I have made several attempts to get Jullian Back here to go over issues with my roof that was done last spring. I have a historic "Queens Mark home" from the beginning we had a conversation about improper installation of plywood and damage done to house moldings, overhangs, and gutter. I discussed flashing issue due to 3 levels of shingles and gap between house and roof. If you recall the new crew came and had to rip the plywood off and start again. One part of the team left proper overhang while the other part of the team started laying down the plywood with no overhang again. They never laid new ice shield underlayment, never replace roof vent, didn't replace a leader pipe ( I had to give them a piece!) installed chipped shingles and didn't flash properly ( now have a leak condition) I would like to have these items addressed. requestEd return call several time. read more

TERRIFIC JOB! Replaced our 70 year old 2,000 square foot slate roof with GAF Timberline HDZ Shingles...several estimates and my choice was easy after meeting with Elber from JC Master Inc. They finished all the work in one day and it came out beautifully. Working with this business was seamless and easy. I don't think I have had a better experience working with a contractor yet. Had my siding and partial roof done in July. Work was completed and job came out very good. My complaint is they made a mess with roof flashing tar on my pavers in the backyard. Tried to remove it with WD40 and gasoline which did not work and only left the pavers dual with a white sheen. Promised they would setup someone to come back to power wash the pavers and attempt to clean them properly. Over a month and I have not heard back from the company. Multiple calls and text messages to the owner and they have not had the decency to return my call. Against my best judgement I paid them for the job when I should have held some of the payment back until they cleaned as promised. I should know better. read more

Called on a Tuesday to get 6 windows capped, made an appointment with me to be there on Saturday. Texted on Thursday just to confirm with no response from the company. Called the following day on Friday to confirm that they will be coming the next day like they scheduled. When I spoke to them he said they will be there. Saturday morning came and went . I called and the guy said ooo he's not there ? Let me call him and get right back to you. 4 hours went by, I called him back he said let me call and find out and I'll call you back. Beware of this company! We had the siding done by this company and they put the wrong edging for siding so water has been collecting in those places and they did not caulk in the areas they needed to (Bc I had someone come and inspect). The windows are flush against the siding in certain places and others are not and popped out more. Very, very sloppy and careless job. Caulking is terrible again very sloppy and cut corners in a bunch of places so the whole job is just a huge mess. They rush and use people who don't know what they are doing, obviously. The used edging for places where they needed to use different edging to allow water to get out and not accumulate. But what they used leaves water in to damage my house. Now I will need to spend more money to fix their mistakes. Trust me don't use JC or your home will be damaged and you will need to pay more money to hire someone who actually knows what they are doing to fix JC's mistakes. Your home will look like sh*t! After receiving several new roof house estimates, JC & Sons Home Improvement was selected to install a new roof for this Brooklyn single family home.  Throughout the process, care and protective measures were taken regarding the neighbors homes.  Initially, I considered a partial roof "patch" for the front section of the house.  However, a friend who recommended JC & Sons, suggested replacing the entire roof instead of sections, which was a BRILLIANT recommendation!  From the beginning to completion, this entailed a two-day process having the materials delivered to the home two days prior.  Under the guidance and direction of Carlos / Irving, JC & Sons employees worked diligently to remove, discard, and install a new roof on the house.  During the clean-up process, my neighbor's driveway was cleaner than ever before all thanks to JC & Sons Home Improvement employees! JC & Sons did a great job replacing the roof on our house and providing additional services. First, they came out to survey the house and provide options for what materials could be used for the roof and explained what techniques would be implemented. Second, they listened to what additional items we wanted addressed, such as having the gutters inspected, a chimney sealed and an additional vent installed in the roof. Third, they communicated a fair estimate, in writing, that indicated the various line items for the project. Fourth, we agreed upon the terms and scheduled a date for work. Fifth, they came on time and spent a long day, with a large crew, addressing all of the many aspects of replacing a roof and tending to the other agreed upon tasks. It's worth noting that they did pay a lot of attention to detail and made sure that all the parts of the multiple peaked roof, and trims, were properly sealed, covered and secured. They also made sure the gutters were solid and removed a precarious antenna that was on the house. Sixth, they cleaned up at the end of the project and made sure the place was left in good shape, especially considering the amount of work that was done. Seventh, and perhaps most importantly, they continued to provide solid service after the project was complete by respecting the warranty for the work they had completed. Thank you JC & Sons for following through with what you promised and for doing a great job with the many aspects of the project we hired you for. Chose them for siding and windows. The day they showed up to start the work they advised me that the color I chose was not in stock so the job had to be pushed back 2 weeks. Did a poor job measuring the windows which led to more delays and a poor install with huge gaps which they tried filling with caulking after reordering a window a second time . They originally did my roof in 2014 and we have an active warranty on it. In April, there was a big wind storm and some of the shingles flew off the roof. I called them at least 5 times and they said they were unable to come out due to the pandemic. In June, I called them again and they promised they would come out the following Monday. Nothing. No call back. No response. I'm very shocked at this as they were great in doing the original job. So great in fact I recommended JC to 2 of my friends who had their roofs done by them. Since this point, I have been utterly disappointed with JC. They did not honor the warranty they promised. UPDATE: 8.19.2020 They contacted us and apologized for not coming by sooner. The workers came and surveyed the roof and found that it was actually our neighbors shingles that fell off onto our property. They did come but could have been more timely about it. On the fence about whether I would use them again but they did finally honor the warranty. read more

