Amazing amazing experience. IKEA was giving us a ton of issues- their website was just not functioning and neither was their customer service. So I turned to PA to help and it was the BEST decision I made. They were so responsive and straightforward. The cost was totally worth it for the ease of delivery and the prices for furniture assembly were very competitive. Totally professional staff who were very respectful, wore masks and did a great job. Even when there was a problem with a part in the furniture that was defective, PA was there and on top of it. Very simple: use these guys instead of doing delivery through IKEA. IKEA outsources their delivery to one of the worst logistic companies I've ever seen. Perfect assembly folks arrived on time, delivered a very large order ($1500) up to a 4th floor walk up, and assembled everything perfectly. ALL THIS IN AN HOUR AND A HALF. They either broke or one of the pieces came broken, but they didn't hesitate to set up another appointment to deliver a new piece and return the broken one without any additional fees. They are very reliable and do a great job with the assembly. It completely takes the stress out of shopping at IKEA. Pleasantly surprised. Needed new Ikea furniture due to a recent move. I was limited with furniture choices to accommodate a cliche small NYC living space. Ikea was the best option but with a busy schedule and 2-flight walk up, chances are slim to none for me to assemble and haul large furniture by myself. Found out about Perfect Assembly on whim. Price quote is extremely fair compared to competitors and the process is customer friendly plus hassle free. Provided an Ikea shopping list for a quote, accepted price offered, locked date/time, and await for the magic to happen. Technician arrived on the dot. I was given a 1 hour window but he was not even a minute late. Assembly was extremely quick, detail oriented, tentative, and quiet. I have someone autistic at home and the furniture built process was barely noticeable to the ear. Furniture placement was cautious and it was a nice touch for the technician to double check and ask questions about placement due to small details like where wall outlets were. Even the cardboard boxes were nicely packed and cleared out in the end. This all was completed in 3 hours. I believe the assembly process time was a bit longer for me compared to other reviews due to multiple Alex caster drawers in my order. Payment was expected after everything was completed with a clear bill and the Ikea store receipt. Perfect Assembly was the most headache-free process during my move. I'd recommend them to anyone and would definitely consider using their service again. Don't hesitate if you need Ikea furniture. Amazing experience with Perfect Assembly. I only opted for the delivery since I had been in contact with someone who tested positive and did not want to spread it to the workers. They gladly worked with my situation and left the delivery outside my door and sent me an invoice that I could pay online. I had also added a small item last minute to my list and they got back right away and said that they could also grab it for me. Every correspondence with them was quick and helpful! What's not to like? I needed a sleeper sofa from IKEA delivered and assembled in my fourth-floor second bedroom. Did I mention walk-up? Did I mention curved staircase? I contacted Perfect Assembly with a general "what I want" email and Sarah emailed me back immediately (on a Sunday evening no less) to let me know generally that they could help me, what it would cost and how to fill out the shopping form on the IKEA website (very easy with her instructions). One day later, Serjiy is up in my bedroom making with the power tools and IKEA expertise. Neither he nor the other two delivery-only fellows complained about the stairs, they just got on with it, with an awesome attitude. I also got a couple of shoe rack/benches (Pinnigs) and some other odds and ends. Everything was delivered without a hitch. Once he was done, Serjiy made sure I was happy with everything and went over the IKEA receipt with me. Then he put together one invoice that included my IKEA cost, the delivery fee and the assembly fee. They take cash, check and credit card, with a 3 percent additional charge for credit card. (Tip is not included but y'all know to tip.) Nice to know: they buy at an IKEA in NJ, so you get a lower sales tax, plus I understand it's a bigger IKEA and thus more likely to have what you want in stock. Could I have done this more cheaply on my own? Probably. I'd have to rent a car and drive to NJ, pay the tolls... it's starting to get debatable... then there are the hospital bills I'd incur from falling down the stairs as I lug a freaking couch up four flights. I mean. Then there would be the divorce lawyers we'd be paying due to the fights we'd have over the boxes not even being opened, let alone parts being assembled into an actual couch, and NOW WHERE ARE PEOPLE GOING TO SLEEP, HUH? So yeah, I think we saved some money using Perfect Assembly, but of course YMMV. read more

