son's iphone 5. Since no one else was in the shop, he actually finished in about half an hour while we waited. He gave us bottled water too. How thoughtful. While I can't remember exactly how much he charged us for both phones, and a pop socket, I do remember it was super reasonable, and on top of that, he gave us a discount. I so appreciate that when I brought my phone into Skyland that I got a thorough evaluation of the issue going on with my phone. What appeared to be a cracked glass on my camera turned out to be a bigger issue with the motherboard (or whatever it was called). He spent probably an hour on the phone looking into it but didn't charge me a cent. It was nice to know that he wouldn't charge me for something he couldn't fix, in spite of the time he spent on it.
