These guys did a great job assembling a Target kitchen island for me. $75 for about an hour's work, 2 guys. I had Ron & Mambo (I think that was their names), and they showed up on time and were nice to deal with. The missing 5th star is because they left quite a bit of mess behind, despite some half-hearted sweeping that they did. Communicating with the company was a bit odd - I filled out the contact form on their website, got an email back saying "are you around Wednesday morning?" I said yes, the response was "Great, see you at 4:00 PM." But they came on time and did good work. read more

Mambo and James A++ James scheduled the assembly on my non ikea bed. He had no issue it wasn't a typical assembly. He quoted reasonably and was very flex with schedule. I requested Mamba as he had done an assembly for me recently and was great. My bed arrived early from the shipping company and I called James and he had Mamba in my apt within an hour. Mamba worked efficiently and even cleaned up after himself. He was courteous and kind and helped me move side tables etc into place. I would highlllyyy recommend them. read more

DO NOT USE PRONTO! I was excited to see all the positive reviews, but the have to be fake postings from Pronto themselves. This was one of the worse experiences of my life which left me nearly in tears with no way to get my furniture home. I called them a few days before I planned to go to IKEA to see if I could schedule an appointment, and also get a quote. I mentioned that I lived in a 4-floor walk up and they said that it would be $49 and an extra $20 (normally extra $40 - but he would give me a deal) for the walk-up. They also told me that they don't actually make appointments, but have a small fleet of vans ready, so you just call when you arrive and once again when you are in line to check out. I should have been suspicious when I couldn't get ahold of them when I first arrived at IKEA. When I finally did, they just told me to give them a call when I was in line to check out. When I called when I was in line the guy mentioned to keep an eye out for a minivan and one guy. First, I told him that I didn't think my stuff would fit in a minivan (since I pretty much furnished my entire apartment), and second that one guy wasn't going to be able to move my stuff. The guy on the phone then mentioned that the guy could handle it, and that I may just have to "help" with some of the bigger items. Again - probably should have bailed there, but went to the garage to meet the driver. The driver was SHOCKED at the amount of items I purchased. He said he didn't think everything would fit in the minivan. He also said he wouldn't be able to fit me and my friend on the back into the city (Pronto says that they can fit your furniture and up to 2 people!). He called his boss, and I got a call back from Pronto - guess what, the price went up again - this time he said it would be $80. After about 90% of my items were loaded into the minivan, the driver said "I hope you have someone helping you unload." I told him that I thought he was doing that - and he said, he was not going to, he was only a car service. At this point, I was nearly in tears - there was no way I would be able to get all of this massive furniture up the stairs to my apartment by myself - the entire point of hiring a delivery service! So, I told the guy I couldn't use him, and to take my stuff out of the minivan. He threw everything out of the van, and quickly drove away, leaving me in the garage alone, with all my furniture. Of course, the guy from Pronto stopped answering his phone, and I was left alone to figure out a way to get my stuff home. Lucky for me, there was a random guy in the area with a huge van, and I hired him AND an assistant to move all my stuff into my new apartment. I URGE YOU TO AVOID PRONTO AT ALL COSTS! I called and was able to set up a pickup and installation for just a few days later which was great. What was not great was that when they were putting together the ikea daybed in our 2nd bedroom, the daybed was not put together correctly in the first place and we were told it was "because our floors are uneven." But after our insistence, he realized he had installed a metal bar upside down which was making the trundle bed off-track. He fixed it quickly but only after we insisted multiple times that there was something wrong with the assembly of the bed and NOT our floors. The worst was that they also drilled a hole into our hardwood floor when they were putting the bed together. They tried to come back 2 days later and patch it up but the color is off and it's obvious as our hardwood floors are dark. They also chipped some paint on our walls due to leaning the furniture up against it - not that big of a deal but just another sign of not doing things carefully and not caring what kind of mess is left behind. I'm sure lots of other people have had great experiences with Pronto as the other reviews suggest but I am just not one of them. The hole in the floor is the worst b/c now it's just more work to try to fix it. read more

