The best little restaurant I think I've ever walked in. Perry GA isn't a lot to write home about, however my boyfriend and I are long distance and this town is perfectly placed in the middle. Last time we met, we had to make due and eat waffle house and little ceasers because we didn't have any time to look around. I am SO happy we took our time this past trip because we found the cutest little nook of restaurants and shops. When we came across the Perfect Pear online, I immediately knew that's where I wanted to eat. We sat outside because it was BEAUTIFUL! The atmosphere was 100% there. Pimiento cheese dollop was indistinguishable from something spooned out of a Safeway tin. Avoiding those meant a pretty small, but not unpalatable meal. 2.5 stars. Key lime pie: excellent; 5 stars. Overall; 3 stars Service: a bit put-out seeming but pleasant and comped the drink. 4 stars May or may not come back. The food is better than the average in the area but they're routinely closed for private events that nobody knows about until they drive all the way there. We are so happy to have found The Perfect Pear on our cross country road trip. The proprietor is a wonderful and warm woman. She created a picnic for us that was out of this world. It contained quiche, with a flaky crust and very light and fluffy eggs, some pimento cheese which was excellent on crackers, but also nice spread on top of the quiche. It was topped off with two different desserts, key lime pie and also Krispie Creme donut Bread Pudding. The key lime pie was the best I ever had, it was much creamier than most and the perfect marriage of sweet and tart. The bread pudding was excellent too. Highly recommend. read more

After reading all the reviews, this was one place I really wanted to go during my summer internship in Perry. This is a great little place with an impressive Sunday brunch atmosphere. I was expecting the menu to have more than salads, burgers, and sandwiches. I read about shrimp and grits, and I heard that it was a catering place so I was expecting more entrees. The Megnificent Crab Dip was very rich. It came out to be a melted cheese dip consistency instead of a chunky seafood spread. I can't tell if I tasted the crab since it was so smooth and rich. I split the dip and a Blue Beef sandwich. Delicious! The sandwich came with chips, but I wish there were fries to soak up the au jus. I think I came with the wrong impression. I was showing a friend who was on a road trip around Perry, and we weren't looking to spend a lot of money at one place. The menu was very pricey considering the portions. Food was not what I expected based on the reviews. Chicken salad is good but a little bland, and the croissant it was served on tasted like it came from a big box chain store. The lettuce was shredded iceberg lettuce that was solid and almost white in color, and only tiny tomato slices. Tomato bisque soup was thin and bland. We walked in (my family and I) and were greeted right away. We have some picky eaters/dietary restrictions and they were more than happy to accommodate us. My husband ordered the Bahn Mi sandwich with cucumber salad, and I had the Mac n Cheese with oven roasted chicken on top. It was the best mac n cheese I have had in a long time! The half & half tea I ordered was very refreshing, as well. I would have ordered a salad, but I am not a fan of mixed greens salad base, and they did not have other base options. Highly Recommend!!!! Not just great food, but also Wonderful Human Beings. We were some of the Florida residents that evacuated due to hurricane Irma. On 9-13-2017 on our exhausting return trip we stopped for the night at the Comfort Inn & Suites (Perry, GA). We were greeted with open arms and a full buffet of food prepared by the kind owners of the Perfect Pear.
