Hawaiian

Love this place! Excellent pizza Veggie pizza is always spot on. Hawaiian is a big hit. Chicken Parmesan garlic is awesome as well. Haven't tried much else because those are our favorites. Prices are good, service is good and pizza always hot.

We got the pepperoni thin crust pizza and order of breadsticks and cheese bread.

We always get the MEGA MEAT pizza because it is truly the most meat (and cheese too!) we have ever gotten on a pizza!

The…read more"Italian burritos" were made to order and delicious, the salad was crisp and fresh, and even the soda water-to-syrup mix in the soft drink machine was spot on. All the ambience of an In-n-Out Burger - bright white and red tiles, and nuclear-strength overhead lights, but the place is as clean as a hospital operating room, and the gentleman who made our meals was friendly, outgoing, and just generally a total delight. Yes, we added a tip. On top of that, in a day and age where $20 gets you a burger a la carte, fries being extra, the prices ($8 and $10) are incredibly fair. It might be the best meal value in the entire Tahoe basin. Whatever expectations I had going in, Notty's completely and absolutely exceeded all of them. We will definitely return.

We were the only customers that evening, so the worker was able to give us some background and how to order. It's cool that it's made to order. We got to see him put the toppings in the dough, wrap it up and place in the oven for about 5 minutes. So essentially their Italian Burrito is just a different shaped Calzone. As we ate it, I noticed the filling worked it's way to the bottom of the burrito. So the first couple of bites were essentially just dough. Once I finally got some filling, it was ok. Maybe it was an off day. But for me, I shouldn't have let my curiosity of "what is an Italian Burrito" get to me haha.

I met a couple of friendly locals at the restaurant who affirmed this. Service: Excellent from being greeted at the door to an introduction to the menu. Food: Excellent. For pastas, you can choose your own pasta shape. The pesto pasta was perfectly al dente. The pizza menu has 20 different options. The Cassinetta pizza was great with sausage, mozzerella, sausage, and bell peppers. Don't skip dessert! The panna cotta with berry sauce was divine. I will definitely be back.

I also got to try 1/2 slice of a friend's pizza. The gnocco fritto was tasty although the bread is a bit thick so a little on the doughier side. They were pretty tasty though and had a good olive oil and oregano flavor. The malfadine pasta had a great texture and the sauce was very meaty although I felt like the bolognese could use a little more aromatics to make the flavors pop more. The pizza was also really well made and the ingredients fresh but the crust was a bit bland. All in all, pretty solid place that could be excellent with a few minor changes.

They turn the lights off in eight or nine weeks and if you haven't ever eaten here, thought about eating here, or been a regular, it's worthy of one last visit, that's what we did last night. The first thing we ordered was a glass of wine each and then we moved onto a bottle of Oak Farm winery Lodi Zinfandel. We started our meal with the risotto crabcake appetizer special. We got one crabcake each, and Lea and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. We then chose the swordfish special and the cioppino as our main courses, and, again we were happy with our decisions. This was our second visit to Cafe Fiore, and on both occasions, we found the service to be special and the environment to be warm and inviting. Some might even call the environment, cozy. I concluded my meal with the house made white chocolate ice cream, and Lea was able to resist as she was full. So you've got about eight weeks and reservations will, I'm sure, get quite hard to get the closer the end comes. This was the third of three restaurants that I would consider iconic at Lake Tahoe that are closing or have closed since October 2024. Change is constant, and now three great places are gone. The good news is one of the three, Edgewood, will re-emerge after a renovation of the space, but the Lone Eagle Grill and Cafe Fiore will be gone.

The wine list was extensive and had a great selection. We started with garlic bread. All entrees came with a choice of house salad or minestrone; all at my tables chose the salad, which was super fresh and dressed in a well balanced roasted shallot vinaigrette. I ordered a seafood pasta which was loaded with perfectly cooked scallops and shrimp and the pasta was well seasoned and well cooked. Everyone at the table was very happy with their meals. Dessert was decadent and the white chocolate ice cream is a can't miss! This is such a wonderful date night or place for a special occasion!

I was hungry, but she wasn't so we shared a few dishes, which were graciously supported with fresh serving plates for each dish. We really do love sharing plates. Martini for me, delicious blood orange Italian soda for her. Calamari appetizer. Golden beet salad with fried goat cheese. Seafood with squid in pasta. We both loved every bite, including the perfectly al dente noodles. I secretly wish for bread, but I'll know to order it next time. The wine selection was amazing, and I ordered a special Chiati limited from 2023.Twas amazing! Service gracious, friendly, and impeccable. Will return!

Hostess was really sweet and cheerful. Loved that. Now is where the problem started. Our waiter never introduced himself, but the receipt says Steve S. He walked up, said do you want something to drink besides water, that is where the conversation ended when we said no thank you. We asked for ice for the water as they try to keep it authentic. He goes and grabs some ice, puts into 1 glass and walks off. We had a glass each. So, I still have no ice. Never did get any either!!!! He never came back so sometime else dropped off the food. For that fact, he never came back period. We had to ask the hostess to get him for us. She said he would be right there, time passes and still have not seen him. He NEVER came back ever. The hostess had to go get our ticket and ring us out. So yeah, tip was not great either. You get a tip for service rendered to a customer. If you do not do anything, it will reflect! On to the food. So for the waiter 0.1 stars. Worst wev3e ever had!! We ordered the warm olives 3.5 stars They were ok. The cheesy pull apart bread. Very little cheese on it at all. If you're calling it cheesy, I want some cheesy on it. 3 stars The octopus with 1000-layer potatoes and a dressed salad. Octopus, solid 4 stars as I have never had it in my life to compare it. Was tender chewy if that makes sense. The aioli that comes with it pairs nicely! 1000-layer potatoes 5 stars solid!! I would eat these for a meal. Salad 3 stars, dressing was very little. So, all in all, ambiance was really nice, meal was just ok and waitstaff was the worst I've ever had in a nice restaurant Everyone keeps talking about their great experiences, so where was our great experience. So due to this 1 bad experience, we will not give it a 2nd chance.

After looking around, I decided to try Scusa. We've driven by it so many times, I figured why not? We made a rezzie, but I don't know if one is really needed. It's a pretty good sized resto. We were seated at a booth by the window. I enjoyed the creamy ravioli. Good amount of lobster flavor. The salad I adored cuz of the anchovies. I loved the creamy, salty, briny dressing with the crisp lettuce. The escargots were tasty. Tho I prefer to soak up the delicious butter with a crusty french bread vs the focaccia like one we got here. But it's an italian spot, so understandable. My seafood pasta, I enjoyed the flavors, but it was sandy. Not overly so, but enough to affect the texture of the sauce a bit. Maybe I should have complained, but I didn't. The hubs seemed to enjoy his calamari steak. Seemed very standard with a citrus caper sauce. Service was good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The decor is kinda mixed. There is a section that has that white table cloth vibe. Well, they actually have white tablecloths. And then a row of booths along the window without tablecloths. I prefered where we were sitting since it was roomier, but it seemed almost like two different spaces. An enjoyable italian meal. Tho I'd watch out for anything with shellfish. Your dish could be a little sandy. REVIEW #4030
