I'd subtract a half star for delivery being a little outside the original window, but it was still the same day, so that was no big deal. Highly recommended. read more

Peace and Good afternoon, Mamba and James recently came to my new apartment in Cliffside Park, NJ to assemble two separate Besta units in an original configuration that was Inspired by a promotional Ikea image for my office space. They arrived ahead of schedule, despite commuting to my small town from Brooklyn and helped carry some of the larger unit pieces up to my second floor apartment that I could not manage to haul up the stairs last night. These two are professional and personable, which truly made mines a great experience. I picked up two incorrect pieces for the exact configuration displayed in the Ikea promotion, but they still helped me achieve better than my target vision for the space. While putting together the shelving units for the base and the wall, they conversed with me; however stayed true to the task at hand to ensure quality while I got work and research done in the living room. The wall looks fantastic and I will post a picture of it shortly for your consideration if any of you are considering them for your Besta installation as well. What scored the most cool points with me was their adaptability. I originally contracted them to pick up my Ikea things; however advised them in advance that I will pick up the needed items myself due to budgeting and they understood plus adjusted accordingly immediately. James and his team not only made my life much easier by assembling some complicated IKEA pieces for me, but they really did go above and beyond. My story: I went to IKEA on a Saturday and pieced out 2 fairly well sized wardrobes and a daybed frame that doubles as an extra bed in addition to possessing 3 drawers (storage in this city is very necessary). I planned on having everything delivered, but IKEA makes you go to the self-service section and pick everything out, cart it to the register to pay, and then cart it to the delivery station which delivered to Manhattan for $99. After much heavy lifting, an imaginary hernia, and cursing like a sailor, I realized there was no way in hell I was going to be able to assemble my furniture on my own before my lease was up. I spent the rest of the day researching assembly services, craigslist, etc. I found Pronto through Yelp and the reviews were fantastic. I sent him an email requesting a quote at 1 in the morning. On Sunday, the very next day, James and his crew were at my door by 2 PM. The prices he quoted for assembly were more than fair, and I even learned that they will GO TO IKEA, BUY YOUR FURNITURE FOR YOU, DELIVER IT, AND ASSEMBLE IT for you (additional charges for this, but competitive with IKEA's own pricing model). They put together my intimidating pieces, were personable, friendly, efficient, and nice. In my delusion during the day of purchase, I forgot to get an extra set of hinges for a set of doors on one wardrobe. A few days later, James went to IKEA, got the hinges, some doorknobs (which I hadn't originally thought of), and an extra closet rod. He came back and installed them for me, and only charged me the cost of the items. I wish I knew about them before I went and did some of it myself - they are so great, and they also specialize in moving this kind of furniture too. They know the names of the collections and are so well versed, they can help make recommendations and plan. James is a true businessman, and really does go the extra mile. read more

Are they good? I DUNNO! I had to hire another company because they left me waiting two days with no response to phone calls or emails and I had an unforgiving schedule. I find nothing more frustrating than lousy communication. I had already agreed to a quote, but after 2 days of leaving voicemails and non-responsive email inquiries, I had to hire a different company. Pronto finally emailed me on day 3, snapping their fingers, requesting that I fill out Ikea credit card authorization forms to be returned ASAP. They quoted me $373 bucks. The bright side is that during that time, I found Perfect Assembly, who responded within 2 hours, and were hired and booked before Pronto's Ikea request form hit my inbox. Sorry, not sorry. Perfect Assembly was also more affordable and didn't require me to pay for the merchandise in advance. Perfect Assembly delivered what Pronto could not, and they did it for $255. read more

