We have been here a couple of times since the restaurant changed,it seems to be very popular with the yuppy crowd. They were very busy on the Thursday night we last went so we had to park across the street, but were seated very quickly at a 2 top in the traffic flow to the back.The food is pricey but good but just not my favorite. read more

Either they need to step up the game or they won't be here very long. They were not very busy so I do not understand why the long wait on the food. The server was nice but - not very attentive. We were really disappointed in the food for the price. So the good things first: onion rings, Thai wings ( a little hard and not hot, but good flavor), the battered fish was good. The not so good was the chicken strips (very dry), mashed potatoes- horrible, French onion soup - horrible, and she crab soup tasted off. This was the first time there and my husband and I loved it!! We sat at the bar where the bartenders were very friendly and right on top of their service. A+ to them!! We also ordered dinner. My husband had shrimp and grits and said it was excellent. The grits were served as a patty with the shrimp on top. Plenty of shrimp. I had a grilled chicken Caesar salad and it was very good. Cold crisp lettuce with a creamy dressing that wasn't overbearing. The grilled chicken had a different flavor that was delicious. I would have liked to have had more chicken on the salad as it was a bit skimpy. An A for food. Would I go back?? You betcha!!!!! read more

Horrible! Terrible! My first and last visit. When we walked in it took forever for the hostess to seat us the owner seen us and did not even bother to come over and talk to us and seat us. When we ordered the waiter was horrible. Hardly got tea refills and the catfish well let's just say Captain Ds and Snellgrove beats it hands down. We got jumped on by a manager for a goof up the waiter made while the owner stood at a nearby table talking about going on a cruise and getting drunk. Very unprofessional. read more

I have patronized Props 3 times. The first two times were some time ago, not long after they first opened. I gave reviews then, both a 2 rating, for poor service, wrongly cooked food, and once my order was completely lost. My date decided to wait for me to get my food, and instead of remaking her plate, they simply re-deep fried it. The owner says they would never do that - I've been cooking gourmet for over 40 years - I know re-fried food. It's worse for him to believe they wouldn't do that and think the customer is lying - than to believe employees will not take shortcuts when the boss isn't watching. This time, Friday 8/28/20, I arrived at 5:00 pm - some friends told me they met there each Friday, and I said, reluctantly that I would meet them. After sitting for about 5 minutes, at the bar, a young man handed me a menu and asked for my drink order. I wasn't even greeted - just "can I get you a drink". Two other bartenders said hi - one went on break the other off to talk to her "regulars" around the bar. One observation, if you are friends with the owners or staff, you will get great service! If you are unknown to them you are nearly invisible. After 50 more minutes my glass was empty, I had never been asked if I needed anything, nor was I asked if I wanted another drink. When I was paying my order, one of the owners was in the bar area and I explained to him, both my past experiences, and the one from Friday - he told me they would never do the first one (re-fry cold food), and apologized for me being totally ignored. Of course he wasn't sorry enough to discount or forgive his $10.00 Woodford Reserve. If you are aggressive and demand service, I think you'll get it. But when a meal is going to top a hundred bucks with a drink or two, I expect to be treated like I'm in a fine dining establishment. This is more like a diner with expensive food. When we pulled up, cooks/staff were outside in back smoking. This was a turn off... should have left then. Food was just below okay. I ordered fish. My husband ordered steak and it was overdone and not very flavorful. The sides were cold and the food took a very long time to come out. The music is was 80's-90's hard rock/metal which I am not against but the volume was very loud and contributed to the confusing atmosphere/theme of the restaurant. In summary, below average food at an above average price in a restaurant seeming to want to be fine dining yet with a helicopter/airplane decor and loud rock music and sub-par food not worth the price. Side note: I would be willing to pay this price for food if it was good food. The food here is forgettable. I gave one star because I probably will never go back. read more

