He exclaimed a minimum of 2 men are required and it will take all day! REALLY? His estimate to CLEAN the debris from the roof gutters (3 sides) came to $750! REALLY? Honest business here? I then asked him what it would cost to clean my next door neighbor's roof gutters so that I can capitalize of some economies of scale here. The estimator then lowered his price to $450/house. REALLY? To make a long story short, I went with a STATEN ISLAND guy that gave me quote over the phone after sending in my house pic and he quoted me $175/house!!!! Bill and his crews did a great job of fixing the roof leak! It hasn't been leaking so far after the fix on 12/6/2021. Although they are not the cheapest among the vendors offering to fix the roof, they were very responsive, offered a great quality of work and a 10 years warranty! While all the other contractors I talked to needed at least 2 - 4 weeks before actually fixing it, Bill did the inspection himself and was able to schedule the work in about 3-4 days! His crews, Mario and another man who can't speak much English took just 1 day to install the new valley membrane and finish all the patching. And they cleaned up all the garbage promptly. There were only 2 things I was a little bit concerned about, which Bill promptly and patiently answered. (1) It's a bit cloudy/rainy on 12/6, so I was worried that might affect their work and was wondering if Bill wanted to reschedule. But Bill, based on his experience, assured me that they would be able to finish the work before the rain, and it shouldn't have any impact. (2) It's stated on the contract that the valley roofing material will be "new Firestone roofing with black mineral surface", but eventually what's installed is "Firestone SBS White". Bill explained that the white one would be a better fit because a silver coating is needed for the black one, and with Firestone SBS White, the silver coating is not needed. I am really glad and appreciate that Bill took the time to patiently and promptly address my concerns, and explained everything thoroughly to me! And he is very flexible with the payment methods as well! Overall, Bill and his teams did an awesome job! Thank you very much for the hard work! Asgar won out for having the best combination of attention to detail and reasonable cost. His crew was professional and efficient, and they were able to complete the job before the cold set in. Waterproofing is all about how long it lasts, of course, so we had a little hiccup when we noticed some waterproofing flaking off in one section in the spring. Once Asgar heard, he was back out to take care of it, so I've got to give him credit there. We did have some miscommunication around what days/times it was OK for his crew to perform work; it can be difficult to be certain we're on the same page at times. But we've happy with the work and the cost, and if we had to do it over again, we'd stick with them.
