Walked in and noticed it was a smaller homier feel of a restaurant. The owner greeted us and sat us himself. Our waiter came around the corner and we promptly got our drinks shortly after. Now, I love me some Mediterranean food and this place was a nice change with some Indian choices on the menu as well as Mediterranean. I hate leaving a completely bad review because I like to find something good at every restaurant however...the food was very VERY poor quality. I ordered food to go from here. Firstly - The salad we ordered was soggy and warm. They put the dressing on the salad instead of on the side and then stuck it on top of the hot food. At this point I'm not sure how a restaurant justifies pre-dressing the salad and then sticking it on top of all of the hot food for a to go order. I was going to leave at least 3 stars because the gyro was pretty ok (not the best we've ever had though) and the chicken my mother in law and I had was flavorful as well. HOWEVER - I was up with stomach pains all night as well as my mother in law she got full blown sick from it. (We didn't eat the salad but could you imagine if we had!) the Greek fries were ungodly expensive for the lack of flavor and 3 little crumbles of feta. I went with a group of 6 people and found seats pretty quickly for dinner rush. Our server took a while getting to us and taking our order. Since we were a big group, it took a minute to get everyone's order which was understandable! Everyone's order looked fresh, hot and smelled yum... except mine. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and it was dry and I found it to be very bland. With enough tzatziki sauce it might be edible. This is one of the favorite restaurants my best friend's family loves, and I then understood why. We were promptly accommodated, and the server was friendly and attentive to our orders. The food was delicious. I ordered the House Special, with lamb as the meat, vegetable korma, basmati rice, and grilled pita. The lamb was tender, succulent, and bursting with Mediterranean flavors. The pita was soft and a perfect match to dip in their tzatziki sauce. The basmati rice was perfectly cooked (as an Asian with rice as a staple, I'm particular of the kind and preparation.) Although not a large space, the restaurant provides a homely atmosphere with delectable and affordably priced choices on the menu. Paid for extra chicken ($4 upcharge) in the vindaloo and even then it didn't seem like much chicken. The sauce was very thin and not spicy as "Indian spicy" should be. The garlic naan looked like the naan you find in supermarkets, and had dried garlic herb seasoning sprinkled on instead of fresh garlic. The hummus was very thin and not worth the calories. Perhaps I had high expectations from my friend, or upon entering and seeing their many awards for being the best restaurant in Warner Robins. I had tried their food twice, once through takeout and once dining in. At first, I ordered chicken karahi at the spice level hot. Opening my takeout, I was a little disheartened because of how thin the curry was, but I still tried it in hopes the taste would pull through. It was not spicy. At all. The flavor was ok, it tasted somewhat like what I would get elsewhere. The chicken was cubed and tasted ok, it didn't seem to take in the flavor of the curry it's in, and since the gravy was thin, it didn't stick onto the meat. It's very likely they have different meats cooked outside of the curry and then they add them together for each order. Great for customization at the expense of taste. I'm kind of disappointed, but Metropolis Grill serves Greek, Mediterranean, and Indian cuisine, so maybe I picked the wrong thing. Interestingly, curry orders come with free pita bread, not just rice. If you want naan, you would have to pay extra for it as a side. I come again with two people to dine in, armed with the knowledge that my friend only orders Mediterranean from here. We walk in and are promptly seated. The inside reminds me of a sports bar a bit. My friend and I order the chicken shawarma, which was the daily special at the time, and the other person orders lamb vindaloo. We ordered samosas to share, and I can say for sure that I do not recommend these to anyone. I hope they don't actually serve frozen food, but it reminded me of what I would get from that aisle. When our entrees arrive, everything looks good. Even the lamb vindaloo! It was the consistency I am more familiar with, though it did not look as appealing as others I've had elsewhere (having tried a bite, it also was not spicy). My order came with a salad, which wasn't fresh, but it wasn't bad with the amount of feta they put on it and balsamic they gave on the side. The chicken shawarma though... It was