Wow, these guys are amazing! I moved from CA to NYC and purchased some IKEA furniture online. They made me wait two weeks and gave me a ridiculous 18 hour delivery window... As if I could wait that long?! I got frustrated and came across Perfect Assembly on Yelp. I emailed them and got a 2 hour delivery window within the week. They came right within the window and were very efficient with delivering all of my items. I also wondered why my total cost for the furniture was cheaper - turns out that they bought it in NJ, so I paid NJ tax and not NYC tax (extra bonus!). One of my pieces was also challenging to build, so I hired one of them to assemble it for me. This guy was a complete pro. He was such an expert that he barely had to look at the instructions and was super efficient! Cleaned up the area nicely afterward, too. Highly recommend! read more

After I learned the hard way that IKEA's delivery service had Xtremely Poor Operating logistics, it was a relief to find Perfect Assembly. I live in a managed building, and Perfect Assembly helped me get the needed COI quickly, and they were able to work with the typical Manhattan building restrictions. Their price and turnaround time was reasonable and fair. The delivery of the big KIVIK sectional couch was on time and the delivery guys were professional. They arrive on time, and they'll take responsibility for anything they mess up during delivery. They broke a mirror once and didn't charge for it, which is only fair. Perfect assembly successfully delivered my furniture on time. My quote was from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and they arrived at 4:03pm. They do seem to value customer's placing orders for assembly more. When we got our quote for delivery and assembly, we decided we could assemble the furniture on our own. The delivery window was then pushed back a week when we said we no longer wanted assembly. When delivering the furniture, the movers were a little too hasty. They tried to jam through doorways and turns that the cart would not fit through. We had one table top and one bench top damaged. We aren't sure if it was because of the delivery or if they picked them up damaged. I'm sure it would something they noticed when assembling the furniture. The movers dropped everything off and ran off with the check before I could even double check that everything was there. read more

They emailed me a quote within 24 hours and I was able to book an appointment for delivery and assembly for a few days later (this was my first availability - they may have been able to come sooner). They were very clear and thorough in the email communication and called me when one of my items was out of stock at ikea and were able to find a similar item. They arrived at my apartment right on time and it took about an hour for them to assemble my bed and dresser. I paid by check because it was a little cheaper - saved me about $20. Cheap, fast, and on time! More on time than I was, in fact. I compared about 10 different handymen/assemblers on Yelp and they gave one of the best prices (some people wanted to charge well over twice as much). They were here exactly when they said they'd be, and were amazingly fast. Two guys assembled a couch and a fairly complex table (with drawers and folding sides) in about half an hour. I noticed another reviewer say that they took down the enormous boxes afterward. Even though I tipped, they unfortunately didn't do this for me. They folded them up somewhat but it was still a pain making several trips to take it all down; would have been easy for them to grab some since they were heading out anyway. read more

I was stuck trying to find a solution to get a new couch from IKEA in time for our move into a new apartment. IKEA delivery is weird in that they won't tell you WHEN you'll actually get your stuff until you place your order. Instead of leaving the delivery date up to chance, I contacted Perfect Assembly -- at first, I had wanted them to deliver and install my new couch, but it turned out they didn't have the right insurance for my co-op so we instead had them purchase the couch from IKEA and deliver to our old place, at least so our movers could move the couch upstairs for us. I didn't catch the name of the two young gentleman who delivered the couch, but they were fantastic! Arrived on time, and brought in the 3 cumbersome boxes with no complaints, even though it was pretty tough going (the boxes were quite large and heavy!). I felt terrible after asking them to bring one box down to our basement area, only to find it didn't fit and have them bring it back upstairs. Never once did they complain, constantly saying "it's no problem", and they worked efficiently and with a smile the whole time. I would absolutely use them again, as they are friendly, easy to schedule with and definitely worth the cost. I only wish they would expand the insurance they have so that I could have them actually deliver into my building (as opposed to having it delivered curbside). Highly recommended. read more