Guys did a excellent job on my new roof. Ripped everything completely off and installed new plywood and roofing material. I'm amazed at the new look the roof provides my house now. My neighbor had siding done on his house recently. but I'm not here to comment on the outcome of that. The workers asked that we not park our cars in OUR driveway closest to the neighbors alleyway where they were working because they didn't want to cause any damages to our vehicles so we obliged. I came home from work to find MY driveway completely littered with nails, heavy-duty staples, Styrofoam crumbs and all sorts of papers. This after I already pulled in to the driveway. At least I know who is going to get the bill should I get a flat tire. So much for them worrying about damaging our vehicles! Totally inconsiderate and unprofessional they didn't even bother to sweep the area. They deserve zero as far as cleaning up after themselves! read more

I found JC & sons from ServiceMagic. Carlos called me and made an appointment for a roof job. He gave me a very low price compared to others contractors. But he failed to put it down on paper. He told me he would email his quote to me, that was 1 week ago. Never heard back from him. It is important to get an itemized receipt or contract when you're doing these type of renovations because you are at the contractors mercy when it comes to cutting corners and using inferior products. I wish I could give them a 0, but at the same time our insurance paid for most of their services as our roof suffered some damage from Sandy. There are 3 major problems we have with them: 1) They didn't ask our permission to post that grotesque sign on our fence, and it took them over a week to take it down 2) Our roof looks beautiful, but they didn't seal off a hole in a corner, which was a huge problem in the past as squirrels were able to get in and out. 3) We thought that the washer/dryer was broke causing some flooding. But in reality, one of the tiles that came off when they were fixing the roof got stuck in one of our drain pipes, which long story short, caused some minor flooding in our basement. We had to pay a family friend/much better contractor about $300 to fix the damage that Carlos and his merry band of idiots caused!!! We needed to concrete our backyard are a while now and finally decided to find people to complete the job. We started looking around May 2015 and found about 5 companies. JC and sons was the only company who actually called us back and made an actual start date appointment. The other companies gave us estimates that were either okay or just unreasonably high. JC gave a really reasonable rate and were very professional. On the first day on the job JC'S landscape crew came and began to work immediately to clean out all the unwanted bushes, plants and a tree. They completed the entire task without any problems or complaints. Afterwards, the concrete guys came in and in two days they finished their job. Last but not least, another set of guys came in to put new siding on the garage and install new gutters. I loved the fact that JC had different crew members completing different jobs and all were very professional. Even though Carlos, I believe he's one of the owners, didn't come he left the job in good hands. One recommendation I would make is to know how to speak Spanish because most of the workers only speak Spanish. Overall, I am impressed with the completed job. read more

