I recently had A1 Gutters and Roofing replace my roof, and I couldn't be happier with the results…read more I found them online and got quotes from six different contractors, but I didn't choose A1 because they were the cheapest -- I chose them because of their thoroughness and professionalism. Before starting the job, they conducted a detailed evaluation of the roof and did the same once the work was complete, to make sure everything was done right from start to finish. They also brought in a licensed electrician to properly disconnect and reinstall my solar panels, and thoroughly tested them afterward to confirm everything was working correctly. In addition to the roof, they rebuilt my chimney and installed beautiful new 6" gutters -- the whole property looks fantastic. What really stood out was how flexible and fair they were during negotiations. We worked together to agree on a contract that worked for both of us, including a 50-year extended material warranty and a 25-year workmanship warranty. On top of that, they went above and beyond and threw in an extra item as a gift, which I really wasn't expecting. A1 Gutters and Roofing is professional, skilled, and honest from start to finish. I highly recommend them -- give them a call; you won't be disappointed!

A1 Gutter and Roofing in Garfield, NJ is no exception. So too have we heard and, perhaps, experienced some dishonesty among this lot. So it is significant when one discovers a contractor who is legit, trustworthy, and highly professional. Having to replace an entire roof including structural repairs of its wooden beams, new insulation, and re-bricking of the upper portion of the chimney was a major undertaking. The entire project took two weeks. It's impossible to describe just how well this job was accomplished. Picture may do it some justice. Overall, this customer is pleased beyond measure. I figured a short drive for him would result in a slight savings for me. I asked him for an estimate over the phone but he insisted on coming over?!?!?! So I met up with him and he gets 5 stars for being timely. The estimator began to COMPLAIN to me about the difficulty of the job and the manpower required to complete such a task. He exclaimed a minimum of 2 men are required and it will take all day! REALLY? His estimate to CLEAN the debris from the roof gutters (3 sides) came to $750! REALLY? Honest business here? I then asked him what it would cost to clean my next door neighbor's roof gutters so that I can capitalize of some economies of scale here. The estimator then lowered his price to $450/house. REALLY? To make a long story short, I went with a STATEN ISLAND guy that gave me quote over the phone after sending in my house pic and he quoted me $175/house!!!! Why are manual laborers like this so dishonest? Whatever happened to honest day's work? Whatever happened to one's honesty? So much for religion, diversity, equity and inclusion?!?!?!? It seems like the local laborer charges for DEI and religion. No thank you.

At best, I was not happy; sometimes I was actually scammed. A woman alone is seen as a target. In January, 2019, heavy 20+ feet limbs fell in a storm from the immense tree on my property. They broke through the slate roof and ceiling of my side porch, and destroyed the screen door. I am so thankful that my googling found East Coast Residential, LLC, I recommend them and the owner, Larry Ferreira, without question. He is honest, respectful, totally dependable, thinks outside the box to help, and very hardworking. Unlike every contractor I've dealt with in the past, Larry will not let you pay until the job is finished and you are totally happy with the results. If you have a small hesitation, he will fix it promptly, before he receives a single dollar. I don't know how he thus manages his business, paying for materials and labor of his team; but I understand he has repeated customers. I am so thankful for finding Larry. He has done more to help, including installation of new exterior doors and locks, and repairing and cleaning gutters. He lets you pick the materials you want, and will even take you shopping if needed to make the selection. I am going to have East Coast Residential renovate my 50's kitchen. I trust them completely. My home is basically surrounded by trees. I was requiring gutter cleaning about every other month…read moreso I decided to do something about it. I'd gone online and read numerous horror stories about companies that rip people off on gutter guards but I needed them desperately so I decided to bite the bullet. I called NJ Home Maintenance and scheduled an appointment for an appointment. A few short days later they arrived at the house for the estimate. They dropped off a few samples along with an explanation sheet explaining the benefits of each. I was rather surprised by the price which I consider to be more than fair. I hired them on the spot and could not be more pleased. The work performed, punctuality and communication were all without parallel. Speaking as someone who is very meticulous with the maintenance of their home, I can recommend them without reservation. Kudos much thanks.
