I recently hired SAS for some exterior work to prevent water leaks in my door, including dry well installation and concrete work. They quoted me the best price, completed the work quickly, and did a great job! I also appreciated Mohammad's responses to several questions I raised before deciding who to hire; he was so helpful! read more

Mohammad and SAS offered a fair quote and correctly diagnosed the problems. We had flooding in the basement and after their work (and a big storm today), everything is dry. He cares about the work he does and even came back to make sure that everything was effective. Hire them. They will solve your problems! read more

SAS took good care of us. Worked with us to get job we wanted, the way we wanted it. Went the extra mile to explain what they were doing throughout the process. Took the time to play close attention to the details. Our new roof membrane with tiles on pedestals turned out quite nice. Happy to recommend them. read more

The gutter on my roof broke which lead to a leak. I reached out to Mohammad on a Sunday morning and he had his cousin on sight to inspect that afternoon. They did a great job changing the gutter and sealing all the windows. The communication and work produced was beyond our expectations. I called Mohammad at recommendation of one of my neighbors. I had a terrible water leak into my back door and back window due to the recent rains. My schedule was bad, and I was going to be out of town for a while, but he thankfully squeezed me in. He came, assessed and immediately knew that the problem was my gutter. He and his guys came 2 days later and replaced it and sealed everything within a few hours. His prices were reasonable and he was easy to work with and explained everything. It looks like he did a good job, and I'll update review after it rains again. And I'm planning on using him to put in a new roof in September, when the weather cools down. Had a leak at my home roof and needed repairs my garage. They were responsive and took care of the job quickly. Everything was cleaned up after they were completed. We own a 3-family brownstone building in Hoboken with a skylight and flat roof. We recently had a pretty serious leak after a big snowstorm leading to ceiling collapse in one of our tenant's apartments, requiring not only the exterior roof to be repaired but also interior of the apartment. I called around to several roofing companies for emergency quotes including SAS. As soon as Mohammad from SAS arrived I knew it was going to be different. He was not only on time but early! He was thorough, polite, and was able to give me a rough estimate on the spot. He also got back to us same day with an official quote, where as we had to chase the other contractors down for their quotes for several days. SAS was the most competitive and affordable quote, which actually surprised me because based on their professionalism and track record I expected them to be the most expensive. He also quoted the quickest timeline saying he could have all the work done inside and out in 2 days. Given there was a collapse and my tenant's apartment had a hole in the ceiling, we needed the work done ASAP. Mohammed shuffled his schedule around to squeeze us in for an emergency repair and worked on our place on a Saturday and Easter Sunday! He told me the crew would arrive at 9am and they were there on the dot! His crew was so polite and respectful to my building and the tenant and her apartment. They were incredibly efficient and clean. SAS also replaced our old leaky skylight and they installed a beautiful custom skylight in its place. We had researched what type of roof we would need and the proper materials. SAS not only used all the proper materials but also upgraded us to premium materials for no additional charge. They didn't cut any corners, did exactly what they quoted, and then some. We had to leave them to finish the work on Easter Sunday and wouldn't be home before they left so I put a lot of trust in Mohammad to complete the job, clean up, and lock up the apartment and building when done. When we came home and we're amazed how everything looked. On the outside the roof looked spectacular, perfectly sealed and covered, everything done correctly. And on the inside it looked like they had never even been there, which is what we wanted. Everything was buttoned up, painted, and perfect. And the common area and inside of the tenant's apartment was cleaner than before they had arrived! I have never had a contractor be so thorough in work and clean up. I was so happy to hear SAS is a full-service contractor, not just roofer and will definitely be using SAS again to complete other work in our building. It's so relieving in this area to find an ethical, affordable, professional contractor who does what they say, in the timeframe they say. SAS has won my business! Give them a chance you won't regret it! read more

I have been so impressed with Mohammed and SAS Roofing & Waterproofing. I reached out over Yelp one morning about a small leak I had found, they responded quickly, and came out to take a look the same day. I got an estimate promptly that evening. It was totally reasonable (not too expensive but not too cheap) and Mohammed scheduled the work more quickly than I expected, which was a nice surprise given my prior experience with contractors. The crew showed up right on time and did the work thoroughly and efficiently. Every interaction I had with Mohammed and his team was among the best I've ever had working with contractors. This business is great. A really efficient and friendly crew arrived promptly and did a great job on repainting sand waterproofing some of my outside walls. The communication was excellent, as we had to provide insurance paperwork to access the two adjacent roofs. I would recommend them without question! Two thumbs up! David, Long Island City read more