I asked Pronto to shop, deliver and assemble all my furniture. Overall, I am quite disappointed with them and honestly they are very unprofessional. They provided a quick quote after I sent them my shopping list. After that, it was very hard to get in touch with them again to book a date and it was really hard to confirm with them about the details (e.g., when exactly will they come) because they rarely pick up phone calls and respond to emails. On the day of delivery, after being late for an hour, a creepy van showed up. I was wondering how could they fit in all my furniture in this little van, and it turned out that they only got half of my stuff on the first trip and needed to make a second trip. After the first batch of furniture was delivered, one guy stayed in my apartment to assemble them, and the other went to get the second batch. The guy who stayed was okay. All furniture assembled by him was in good shape and that's why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. After almost 4 hours, they other guy came back. YES, 4 HOURS!! Which completely messed up my schedule for the day. When he came back, he started assembling as well. Unfortunately, the furniture assembled by him was TERRIBLE. I have to buy another desk because he completely ruined it. (It's uneven, and shaky). Last but not the least, these guys were very unprofessional when moving furniture. BE CAREFUL OF YOUR HARDWOOD FLOORS AND NEW PAINT JOBS. They do not seem to be careful at all and scratched multiple places on my hardwood floor and walls. Do not call this guy. He offered me a quote and told me to call him when I was ready to be picked up from Ikea with all the stuff. I finished shopping an hour later and called him repeatedly while waiting out on the curb. No answer for over a half hour. 8.2.2015 - Update of my prior email: in addition to the poor service and very bad attitude experienced below, it is pretty obvious that they don't know how to assemble Elfa products. I should have hired the elfa assembly team, they would have done a much better job for a slightly higher price in a tenth of the time! * * * If you have time to waste... go ahead and hire them. Eventually, they might get it right. I was a fan, not any more, I have really seen the service degraded. I hired them 3 years ago and the guys were great. I hired them again, and these guys: - didn't show up when was agreed (and planned in advance, in view of a move... so time was of the essence); - finally showed up, but damaged my brand new floor; - lost some parts and blamed me for that (really? didn't I tell you that everything HAD to be finished prior to the move?) - told me that "they would tear the whole thing apart" if I asked for my money back - not even ONCE apologized for the major delay and damage caused I am now left with a damaged floor, and an unfinished armoire. They did get other things right... and they offered to come back WHEN I find the parts that THEY have left who knows where. If you are in a rush and want a job well done by a professional, please hire someone else. If you want to hire them... maybe avoid paying them in advance (I know, pretty stupid of me...), which might keep their arrogance down and hopefully their service higher. But don't ever expect customer service, as they don't even know what the word means. read more

I ordered the pax wardrobe thinking I could assemble it myself. I assembled the wardrobe but I needed help with the mirror doors. My sister and I tried to put it on but it was just too heavy. Called them and they showed up an 1hr later. They did a great job. Mounted the wardrobe against the wall so that it doesn't fall over since the doors are heavy. I just wanted them to get the doors on the wardrobe but the older gentleman made sure the wardrobe was leveled and everything was perfect. I am very happy with the work they did and how quickly they came and assembled the doors. read more

These guys must have a large extended family who are submitting these raves, because they are just not responsive. They were quick to quote ($100 higher than other services), but I couldn't get them to schedule a date. Emails went unanswered for days and their website boasts that unlike other services, you'll talk to a real person when you call them. However, all phone calls went to a voice mail message saying they had too many calls to respond to and to leave them an email - Catch 22. In frustration I figured I'd leave them a voice mail, but the inbox was full. Finally had to contact another service. Phew! read more

PRONTO is awesome at what they do! I decided not to use the delivery services/assembly company that is located at the Ikea in Brooklyn (those guys gave my mom and I 3 different price quotes for the SAME shipment and that seemed pretty shady to us). So I decided to take a chance and look up alternatives on yelp and stumbled upon PRONTO. We were pleased beyond our expectations! James was very prompt at responding to me with ONE affordable price quote and managed to squeeze our Ikea assembly within a mere 48 hours. Not only did the PRONTO team show up on time but they worked tirelessly until they were sure the job was done right. They assembled the biggest PAX wardrobe that Ikea offers (with sliding doors), a Hemnes Bed frame and also mounted two huge mirrors for us. They were personable, funny, and even creative when we realized that my studio wall/floor was uneven and made sure my wardrobe was leveled properly. We had such a good experience with PRONTO that we will surely be calling them again for other installations for our kitchen later this month. These guys know what they are doing, so if your looking for affordable prices, good service and exemplary work, PRONTO is definitely right for you. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would. These guys showed up on a cold, rainy day to install my Kvartal curtain panels from the ceiling. After looking at my ceiling and realizing it wouldn't hold the weight of the mounts, they came up with a great solution. A quick trip to the lumber yard and now I have panel curtains for my closet. They were quick in communicating and the guy that came to assemble the couch (pretty sure his name was Mamba) was great. We were a little worried that they had never assembled this particular Ikea couch (Friheten) but Mamba had that thing together in a under an hour. Also happy that they were transparent about the price (no hidden fees woohoo!) During the assembly he asked for a dustpan (!!) and even swept up. Wish I could say my experience was as good as the above poster - the delivery guys had a surly attitude the whole time, couldn't seem to figure out how to secure the mattress to the top of the van, and in the process snapped a bungee cable which whipped me in the arm leaving a bruise and broken skin. Also apparently they feel "delivery" does not include stairs (even one measly flight), unless you pay 25% more. It was nice to find this out AFTER my new mattress was blocking the entrance to my building. Even without this, they asked for more money at the end than I was quoted on the phone, even though there was no additional work involved. I would have been better off just using a car service or one of the many Man-With-A-Van style services on craigslist - much less money and probably less hassle. read more

