We love the Tern cargo bikes.

One of the coolest bike shops I've been to and that's on the quality bikes and accessories that they sell. Their staff have been helpful the few times I've been there. My company purchased two bikes from them (Tern GSK, and the Riese and Muller Packster). I checked out a few bikes and basically everything they sell is high quality, backed by manufacturers, and most if not all use the Bosch system. I've met the owner, Chris as well as the other staff. Everyone have been friendly and helpful. I'm not an expert but I do know a lot about ebikes and I appreciate them walking me through all the different models and updating me with the newest technology. Bottom line: if you want to buy a quality electric bike that will last for years and to be able to do that with the guidance of excellent staff; come to Propel Electric Bikes! The bonus is you can buy your bike and ride straight to the beach!

Thanks Adrian, Nancy, and all the Propel peoples!

I had been shopping around for a while. These folks answered all my questions, were patient and have a good knowledge of what's available and what isn't. Adrian let me try out his personal bike to get a sense of the BULLS Evo line. I'm 6'4" so it was tricky to find a frame that would be a good size. They make sure the bike got all set up for a tall dude without a bunch of extra costs. Super grateful for the team over there! Thank you all!

I wouldn't even know where to start with how happy I am with Propel! The entire team at Propel rocks! How many shops can you go to where the Owner/Founder personally sees that you're satisfied! Chris, you rock! Thank you Patrick for your above and beyond assistance in Sales as well! Folks, these are people who GENUINELY care about you being happy with your purchase! I can't imagine going anywhere else if you're in the market buying a new Ebike! Guys, GO TO PROPEL in Long Beach, CA or in NY! You will NOT be disappointed! Thanks again for such a pleasant experience guys!

If you're looking for a well-engineered high-end e-bike, Propel Bikes is the place to go. There are multiple reasons why you should buy from Propel. They are one of the dealerships for Riese & Muller Bicycles and they have most of the models on display to test ride. I purchased a Riese & Muller Load 60 HS. I've never seen a personalized service like this from an e-bike store. I got to meet Chris, their CEO, and Founder of Propel Bikes. He is truly driven by his passion for e-bikes, transforming the lives of people through a clean and efficient transportation future. He knows his products well. His staff is very knowledgeable and courteous. Going through the purchase process was a seamless transaction. Propel accepted my Commuter Voucher checks that I receive from work. Of all the other dealerships, Propel's prices are very competitive and they offered free delivery. Chris delivered my bike as promised. He made some adjustments, thoroughly explained the features of the bike and warranty. The Riese & Muller Load 60 HS is just so awesome. It was definitely an upgrade from a Haibike Fatsix Xduro 9.0. Full suspension is the way to go. It gives you confidence on your ride. Chris just went above and beyond with his service. I am very thankful and appreciative of all he has done! Coming back for sure and support his cause in the industry! I wish you all the best, Keep up the good work, Chris! You're highly recommended! Also check out Propel Bikes YouTube channel, Instagram and FB; the reviews are very informative!

I have no words to express how satisfied I am with the experience I had with Chris Nolte and propel bikes. I'm very impressed with the friendliness and knowledge of all the staff. I wasn't sure about what kind of bike would fit my needs when I first walked into the store and Chris had all the patience in the world to head me in the right direction. The bike selection they have at the store is also very impressive. Btw, they only carry high quality and well known brands. If you are on the market for an eBike, I highly recommend that you give these guys a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Ask the Community - Propel Electric Bikes

Does this store sell used e-bikes or just new ones?

Hi! Thanks for asking. Propel sells new bikes, although very occasionally we will have a customer trade-in.

It was a pretty simple job that I assumed wouldn't take long. At first, they asked me to leave the bike overnight, but after explaining my situation, they decided to help me out, which I genuinely appreciated. The staff member was friendly and helpful, and the work was completed when I came back. That said, I was a bit surprised by the overall experience. For $40, I expected a little more clarity and consistency. When I asked about labor pricing, I was told they charge different prices for different things, which felt a little unusual and unclear to me. Also, while I understand I didn't specifically request sealant for the front tire, I just assumed it would be part of the service since the rear tire was being handled. In hindsight, that may have been my expectation, but it still felt like something that could have been communicated more clearly. On top of that, the pricing just felt high for the amount of work done, especially given how quick the job likely was. It gave me the impression that I was charged a bit more due to the timing and urgency of the request. Overall, I appreciated the willingness to help me out last minute and the friendly service, but between the pricing and lack of clarity, it left me with mixed feelings. I probably wouldn't return based on this experience.

The listing described it as "A-" condition with only minor scuffs and a new brake cable. After he rode the bike his friend's father told him to pass on that the bike had an issue, I then fully inspected the bike and discovered the front fork/headset had significant lateral play and could visibly shift when the bike was stationary. Taking it apart, I found electrical tape had been wrapped under the top cap to act as a spacer, allowing the bolt to tighten fully while the headset itself stayed loose. The proper aluminum spacers were missing entirely. They costed us under $10 shipped for the aluminum spacers. This is a real safety issue, not a cosmetic one as a loose headset will cause premature ware and can be dangerous. We fixed it ourselves with parts from Amazon and a YouTube tutorial, so we weren't looking for a refund. I emailed the shop (addressed to Jon) explaining what we found, purely so they could catch this during inspection on future used bikes. I never received a response, and the original listing was quietly taken down shortly after. I want to be fair: many people clearly have great experiences with this shop, and I'm not saying this was intentional. But a safety issue like this should have been caught in a basic pre-sale check, and an unanswered email about a safety concern is disappointing from a shop with this kind of reputation. If you're buying a used bike here, I'd recommend inspecting the bike fully yourself before riding it. I didn't take pictures as I honestly didn't know what I was looking at. Also didn't realize that it was just black electrical tape at first.