Mohammed and his crew were extremely professional and respectful of our home while they did the work on our roof. We had had multiple leaks as the result of poorly done roofing job by the previous owners. Mohammed was punctual in responding to our initial request to come check it out and provide us with an estimate. He completed the job in the time frame that he said it would take at a very reasonable price. He communicated throughout the whole process and there were no surprises along the way. It has rained a few times since the roof was completed and the leaks are gone. read more

SAS is amazing. We first used them 3-4 years ago to do some minor repair work and fixing our skylight leak on a roof. Recently we hired them to fix the roof and apply a second layer on the roof and clean our gutters, and they do a phenomenal job. To the extent that the recent storm was a non issue. Mo provides written/emailed estimates and works to a schedule and meets any timeline he verbally commits to. He's quick in committing to work start dates and the team is present on time to start. SAS/Mo is our favorite contractor to work with and we look forward to working with him and SAS on other maintenance work in the future. read more

Mo was great to work with. He was very responsive and helpful and went above and beyond to help us with our brickwork and the roof. When we discovered hidden issues in the roof, they took care of it with no hassle. When the first round of paint stripper didn't quite do the job, they did a second round without question. Worth the price. There was a small problem with some damage/cleanup from the stripper (bunch of goop/overspray ended up in our garden and there was some damage to the neighbor's stucco because it was really bad stucco in the first place) but I think Mo's hard work to fix it justify a 5 star review anyway. Even after the work was completed, there was an issue that I needed to check on and Mo came by to look at it and give me advice for free. He really does care to make sure that the work they did is good. read more

Muhammad has been a pleasure to work with. Always cheerful - even funny! - prompt, and efficient. He replaced the hatch and ladder to our roof, the marble saddles at our front door, and repaired the iron and stone work on a decorative balcony. The house is 100 years old and he had to work around its many quirks. The results are not always perfect- they couldn't be without a complete renovation - but he was able to make the best out of difficult conditions. He also responded quickly to any issues we had with the job. We'll definitely use him again. read more

Mohammad seemed very professional and knowledgeable the first time he came to discuss the project. We hired him to do several different pieces of work, including working on our gutter, fixing the rear facade, installing the lintel and other work. Based on the initially conversation we gave him a 50% deposit. When it was time to do the work, Mohammad did not show up. Instead, he sent his cousin who did really poor work. After only completing a couple of the items on the list, we pointed out that a number of mistakes and obviously poor workmanship. The company argued with us, saying that the look didn't matter, only the functionality. However, this was the rear facade of our house, and it was ridiculous how bad it looked--no one could argue that this was the work we paid for. In the end he said if we didn't like his work, he would give us money back because he never completed half of the work (after we paid for half up front). However, we never got any money back and he just stopped responding, pocketing the money after doing far less than half of the work, and doing it extremely poorly. read more

Mohammad did a project for me a few years back and did ok work. Since then I have contacted him for other projects and the customer service is extremely poor. He does not respond to messages. On several occasions I will text him for an estimate, I may get an initial response then after that he ignores my messages. I understand people are busy but you need to be able to communicate with your customers. I shouldn't have to text you 5 - 6 times over the course of a week hoping to get a response that usually never comes. I rather you just tell me you are unavailable until a specific date. I saw several other reviews on yelp describing the same customer service I received. Do yourself a favor and shop around as there are lots of other good contractors serving Brooklyn. I rather work with a contractor that is professional and responsive to their customers. read more

We hired SAS in May to repair a leak in our condo roof after a heavy rain storm. We received a detailed quote for $7k which outlined the waterproofing repairs (including sealing, metal flashing, pitch pockets, etc). The price seemed high, but we went ahead expecting professional results. The work was completed quickly, but not as thorough as the quote detailed. Some of the sealing was visibly missed, which we pointed out during the final walk through. Rather than taking time to ensure the work was up to standards, they gave us a minor $100 discount and ran off to another job. 5 months later, the leak had returned in the same location. Despite stating "All work will be guaranteed" on their quote, SAS did not stand by their work and now we are out $7k and back at square one. read more

I strongly recommend avoiding this roofer. They came to my house to repair a leak in our roof in April. The next time we had rain, the leak was worse. They came back again and again. Months later, we still had a leak directly under the repairs they did. In the middle of the night, it broke through the ceiling in my daughter's bedroom and caused a mess of water and broken plaster. They claimed it was a different problem and refused to return. Then the owner told me to "go find another roofer." I did, and the roof is now fixed. I believe this company started the job with the best intentions, but they did not know how to fix my roof and became frustrated. I am filing a claim against them. read more

