Great beer served in mugs sized from 3 oz flight glasses to the 1 liter mas! They don't do food except for pretzels but are cool with you bringing in your own. I just wish a better food truck would park outside. I forget who was out on Friday (the beer might have made my memory a little fuzzy) but the food wasn't that good. read more

It is off the beaten path, unfortunately, which I believe contributes to not getting as many customers as it's "neighbor" which I believe is way overrated. Great experience! If you're looking for a vast array of beers, perhaps it's not the place for you. With that said, what they do offer is wonderful. We met friends (and their children) here for dinner and drinks while vacationing in Colorado. The food truck outside provided the meal which you can eat inside the brewery. All of us, including four small children, enjoyed the atmosphere (adults enjoyed the beverages), and the kids loved that there were so many other kids and dogs in the establishment. We met lots of friendly folks, staff and patrons both, during this trip. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area! read more

We stopped by Prost on our way to a baseball game and had a great time. It's in a good location--easy access off the interstate and close to downtown. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and didn't mind answering the multitude of questions asked by my companions, two would-be master brewers. For a first time visit the sampler is the way to start. The Dunkel was my favorite. We did have one non-beer drinker in our group and even she was happy with the recommendation of the server to mix the Hefeweisen with lemon soda--tasty! read more

It has taken me awhile to review this place because I really wanted to give it a good review. But after my fourth visit I am inclined to give up and give them 2 stars. I was really excited for this place to open since it is about 8 blocks from where I live. Unfortunately, it is not my local brew hangout, not due to the quality of the beer but due to the poor service. The staff members at the bar just kind of suck. They are slow and make it seem that it is such a chore to wait on you. It would be nice to hear "Hi, how's it going? Do you know what you would like to drink?', or 'Hi, I will be right with you. " Forget about asking them a question about the beer. Maybe I visited this place at four off times. However, when the exceptionally poor service took place, it was not very busy at all. The last time, which was the tipping point for the review, there were only 5 people sitting at the bar. The guy didn't even ask me what I wanted and he just said "Yeah." I felt bad for the couple next to us because they were not beer enthusiasts and wanted a very easy, light beer to drink and the guy behind the bar was a bit snobby. I like the setup of the place and enjoy the community tables but I feel that the men's restroom is way too small for the size of the place. Now, I will admit though, the beer is good. I would recommend it to other people to let them decide on their own if it is worth their while to be a return customer or not. With that said, I would highly recommend Denver Beer Company over Prost to anyone that would ask me which one to visit. Bummer! read more

Their pilsener is the best in the state of Colorado. Their Marzen (Oktoberfest) is a step behind Paulaner's. If you favor German beer, this is the place for you. As a homebrewer and beer snob, I give the beer 5/5 stars. While I like the unique ales that some breweries do, this is just basic good beer. Very strict to the German styles. Downside is that there growlers are prefilled. If done right, can last a while before being opened...but they had some that were bottled almost 4 months ago. I go to breweries to get fresh beer. This is the only brewery I have seen (yet) that prefills. Give the place a try...you will enjoy! read more

If you're looking for an authentic german brewhouse, this is your place! The beers are great, I prefer the Dunkel and my girlfriend likes the Kolch. The patio is really nice with stellar views of downtown. A big plus is how local this place is. It doesn't have the 'fame' that Great Divide and Denver Beer Co has, and as a result it isn't packed all the time. Still, the people are friendly and the brewhouse seating encourages you to chat up with your neighbor. I'd definitely suggest this place on either your brew tour, or hangout spot. read more

This place is good as long as you don't try to go on Sunday evening. They run out of beer and the food trucks leave much earlier than the website claims. We've planned on going there for dinner and drinks on multiple Sundays with friends only to arrive at 7 to find the food truck closing and the good beers tapped out. read more

Ok, being of German descent, I am biased. But the beer is just great. I am a Zwickelbier (aka Kraeusenpils) fan. Prost does them as good as they come, very much in line with the best Germany has to offer (and let my belly testify that I have tried a lot of them). It is also the only place that I know that serves the Duesseldorf Altbier (think Urige) and Koelsch in the same place. If a place near Cologne or Duesseldorf did this, they would be burnt to the ground within hours. Now they even have an IPA that is right there with the best of them. Now, the Maibock has gone wrong... tastes like they had left-over Maerzen and added some sugar to make Maibock. Come-on... you know better! Cool staff and always up for a good chat. I recommend riding your bike or taking the light rail to Union station. Parking is a challenge and you can never stay with just one :) Shout-out to Tony Guacamole food truck... they've got the goods! And the Baker Street Prezels are great too... I recommend you ask for them to be microwaved for a few seconds (20-25), instead of being put into the toaster oven... much more yummy! Have not been when they have the food trucks but this place is fun with a lot of communal tables. The beer is delicious and they are winners for sure( GABF winners ) and I totally understand why. If your grabbing a beer in down town you need to hit up Prost! I will have to make it back in when there's food though. I Could use some grilled items or a burg right now. I was beyond excited to try this new brewery featuring German style beers. Like Lacey, I have a German maiden name as well. Unfortunately, I disliked three of the four tasters in the sampler (though I did loooove the dunkel, a super delicious dark lager), but luckily I tried someone's pint of Tivoli and that was just awesome. While I can appreciate the new crop of breweries that have popped up around town, most of them feature many varieties of beer that I don't love (multiple types of IPAs, wheat beers and now Belgian ales, saisons, etc...which do not yet float my drinking boat). Prost is doing something extremely cool and different, which is re-releasing beers from Denver's past, like the Tivoli, a helles. I read before visiting that they have purchased the rights and recipes to five or six other historical beers from our fair city, but they are rolling them out one at a time. Back then, there were more lagers, pilsners, bocks, doppelbocks and altbiers. Why did they all disappear? Who knows, but I wish they hadn't. In addition to the beer at Prost, I liked the big communal tables, the view of the city from the outdoor tables, the perfectly chewy and salty pretzels for sale, the wood sampler holders and the friendly servers who actually roam around the tables offering to bring more beers rather than making each person go back to the bar. Mostly I am excited to see something new happening with the beer scene in Denver, and appreciate the unique goals of this new lil neighborhood brewery. The information about the tours is not the same as what they offer in the actual brewery. I tried calling earlier in the day and there was no answer, so I just made reservations online for the tour. When we got there we were greeted by bartenders who felt we were an inconvenience to them and were less than friendly. After finally figuring out the discrepancy, Jameson took us on a tour. He is the reason they are even receiving stars. He is knowledgeable and entertaining. The guy knows his stuff! read more

Please note, this is an average rating based on a place we absolutely adore in our neighborhood. Prost Beer and Service = 5 stars; German Food truck parked and partnered with Prost = 1 star for absolutely terrible kitchen management and food service. We went to Prost to take in a World Cup match. As usual, great people, amazing atmosphere and great service from the folks at Prost - totally consistent with every other visit. Then, we decided to get food...ordered just after kickoff and it took over an hour for 2 brats, a side of fries and fish and chips. We weren't the only hour-plus order waiting for food. Given the busy day, 30-40 minutes wouldn't be an unreasonable wait, but the two guys working the truck were clearly in the weeds and weren't communicating well with customers. Telling multiple customers that their food would be up in "5 minutes max" when it was a minimum of 20 (after already waiting 30-40 minutes), is just adding fuel to the frustrating fire. Next time, guys, stop taking orders every 30 minutes, take a 10-minute break to get your communication, expediting and ticket management under control and be honest with your customers on wait time. This was a miss on the basics of customer and food service. You can do much better and I hope you take this to heart. read more