I came to this restaurant after reading all the reviews. I kept an open mind. The prices are equivalent to Outback or one of the other chains. The food was ok but not anything special. The servers are very polite but I felt rushed. The server took my plate when I wasn't done yet. He needs to remember to ask if we are done before grabbing plates. The decorations are more suitable for eating a burger or wings and not in line with a more comfortable dining experience. We ordered our appetizer and meal together. Everything came out quickly and basically at the same time. I think the concept of what they are trying to do would work better if they could dial in the rest of the dinning experience. For example the food should come at the appropriate time for each course and not all at once. We ordered a bone marrow appetizer which lacked presentation. The plate was sloppy at delivery. My entree was surf and turf with scallops. The steak was heavily salted and the scallops were tiny. The side was a garden salad with blue cheese and grits and cheese cake. The salad was served with dressing on the side and the cake had a frozen flavor in the background. Again the presentation reminded me more of dinner at a Friends house vise a meal out on the town. The total bill including a 20% tip was about $85. I don't think I will rush to come back. I have had better experiences at the chain establishments. Lots of room for improvement! read more

Came here for Valentine's Day even though we had a sick kid at home throwing up. When we made our reservation they never said there was a 10 minute window to show for the reservation. We were 12 minutes late for our 6 o'clock reservation and rather than be understanding that we had a sick kid at home that made us late, they gave our table up and would not sit us. Our first visit was on a Friday at 5:30 PM, so we had about a 30 minute wait. They have a comfortable waiting area, so it wasn't bad. I got their 10 oz sirloin and my wife got the shrimp scampi. Both were quite good. However, I'd prefer regular iceberg lettuce over their purple salad variety since it was more fluff than substance. The shrimp was large and very tasty. The building is very attractive and the decor is awesome. We will definitely return. read more

This place has a great atmosphere, but that really is about it. Service was slow, but nice. The Blacken Chicken Rigatoni was, well, disgusting. It consisted of 6 tiny pieces of chicken (1.5" x .25" x.25" SMALL) that were barely distinguishable in a pile of over cooked pasta, 8 English peas and 6 jalapeno peppers. I was warned it was spicy, it was not. The key lime pie arrived with a melted mush of whipped cream. All in all, not good at all, but hey, the decor is nice. Never again read more

We had reservations for a group of 10 and got seated about 15 minutes late, not bad for a large group at 630 in the middle of the dinner rush. The ceviche and crab cakes were great appetizers. The steaks all came out right, the oyster Poor boy was good, the loaded mashed potatoes were even better. The guy next to me wolfed down the fish tacos before we could get a taste. The waiter kept all the drinks full and was checking on us very regularly. Everybody had a good meal! Didn't get to try the house beer because they were out, but even with that "party foul" I'll be back. read more

Fabulous food and friendly service. I had a skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and it is difficult to make a skirt steak tender enough to cut with a butter knife but somehow they did. My family had chosen to dine at a different restaurant, however as we drove past Props we noticed that it wasn't busy at all so we decided to turn around and dine at Props. Big mistake! We had dined at Props once before, not long after it opened, and it was terrible. Since then, we noticed that Props stays quite busy and have heard some good reviews so we thought to give it another try. How is Props now? We will never know for ourselves. A little after 4 p.m. we parked in the half-empty parking lot, looking forward to what we hoped would be a great dining experience. Several Props employees were standing around the host desk, all looking to be teenagers. When I requested a table, the young host told me that we would have to wait 25 minutes. Numerous tables were vacant, so I questioned the wait. I was told that they were "in the middle of a shift change" and that "others were waiting too" although I saw no one else waiting and considered the comment to be a lie. My family and I left and will not return. Props caters to favored customers and reserves tables for extended periods of times awaiting those customers arrival at their convenience. The food may or may not be good, but I refuse to accept being treated like a second-class citizen. read more