We hired a different roofing company to replace our flat roof on our townhouse and ended up with more leaks than before. Every night that it rained, we ended up with leaks in the house and no matter how many times them came to fix it, they never could. Totally distraught with their work, we hired Mohammad to fix their mistakes, re-side our bulkhead, replace our bulkhead roof, add a new gutter, and fix some damage to our roof door. After one full day of work at a totally reasonable price, we are leak free for the first time in months. I was finally able to sleep through the night, confident that our roof issues are over with. Mohammad and his team were fast, courteous, upfront, and very communicative on what we needed to have done. He never tried to upsell me or do more work than was necessary, but he also didn't cut a single corner. He noticed issues that the other roofers didn't and was able to diagnose our problem in 10 minutes. Our roof looks wonderful now and I can say with confidence that I know his work will hold up. Even if it doesn't he guarantees all of his work and he even contacted me the past two days after it rained to make sure that there were no more leaks. Take it from someone who has been burned before, Mohammad is the man to solve your roof issues. Don't make the same mistake I did - go with SAS from the start. read more

This review is for SAS and his brother! Where do I begin... SAS and MBH (brother companies) were very professional. I had a tenant sign a new lease and had to delay their move-in due to a leak (flood) coming from the ceiling. I had a minor heart attack!! There was so much water coming into the apartment from so little rain! This needed to be resolved ASAP. I contacted a few companies via yelp for quotes. The first company to arrive on scene gave a low ball estimate and didn't really explain what was going on (Hint if it's too low they will start raising the price in the middle of the job). Another company came and sent me the estimate 2 weeks later (the job was already done)!!!! SAS (this little guy) came and not only the price was right, but they wanted to help me ASAP before the next storm (2 days later). SAS came and pointed out that there was damage from workers doing construction on my roof (satellite company). My gutters were leaking causing the wall to get soaked. They were the only ones to send me a detailed proposal. They didn't charge a penny more than the agreed upon price. They went above and beyond of what was expected. I am 4 rain storms in and not a drop of water has been found in the apartments!!!!!! Thank you Guys!! read more

We hired Mohammad and his team to remove and replace the flat roof on our newly purchased townhouse. They completed the work in three days, were communicative throughout the entire process providing us with updates and photos, were affordable, and did a great job. Service being requested: roof repairs quote. Given the many positive reviews, I decided to call the number on their website for a quote. The man asked me to text him the address and that someone will contact me to setup an appointment. No one ever contacted me while I know that they read the message. I requested a quote using the Google form for which I received a confirmation of my request but no answer. A few days later I called again, no response. Called last week again and the person said he has my information already and someone will call me right away. Guess what, no one ever called. If I could have a negative review for this business then I would. Very unprofessional. It was stated by owner below that his representative called me a couple of times and I didn't pick up. Someone called me with the phone rang once and that was it. I called back and left message. No one called multiple times so this is a lie. Whenever I do work in my home, I go straight to Yelp for the reviews. Well the reviews on SAS Roofing & Waterproofing did not disappoint. I hired Mohammad and his team to do do a 100% redo on the roof to my brownstone. I'm giving two stars because I did get a response to my initial inquiry and sent them more info as requested, but I never heard from them again. I did in fact send the info you requested (address and such) but don't understand what went wrong. Mohammad and SAS were quick to be in touch, inspect our building's roof, schedule work, and complete it. They were always pleasant and easy to work with. SAS replaced the roof on our 8 unit building at a very competitive price, had insurance documents ready, and only took 3 days from start to finish on the project. Because of past roofing work with other contractors, residents of the building were concerned about roofers leaving tar or paint on the carpeted stairway leading up to the roof. Impressed by every aspect of SAS Roofing's work and highly recommend them!!! Superb workmanship, careful attention to detail, quality materials & true dedication (e.g., little or no breaks during 6 1/2 hrs. of constant work in 90 degree weather). They informed us of steps taken during the project's progress and answered our many questions. SAS easily identified causes for our leaky roof and large crack in an outer brick wall and fixed everything needed using thorough, labor-intensive care, not quick fixes (e.g., they didn't simply patch the roof nor fill the crack but instead did all needed for lasting relief). SAS replaced the entire very old, damaged roof and, for the crack, cleaned out all old cement and carefully filled it with quality material. The roof has held strong with not a single leak after several bouts of heavy rain and even a powerful tropical storm! All this at a very reasonable price with a guarantee of their work. Will definitely use SAS Roofing in the future. read more
