One of the coolest bike shops I've been to and that's on the quality bikes and accessories that they sell. Their staff have been helpful the few times I've been there. My company purchased two bikes from them (Tern GSK, and the Riese and Muller Packster). I checked out a few bikes and basically everything they sell is high quality, backed by manufacturers, and most if not all use the Bosch system. I've met the owner, Chris as well as the other staff. Everyone have been friendly and helpful. I'm not an expert but I do know a lot about ebikes and I appreciate them walking me through all the different models and updating me with the newest technology. I've never seen a personalized service like this from an e-bike store. I got to meet Chris, their CEO, and Founder of Propel Bikes. My company recently purchased four more eBikes from Propel and let me say that, throughout the purchasing process, Patrick and his team were extremely flexible and accommodating when it came to the bidding procedure. Propel, as was the case with the first four bikes we bought, came in as the lowest bidder, and was able to provide the required, extra equipment we wanted, with no delay. The other companies that we solicited were either reluctant to, "step outside the box" or were unable to provide the specific items we wanted. In one case, another company flat out called me and lamented about the time and effort involved in putting together a bid for us. We are coming up on a year of owning our first four eBikes and will, without a doubt, use Propel Long Beach for our servicing needs. With that being said, there were some growing pains on the part of my staff with regard to the implementation of this mode of transport. In every case where advice or assistance was needed, Patrick and his team responded to our concerns and addressed them accordingly in an efficient manner. Great selection of bikes provided one stop shopping for what I was looking for. However the person who helped me was new and really needed a support person to provide more information as he was still on the learning curve. The person was nice and meant well, but ask for some additional assistance if you feel the answers provided see a bit vague. What really surprised me was when I picked up the bike. I was handed a bag full of manuals and didn't get any walk through of the bike materials nor any walk through of the bike features. This was disappointing given a $4,000+ bike as I would have expected a higher level of service. They really need a higher touch service for the bike prices. read more

I just bought a new Riese & Muller bike from Propel Bikes, their customer service was impeccable and Patrick was very easy to deal with. I did all of this over the phone. I dealt with two other bike stores, that sell the same exact bike, service was poor and their attitudes were terrible. I can share this with you, you have to be very careful where you buy your bike and that particular store. I first experienced an electric bicycle by renting one in Monterey, CA. while on vacation. I am an avid Mountain Biker, road biker and former Motorcycle rider. I can say unequivocally that they are an abundance of fun. Before buying one I did LOTS of research. Since the price range is fairly broad, one has to be concerned about the level of quality. Upon further investigation I found out that batteries are the main issue with these electric bikes. Cheap bikes come with cheap batteries and they do not last. The second issue is customer service. As my research intensified I kept finding Propel Electric Bikes commonly rated in the top 3. After visiting their website I noticed they had a wide variety of some very cool looking bikes. I mean no matter what you ride, you should look good on it -right? Mopeds were fun, but did you ever want to be seen on one? Also, they use Bosch batteries. I do not know much about bicycle batteries, but I do know about power tools and Bosch are considered the best because of their superbly engineered batteries. One could safely assume that their bike batteries are held to the same standard. I ordered a bike and to my surprise it was delivered by the owner. This is probably not commonplace but never the less it gave me an insight into the company I could tell by virtue of meeting Chris, the founder, that this was a progressive company with a passion for excellence and exceptional customer service. As for the bike, well it is a blast, a sensation much like I had when I was younger and crazier and flew around in motorcycle. The bike was so much fun and my confidence in Propel was so strong, I immediately ordered a second bike for when guests come to town. If you been contemplating buying an electric bike, do it now, as summer is coming and you are not getting any younger. I recently purchased the Urban Arrow family cargo bike for my son and I to have adventures in. My son is on the Autism Spectrum so for him to be in the front where I can see him (safe and having a blast!) is a huge relief. The bike feels amazingly sturdy and has a natural feel to it. HUGE shout out to Patrick who has helped with tons of information, and his kindness to my son and I. Never once did I feel pressured to buy anything. After buying my wife an ebike, I found I was soon left behind her on my conventional bike. So, I studied the ebike market for several weeks and got smart about the mechanics, manufacturers, bike reliability, value and dealer support. Propel Ebikes kept jumping out at me since my selection had turned from introductory designs to high-end. With some lower back issues, I wanted a commuter-type bike but with full suspension. My last rigid-tail bike convinced me of this. Brand selection is VERY limited with this design. I settled on Riese & Muller, one of the higher-end brands sold by Propel. R&M owners on forums kept giving this brand very high marks. So, I made the plunge and found a Super Delight demo at Propel with the options I wanted. (Normally, these have to be ordered with a wait time of up to 8 weeks.) I purchased the bike on a Tuesday and Patrick told me they would try to get it prepped and shipped by the following Monday. The bike arrived at my house in less than a week from my purchase date with a carton weight of 105 lb! Nearly 40 lb of cardboard and packing. Not a scratch was on the bike. It looked off-the-floor new. But, after the first four miles, the assist feature quit working. Numerous emails and phone calls to Propel seemed to indicate the problem was in the wiring. But, I was not left to get it fixed myself. Propel assured me they would do anything to get me riding again. The Propel associate, Patrick, took it on his own to spend nearly a half day researching ebike dealers in a large metropolis area near me to find the best help even though there aren't any R&M dealers there. The chosen dealer got me in the same day I called and had the problem fixed in a day. Follow-up calls from Propel to see how my efforts were doing also resulted in full acceptance and reimbursement of the repair charges. If you are interested in a high-end ebike that Propel sells, you cannot go wrong buying from them, no matter where you live.