I found this company by passing by a home in Kensington, BKLYN whose siding was recently re-done and who had a JC & Sons sign in their lawn. When I called the company to inquire about a small job, Carlos the owner, was able to come over to provide an estimate within 20 minutes! I told him what I wanted done and the $ I had to spend, which wasn't very much. On our three family (detached) home, we were looking to have two sides of the house done over on the third floor section. We also wanted the second floor balcony roof replaced. Carlos came by last night to confirm the job and today his company started AND completed the job (as promised). It looks AMAZING!!! We chose a beautiful gray vinyl with white details. They insulated and replaced the soffit and facia (spelling ?). I can't wait to complete the entire house and i will DEFINITELY call this company I have had the WORST luck with contractors and service providers. Many companies did not want to accept the job because it was small and our siding was crumbling with potential rotted wood beneath. I was skeptical by the low prices and speedy work, but I am SO pleased with everything, I would pay them to complete ANY job (siding, windows, roofing). I literally have NOTHING bad to say about this company. PROS: They asked if they could post their sign in our lawn. They repaired damage sustained from Hurrican Sandy. They sealed EVERYTHING, including holes made by squirrels who were previously living in our soffit (who were removed by a wildlife expert) They cleaned up, were on time and finished early (within ONE day) I am VERY picky and had many bad experiences, but their work is pristine ! I came across this company after noticing its workers on the roof of another house in the neighborhood - which turned out nicely - so I decided to ask for a free estimate on replacing new sidings and windows (24 total) on my house. After bargaining hard with the owner, Carlos, I agreed to hire J.C. & Sons based on what I considered a fair quote. I was very surprised and skeptical to learn that his workers would be able to accomplish everything we discussed - sidings, windows, replacing a new roof for the porch, including aluminum wrappings, and aluminum ceiling - in only two days(!). This should have been the first red flag. As you can imagine, in order to accomplish everything under deadline, Carlos's workers (11 total on the first day) rushed the entire job, neglecting many of the details in the process. Fortunately, I was present throughout the whole rennovation so that I was able to catch and correct many potentially disastrous mistakes. I'm not in the least a home repair expert, but when someone wants to use aluminum ceilings to wrap the exterior of your porch that just screams incompetence! Nonetheless, I still missed other moments when Carlos's workers took shortcuts and now there's just nothing that can be done. To be fair, the vinyl sidings turned out satisfactory. However, details in the windows such as huge gaps between the original wall and aluminum wrapping are just too glaring to overlook. What's worse, their solution was to use white silicone to fill it in, amounting to what would be an atrocious glob around the frame of every single window! (I demanded they change to transparent silicone). There are just too many examples to go into where attention to work was lacking and incompetent mistakes were made (i.e., failure to flush the roof with tar, which resulted in a leak into our second floor window the following rainy day). I would not recommend this company to anyone, but if you're still unswayed, I recommend bargaining very hard with Carlos (he'll quote you an overall price without giving you an itemized breakdown - that's just shady) and vigilant supervision of his crew. read more

The owner came by and gave a very reasonable quote, which I agreed to and signed a contract. We agreed on a date two weeks from the signed contract date for the work to be performed. In the meantime, he was supposed to revisit with some samples for the siding, but never showed. After making several phone calls, he never returned with any samples nor contacted me to reschedule. Few days past the agreed date on which the work was supposed to be performed, I called to inquire why he hasn't showed and his response was that he completely forgot about the job, like what? How unprofessional! Moreover, I agreed for a second meet and he did not show up the second time either. Though he gives a competitive price, it really has no value if he 'forgets' to do the work. DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR! I can't say enough about how horribly this company does business. Not only did they not deliver as promised, I also had to have another contractor come and FINISH & REPAIR work that I had already paid them for. Dont be fooled by their blue shirts, professionalism is not their strong point. They left debris strewn about after 'completing' their job. It was such a hassle because it even pissed off my normally nice neighbors to the point that they were asking me to clean their yards. They left nails and debris across their driveways. They double parked their huge vans in my neighbors driveways without my permission or my neighbor's permission. I was not home and they had promised to cart away rubbish but I was left to take out the trash. The workers kept yelling at each other in broken english/spanish. I pointed out defects and they promised to come back another time to finish. They never showed up. It is a pleasure to deal with a company that listens when you describe what you want done and has your best interest at heart. I recently called a company to come and check my gutters because I had water coming in the house through the ceiling in a room. The guy that came quickly stated that my gutter was not good and that a new one would have to be put in. He proceeded to quote the job at over $2,000. I called Juan Carlos and asked if he could come and take a look. He sent one of his guys the next day. He climber up and found that the only thing wrong with my gutter was excess dirt that had clogged it. He cleaned it and problem solved. Juan Carlos was not out to take me for a new gutter. He has done several jobs for us and that are all of high quality, honest, cleans up after himself, guarantees his work, and is more than fair in his pricing. Contacted JC & Sons for vinyl siding and concrete driveway replacement. Large home and property. Carlos appeared on scheduled appointment date and we discussed scope of projects. I requested specific materials, i.e., Mastic Quest 4.5" Dutch Lap 16' vinyl siding, Pro Bead soffits, 1" DOW Super Tuff R 4'x8' rigid insulation, Tyvek house wrap, and Mid-America window mantels and dentil trim. He asked me to go inside while he measured. I declined his offer. He did not climb roof to measure windows to size requested mantels or trim. Gave the appearance of performing ground measurements and then left residence. Very short visit. He advised that I would have a quote in a few days. I texted him my e-mail address despite his not asking for it. I attempted to contact him and left numerous texts with no response. Two and one-half weeks later, no response. Draw your own conclusions. Lacking professional, common and simple courtesy of advising home owner he would be unable to undertake project. Proceed with caution. Caveat emptor. read more
