Saw this as I'm reaching for dinner and thought it was a high class restaurant, but turned out something like fast food restaurant. The cashier/server was incredibly nice explaining on the menu works. We got the 3meat combo with 2sides and the loaded cheese fries for a family of three. (If I were to eat more like my young aged years the meal would not be enough for us). Luckily I eat small portions so it was just enough. The restaurant is located in an outside mall and inside has a normal sitting area with a few tables. We were planning to eat in the restaurant but unfortunately the fan was turned on high and we were getting so cold that we decided to bring it back to our hotel to enjoy the food. Now for the taste of the food. We got the 3 meat combo with 2 sides. They were out of chicken and jalapeños chicken sausage so we got the ribs, polish sausage and the brisket with fries and green beans as the sides. On top of that we also got the loaded fries with cheese. (We were a bit confused coz on the menu the loaded fries come with meat but when we open the box there wasn't any). The regular fries looked burnt (I didn't try that). The green beans tastes like chilly (from the can). The polish sausage is okay, the brisket is too dry for us, but the ribs, OMG, it was delicious. It's not dry at all (like any other places that we had before) and with the bbq sauce it made it definitely worth going back again. The $0.85 strawberry ice cream for dessert is good too. Well, it's definitely an improvement over my last visit and I do have to say the employees we're friendly and welcoming. However, I didn't see a curb inside that restaurant yet. I had a curbside order. I also don't have a big yellow cup in my hand. I have a big clear cup in my hand, but still paid for a big yellow cup. Food was served cold, and very small portions. A very bad experience for what they charge and risk of food safety.

Had a terrible experience. Food was ordered through a catering service, was supposed to be ready at 11am, arrived around 11:30am to be told they didn't have the order. Staff called the owner and they stated they did get the order, but never told the store. When asked if they could still do it, the staff said yes and to come back in 20min. When coming back, they said they didn't do the order, because the "owner called my higher-ups, and told them they couldn't do it". Ironically, this was after the catering service was refunding 50% of the total due to the 1.5hr delay. The owner never called anyone and lied throughout the whole ordeal. The last 2 times we ordered from them it's taken at least an hour longer then they said! I have ordered gluten free chicken wings and they don't have them even after ordering from a person there! It has been a long time since I have ate here due to the food quality being subpar. However I went today and boy what a difference the new owners have made. The Manager Allan and employee Elijah were both helpful, professional and friendly. The food was excellent. My husband had half rack. I have NEVER seen ribs so large and not greasy. They tasted so good. I got the crispy chicken, mashed potatoes with cheese and side of gravy. All was so very good. Allan listened as I whined because I miss the Jalapeño baked beans and he suggested giving me a side of pickled Jalapeños to mix to see if I liked it. OMG!!! It was so good. I put the whole side cup into my beans and I was one happy camper. My husband and I both left completely satisfied and we plan on being back soon. Let me preface my review by saying that living in Hawaii, we are not known for BBQ or BBQ restaurants, so I don't have much experience with this type of food. While in Carson City for training, we were provided free lunch one day from Dickey's. The spread included brisket, pulled pork, chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, and rolls. I sampled the chicken, brisket, and rolls, and I was in heaven! The chicken was so tender and moist, and had amazing flavor. The brisket with their sweet sauce was also incredible. While I absolutely loved the chicken, I think the star of the show were the rolls. They were so perfectly cooked. I would eat here everyday if I could. And I'm also impressed by the prices which is probably unique to areas like Carson City, as you ain't ever gonna find BBQ that cheap in Hawaii (and we have our own Dickey's here). read more

