We enjoyed lunch there this afternoon. The young gentleman working there and the young lady at the register were both so very polite and helpful. Our meatball sandwiches were really delicious, just could have been a little hotter. We also wish they had a path to their door from the sidewalk on Hwy. 395. We walked from the new car wash that used to be Melvin's and it was impossible to walk across all of the rock flower beds to get there so we had to walk all the way around what used to be the Big Chicken restaurant. Absolute worst customer service here. 1. Serve at counter confirmed they had sandwiches with avocado, started to put in order but they had to have manager let them know this was not offered. - not a big deal, mistakes happen but this was just the start 2. After ordering and receiving sandwiches, double checked all the add-ins were there. They were not, in fact all veggies were excluded. 3. After asking them to fix the order they made us go back to the end of the line to wait for the fixes. They refused to make fresh, just took existing sandwiches and added what was missing. At this point debated asking for money back and leaving but needed food and thought it shouldn't be too long. My mistake. 4. After waiting for over 30 minutes, finally got correct sandwiches and they refused any discounts, any future credits, nothing. Will never come back here. It was Monday November 4 and it was my Lunch break from being an Election Worker at the Historical Minden Courthouse. A couple of my coworkers recommended that I try this relatively new Firehouse branch. Since it was a short drive away and I drew a blank on everywhere else, off I went. Firehouse is kind of across the street from McDonalds, and with plentiful parking. The inside had lots of seating and an offset ordering window. The guy waiting on me was friendly enough, albeit a bit disengaged. My favorite sandwich is tuna salad, on toasted bread with cheese, lettuce tomatoes, and pickles. And when I stepped to the counter and ordered tuna salad, that's what I thought would be coming out. Instead, my completed order was tuna on salad with cheese and tomato on top, and with a pickle on the side. So at this point, my reaction was, why not? I was hungry enough, that my tuna salad was just OK. As first impressions can be important, I'll probably only be back if there's nothing else that comes to mind if I'm in the neighborhood. read more

I got a sandwich from this location today Minden. I ordered a pastrami with no onion or tomato. After waiting 20 minutes in the drive thru with only one car in front of me I received my sandwich. I went back to work and found that not only were their onions and tomatoes on my sandwich it was the WRONG sandwich. I am allergic to onions so there was no way I was going to eat that sandwich and could not go back because my lunch was over!!! I have not been impressed with the Carson City or Minden locations. It takes far too much time in the drive thru's. The employees that I have talked to about the drive thru time is like talking to a wall. I gave $12 for sandwich I had to throw away. I will not go back to Firehouse Subs again. It is a shame because I do like their sandwiches. read more

One would think for the newest sandwich shop in town, they would be a bit more welcoming and friendly. Thought I would try the fries, that being a side option with a combo. Went up to the window to pay, was greeted with a monotone "hey." The kid immediately told me my total, WITHOUT reading back to me what I ordered and NO receipt given. Received those fries I was excited to try, and they were cold! I was idling at the window for four minutes from the time that I paid, to when I received my order. Service was good until a young man who's name badge read "Kale" was in the window making my food he continuously kept touching his hair with the same gloves he made my food with and I even saw hair follicles fall onto the food so I got a refund and went elsewhere. Then, I ordered it cold, it was hot and apparently sitting for a while. I paid for macaroni and cheese and it was missing. And my pickle was missing. I was told the whole crew was new and orders go from door dash, call ins, drive up, in store then something else. What is wrong with this picture!!! I was in store. We have frequented this shop weekly for years. I like lots of sauce and order it with triple sauce. They have done well in the past but the last month and a half they have been putting regular or even lite sauce. Called them. Place is clean and the cashier was super nice and answered my question about the restaurant that was being built next door. The sandwiches were the best subs I've had. Not a good first impression. We have never had a Firehouse Sub so we wanted to give it a try for dinner tonight. I had downloaded the app and it gives you a 50% off coupon on your first order. I tried to apply it, but it wouldn't let me do so. I drove over there and was told that there was a "problem with the software" and it had been that way for a couple of days. Seems that if they are aware of the problem, that there would be a workaround, but there wasn't. I wasn't about to pay $40 for two medium subs and one side salad so we left. Went to In and Out and had two burgers, two fries, two drinks, and a patty for our dog --- all for just under $23. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get to try the Firehouse Thanksgiving sub. The coupon expires in a week so chances are I won't have the opportunity due to a "problem with the software". It is unlikely that I will return. read more