good, but that could be due to direct comparison to the curry I had before. The tzatziki sauce that it comes with on the side and on the chicken seemed to be different. The one drizzled over the chicken was thicker and creamy, while the one on the side was refreshing. The grated cucumbers were nice and helped brighten up the dish considerably, which made it much more enjoyable for me. It also came with pita bread. My second experience here was much better than the first, but it's hard to know what's good to order and what isn't. Plus, with the prices being similar or a bit higher than the Atlanta area for certain menu items, I can't see myself going here again unless my friend is craving Mediterranean and doesn't want to drive far. I like to start reviews with the positives. I ordered on Uber eats with priority, the food got to my house quickly and the food was hot. My husband and I started to eat when the food arrived so I forgot to take pictures of the complete meal. We both agreed the flavors were good , but there was such little meat in the kabob order and it was thin. In total there were 6 thin pieces of steak in the order (posted pictures from the website of the thick steak I was expecting). I know with Uber eats there is an up charge, but paying over $16 for the steak and an extra tzatziki is ridiculous. The steak was dry and there was little rice and vegetables on the side. As for tikka masala there were options for different proteins and we chose chicken. Normally you'd expect larger chunks of chicken that is stewed and unbelievably tender, but since they are trying to have more options it seems the chicken was cooked separately, cut into tiny pieces, and mixed into the tikka masala sauce. This food itched my cravings but was not completely satisfying because of the portions and price. I would not recommend or will be back to try again. It seems that there are others who have had similar take out experiences as I did. I've worked in kitchens and never changed an order just because it was take out. So, on my way to Miami from Kentucky I stopped at home. My daughter wanted some curry so we went to a place I like called Metropolis Grill. They serve Indian, Mediterranean, and Greek food. I've been here several times in the past. The service is good and the food is delish. 4 out of 5 stars. I ordered the Spanakopita appetizer, the lamb tikka masala, and a drink called Mermaid Water. The Mermaid Water was tasty. Mostly rum. Some spiced rum and coconut rum. Can't really remember what else was in it. Next, the Spanakopita. Cheesy, spinachy goodness wrapped in a crispy phyllo dough. It had good flavor but seemed to be slightly overcooked as it was a little on the dry side and the phyllo was dense and difficult to cut. Still, overall, a good appetizer. Lastly, the lamb tikka masala. Served with jasmine rice and naan, this dish always delights. The ever so slight gaminess of the lamb with the rich, creamy tikka masala... Soooo good! I ordered it medium spice, which really was not spicy at all. This is, by far, my favorite dish here. The Metropolis Grill does not disappoint! I will definitely continue to dine here! read more

We've been coming to Metropolis for 10 years. The food was always reliable. But last night, we noticed a real drop in quality. Something has changed. We always loved the curries with garlic peta and Baba Ganouj . My wife likes the shrimp curry but she was sick for 24 hours after. The Baba Ganouj looked and tasted like it was from a rotten egg plant. There was no substance, just smooth blended paste with bad flavor. I am a first time patron of this establishment. The service was awesome. I wanted to try the Greek salad because the screensaver in the restaurant display showed that it had a lot of Kalamata olives (which I love). We also ordered a children's cheeseburger plater and the daily special of chicken falafel. We ordered a kids drink, iced tea and a coke. When my salad arrived I noticed a single olive placed at the top. I cut up my salad because of the large lettuce. And I did not find any other olives. I asked the waiter and he said that the salad only comes with the tiny olive which looked like an adornment. I showed him the picture they had displaying the salad with lots of olives. The waiter said you only get one olive. I asked for more olives and was charged for them. They also charged us for an adult sized drink for the kids meal? My salad was decent and the olives made the salad along with the dressing. I am however disappointed with the false advertisement. The restaurant is small but the seating is spacious. The iced tea was horrible and lacked depth of flavor. I am not sure that I will return due to the pricing and the false advertisement. read more