We tried the under new ownership Dickeys. I'm done. We were the only customers there. The brisket could not be smoked because it is flavorless and dry. The prices doubled and the sides are 1/2 the size they used to be. It was not clean and quite a bit of the customer area is used as storage. The bathroom was not clean and the space between the men's and women's stores a large box. The soft serve machine is gone and the sauce is much thinner (watered down?). They had the doors open so the flies could come in. So, we ate outside. Tables outside are dirty and sticky with BBQ sauce. 2. No menus to order from. Per the employees there was a fire in the kitchen 2 weeks ago, so they don't have a menu because of this. I guess they can't have some printed for customers to order from. 3. They only had Brisket or Sausage and 3 sides available. We ordered brisket sandwiches, and the brisket was so burned some of the pieces were too HARD to even bite into. I just threw it away. And we LOVE burnt ends!- Who doesn't? But these were hard as a rock! 4. Bathrooms are dirty We did tip the kids working the counter because we didn't know the food would be so bad. I haven't eaten a dickeys barbecue in a number of years. The food was good, and the service was prompt, but this place is a dump. The floors are filthy, they're black at the edges and that's on the white part. I'm a tall guy, so when I was standing at the counter, I could see the grill that they were warming up the buns on for the sandwiches. It was crusted with stuff on it. I did not want brisket and neither did my daughter so I called back and canceled my order and they said okay. I would give more than 5 stars to Dickey's if I could. The food is unbeatable! It's always hot and cooked just how I like it. Not bad prices for what you're getting, either. I can usually get two meals out of the one meal I purchase. Above all the service and the staff are phenomenal. Every time we go, we're greeted from the moment we walk in the door, asked how our food is, and wished well as we leave (with full bellies). The workers are some of the sweetest, most down to earth people I have ever met. I would go here every day if I could, but going at least once a week is just enough for us and our budget. Awful from walking in, to having to throw away most of the food. The $60 meal was mostly inedible due to the ridiculous amount of salt in everything. The restaurant was over 100 degrees inside. The staff said it had been that way for months. The menu sign had been removed because, supposedly, the owner did not want people walking in to order. They did not have 75 percent of their online menu items available. The floor was slippery with cooking grease. Overall, it is a miserable experience and a place to avoid at all costs! read more

This location has been going down hill almost since opening but definitely nose dive in at least the last year. They no longer serve the crisscross fries nor do the put pickle and onion in your plate dishes. Besides the $2+ increase on items EVERY time I go in they are out of something that is listed on the menu. 9 times out of 10 the employees (if there is more than 1) are standing around just chatting and are dirty and unkept. If I order off the app they end up out of multiple things and you never know until you go to pick it up. I have been a long time customer of the carson location because I just want bbq but I have decided I will never go back. When this place was new, it was such a great experience even up to COVID. This time though.. Doors were open and lights were on, but no cars in the parking lot. We walked in, and noticed the AC wasn't working and it was close to or above 90° inside. The place was a disaster, surfaces were dirty, soda machine was out of order and there were no menus posted behind the counter. The employee greeted us kindly and explained they had a fire and were closed for a week, but things were still messed up and they were out of most sides and only had brisket and pulled pork. After talking to the employee, we decided to go eat elsewhere. Management and ownership obviously didn't care about the state of their restaurant or the comfort of their customers and employees. I was surfing Yelp for dinner ideas when a one-star review jumped out at me! "how does that even happen... smh" it said. Sounded serious!!! Time to investigate! I donned my mask and headed down... I've been to several Dickey's BBQs in different locations, and something just didn't seem right. When I arrived (first time I've been to this location), a thought occurred to me... does it have a drive up window? I walked around back and confirmed - no drive up window. I entered through the side door, went to the counter, and placed an order for a three meat plate... to go. The friendly staff got started on it right away. While they were working on my order, I went over to the well labeled and well placed BBQ Sauce station that was maybe five feet from the counter, grabbed two cups with lids and filled each cup with sauces of my choice (they have three different varieties), I filled one cup up with Original and the other cup up with Spicy. Great sauces! My order was ready shortly after I filled my cups, so I paid and bailed. At home, I peeked in the bag and, yep, those cups I filled were still there! I pulled the meats, sides and sauces out of the bag... opened the meats... mmmm, smelled good! No sauce on it yet, though... I sampled each of the meats and thought to myself - "damn, even without sauce, this meat is tender, juicy and flavorful - well above one star even without the sauce"... then, I did something magical - I opened one of the sauce cups and poured the sauce on the meat - bam!! Great stuff! I believe they do have sauce packets behind the counter that are added to takeout orders upon request. Maybe they should have been offered, but it's not hard to imagine staff forgetting to say something when the majority of people familiar with Dickey's get their own sauces (the lids for the cups aren't there for dine-in orders).