I was very excited to hear about this nice restaurant coming to town. Unfortunately I was Very disappointed! The 1 lbs of shrimp appetizer was good. The New York Strip steak was very chewy " chewing gum" considering the $22 price tag. I would say it's the worst steak in town. I get better steak at Logans for a-cheaper price. First time was definitely disappointing. 2 people with appetizers was $100.00 plus tip, which is not a problem if the food is worth it. It's not. Decided to give it a second chance and it was a total disaster. Again, 2 people with appetizers and the bill was right at $100.00 excluding the tip. The service was fine. I had a steak with scallops. The scallops were fine. I could nitpick my other items, but I will not. My main gripe was with the steak. I would not have fed it to my dog. Honestly, I am unsure if it was even beef. Right after taking the first bite a woman claiming to be the manager came around to see if everything was ok. I said it was "ok" because I had just taken a bite or two. But after it became clear that I was not physically going to be able to eat their food, I stopped trying. I got the bill. Money is not the issue, but it definitely was not a $100.00 meal. My dining partner ordered a filet. I tried it and it was horrible, and only marginally better than my steak. Not quality meat at all. Not a $100.00 dinner. A chain steakhouse has steak 10x better than this for less and I consider them just mediocre. I summoned the manager back and advised her that the quality of the meat they are serving does not merit a $100.00 bill. The woman then had the unmitigated and ignorant nerve to try and turn it back on me because I did not complain to her earlier when she visited our table to ask if everything came out fine. I expressed that I doubt that would have made any difference if they were intent on serving such poor quality meat. I told her that I was going to pay the bill, which I did, but that this was most certainly not a $100.00 dinner and that I was not going to be returning. Remarkably, my comments did not seem to bother her one bit. I regularly dine at fine dining establishments. I know good food and fine cooking. Though I am not a snob. I do not know what is possessing those people at Props to think it is appropriate to be serving such horrible meat, but one day it is going to catch up to them when they lose so much business they cannot continue operating, either because of their poor quality food or because they are simply shut down. It was a horrible dining experience and I will never return. read more

I'm not really sure how people are so in love. It was mediocre at best. My party of 3 happened to get there on a Friday night before rush hour. So we we're seated within a reasonable time. But our food took forever to come out. In total we we're there for 2 hours. Our waitress was very nice, but she must have been overworked because dishes were left on our table, she didn't come back to check on us, and we had to wait a really long time to get our ticket and pay. I can't too much fault the staff, if they have such a big demand of customers, they really should hire more people. The food was just okay. Nothing to rave about. We ordered spinach dip which was DISGUSTING! They put sugar in it, it was so gross. I ordered steak which was way overcooked. Nothing our table ordered was amazing, it was all Applebee's quality. The menu looks amazing and I think this place has some great potential. But there's a lot of room for improvement for sure. read more

We decided to try the newly named Props hoping the name change would produce a better restaurant. The parking lot is small and was nearly full upon our arrival and the restaurant seemed to have a steady flow of customers coming in. Our meal started out ok with our order being taken, however drink refills were slow. There was a gap in between appetizer and salads to the point that we forgot we were getting salads. As we took the first bite of our salads, the main course arrived. As we looked at our plates, we mentioned that we were missing several items which most were then brought a few minutes later. We saw a Manager who we mentioned we were still missing items and he brought the items to our table. We saw our waiter again at dessert time but elected to go elsewhere for dessert due to our experience thus far. We are glad we tried the place but have no desire to return as there are plenty of other options that have better service and more reasonable prices. read more

Where to start! This was a very bad experience from start to finish. We arrived at 5:00 to find a 45 minute wait, so we chose to go to the bar to eat. The bar area is large and totally understaffed. The girl took our drink order(water). She later brought our menus. She was so busy that the bus boy took our order. He could not put the order so a different waitress put the order in. One hour later, we had to ask about our food. We had not received our salads, rolls or anything at all. We asked the manager for help. He was not apologetic only full of excuses. Our food arrived, and several items were wrong, and the filet was only warm , and the fries were cold and old. Still no salads or rolls. The manager saw that the food was not up to par and only said that they were still practicing because the restaurant was relatively new. Only excuses and no apologies. Said the staff was new and learning. Actually he talked to my family in a very condescending manner. The meal was fairly expensive. If they are still practicing then they should not be charging full price for the food. A bad experience! We will not go back! read more

The food is good, the wait staff is terrible. We've gone there several times now each time hoping the wait staff situation has improved. Yesterday, we arrived at 4 PM and it was slow. Our waitress appeared at our table 15 minutes later to greet us and take our drink order. No explanation of why it look that long either. We ordered and asked for Tabasco which she brought after we finished the appetizer in which we needed it on. From this experience and the past, I think they are trained to have you ask twice before bringing it. The main entrees, fried seafood, made it to the table in about 40 minutes. My fries were barely warm as I suppose they sat under a warmer for awhile. A drink what was ordered did not arrive, so we cancelled it. The server said "that's ok, I did not put the order in anyway" as an excuse, I guess(?) It is a shame really because the food is good. We would go more often if they got their wait staff problem corrected. As stated previously, this problem is not a one off thing, it happens every time. read more