well how can i start with how AWESOME they are!!! i know that there's a few of ikea delivery assembly service out there but you can't go wrong with pronto !! so.. i moved to new apartment and need some furniture from ikea -and after i realize that i won't be able to put it together by myself i decided to email them for quote, they get back to me promptly and after few phone call and emails - i scheduled for 11.15am on thursday i finished my shopping and get 3 drawer ,1 floor lamp and few other things along the way.. and called them- they picked me and drove me back to my apartment.. carry it up and assembly everything plus i have a few items that i ordered online and need assembly. well,they finished it really fast! i think in about an hour and a half they put together 3 drawers ,a clothing rack,my headboard and overbed table for me- the whole experience is just wonderful cos,they are really cool and professional plus they are really funny,too! for the price ,it is reasonable and i think it's probably the cheapest after i compared with other company i had called for quote. well, i will definitely use them again for sure! thank you,pronto!!! read more

These guys were awesome, and exactly what I needed. I didn't even go to the ikea in brooklyn, I went to the one in CT and needed them to meet me at my apartment when I got back and help carry down my old furniture, carry up my new ikea purchases, and put them together. They put it all together quickly and had cleary done every piece of Ikea furniture many times. Because they use powertools, my furniture feels very sturdy, almost like it was good furniture! Prices were in line with what I would have excpected. Hopefully I won't have to use them again (just redecorated and it better be awesome forever) but I highly recommend them. read more

I called James on a Friday morning to see when he could fit me in for an ikea pick up, delivery, and installation. To my surprise he said Saturday morning (as in the next day). I told him to let me think about it (i was still comparing options/quotes). When I called him back later that afternoon to confirm for Sat am he offered to meet me at Ikea Brooklyn in two hours! Wow! A few hours later my apt is complete with everything i needed from James and Mamba. Very efficient, timely , and professional. Worth every dime! Will use them again! After moving to NYC my girlfriend and I managed to get most of the furniture assembled ourselves, however, we struggled mightily with getting two large sliding doors to stay on the rails of a wardrobe unit. I made some calls and found out that most installers won't 'bother' with such a small job. James not only took the job he did great work in getting the doors installed and fixing little things with other other work my girlfriend and I had done. He stayed much longer than expected making sure everything was perfect -- even beyond my own high standards. He went an extra mile for us and didn't charge more than we agreed. I cannot imagine where I would be without Pronto, oh wait, sitting on the floor in an empty apartment. Moving in general is stressful, ikea is necessary but always ends up being so much more than you can chew. James and Pronto really took a lot of that stress away. They met us at ikea, brought all our stuff to the apartment, and then assembled everything. The price is per item and is really reasonable (SO WORTH IT). I got a PAX wardrobe and James put it together like a pro. Its super sturdy and it was amazing to just get home from work and see it fully assembled. i HIGHLY recommend Pronto, to me, there is no other way to have ikea furniture. read more

I purchased a closet that attaches to the wall from IKEA (the Algot system), and quickly realized there was no way in hell I'd be able to install it myself. These guys were super patient with us despite our unit having been in a mess on the second floor of a walkup with a tiny clearance. They hauled a sleeper sofa through its narrow winding corridors without any complaint. Konstantin and Valentin were extremely punctual, arriving early in the morning on the weekend, said hardly anything while assembly our IKEA furniture--but helpful whenever we asked anything--and finished right on time. I googled ikea assembly, found this business, and couldn't be happier than I am. I needed a massive wardrobe moved and assembled and James did it for a fair price in a reasonable amount of time. It also helps that he is one of the kindest most optimistic people I've come across in a while. I truly appreciate people that love their jobs- and James is one of them! Ikea should give him some sort of award because I doubt anyone in the world knows their products as well as him. Eventhough the floor in apartment is very-very-very uneven, they were able to fix the wardrobe, so sliding doors work perfectly. Plus we had a good time- really pleasant people.