While they responded to my email quickly, they hardly answered the phone. The worst part was they quoted my friend a different price for the exact same assembly and wanted to charge me $100 more! When I told them this they kept denying it and saying it wasn't possible making me feel as if I'm lying to them. Mentally, I was prepared to be on my new Ikea mattress on the floor of my new bedroom for at least a week. But in walked Jay and Mamba from Pronto. They actually OFFERED to do a late assembly the day I inquired about the quote, which was yesterday. They put up my bed, sofa, 3-drawer dress and tv stand in just under 2hrs. Additionally, we spent roughly 30mins discussing design ideas for the rest of my apt. When told about my busted window (which leads to the fire escape) they came to my rescue with a temporary fix until my landlord can do what he should've done during the renovations. Finally, with all the excitement of a crack whore finding a secret stash, the evening ended with them leading me to what is the BEST jerk chicken spot in (likely) all of NYC. I only used Pronto for assembly and not pick up, so I can't speak to that. As far as assembly goes, they were excellent. Much better than any of the random one-off craigslisters I had used in the past. They were very willing to work around our schedule (my wife and I both work long hours so can really only do this stuff at night). I dealt with James and he arrived already familiar with the assembly instructions for everything I had quoted them for. He was professional, friendly, courteous, and did the job as quoted. These guys are a awesome if you can reach them. I'm gonna tell you now: email and call them like weeks in advance especially if you're moving in the summer, and if you're moving the same time all the colleges are moving, then definitely msg him ahead of time. It might take a few days to a week to actually lock down the appt. These guys are a godsend though if you can get them and they'll definitely show up and help you move all your ikea stuff. The delivery is definitely cheaper than what IKEA offers and is cheaper still if you pay for assembly of things. Finally, there might be an extra charge if you live on the higher floors or if there's no elevator. Make sure to have your list of items and email it ahead of time to James and his people so he can give you a good estimate of the cost. I believe they only take cash too so be prepared. TIP: First, If you're moving in on the weekend go EARLY and i mean like as the door opens. The worst thing you want is for your items not to be there and have to rehire them to get items for you. Second, the best time is probably mid week weds thurs as they restock items and less of a crowd to get through. Do all this and moving should be a breeze. read more

I had an 8-foot tall ikea PAX wardrobe with 6 drawers, shelves, and handles to install. The two guys who came from Pronto came right on time as scheduled and it took them just a few hours to put it together (It probably would have taken me two days and a strong friend who is good with tools to complete it). The whole experience was stress-free and a less expensive alternative to IKEA's assembly service. I emailed pronto for a quote and they got back to me the same day. I requested to have it installed the following day which they kindly accommodated to. I plan to call them again when I move out in a year for them to disassemble and move to a new place. I could not have moved from overseas into my new apt in NYC without Pronto! I emailed them 2 weeks in advance with my IKEA shopping list to get a quote for assembly and delivery and a few days later they replied my email. (I do have to warn you, BE PERSISTENT and PATIENT with Pronto. It took me several emails and phone calls to get through and finally confirm my appointment.) I was a little disappointed that they had to rearrange my original appointment for a day later due to over bookings. But nevertheless, once I arrived in NYC, I immediately called Pronto to reconfirm my appointment and we were good to go. For an additional $30 fee, Pronto also sends you help to grab the bigger furniture items off the shelves at IKEA. This was a huge help given my petite stature and I was all by myself. After he arrived, we spent 1 -1.5 hour shopping at IKEA with my shopping list and drove off to my new home. They spent another 2-3 hours to assemble the bedroom (chest of drawers, bed, desk, and bookshelf). I thought the price was reasonable, especially compared to IKEA Brooklyn which had terrible service staff! Despite the initial difficulty in locking down an appointment with Pronto, I was satisfied with the result. Two team members worked through dinner time and I provided pizza and soft drinks. Pronto is amazing! where do i even start. they got to my house at 830am and i made the monumental error of getting an ikea dresser, that has two boxes, and 1 box for a 6 drawer chest and 1 for an 8 drawer chest. the guy stayed in my apt while i ran out to my car to find the receipt. he took the wrong box back to ikea where he found out you have to bring both boxes and do a complete refund to fix my mistake. then he came back to my apt, took the other box and then went back to ikea again! he did the exchange, brought back the correct dresser with the extra amount on a gift card. he put it together perfectly and quickly. me and my husband were thoroughly impressed by their diligence and efficiency. def will ask them for any future furniture assembly. read more

These guys were AMAZING! I called them the night before, and they were able to find time on a thursday afternoon. I ordered three pieces of furniture from Ikea, and they went to the store and bought everything. I also bought a mattress from Sleepy's and they didn't have any in Manhattan, just at a location in Queens, so while the delivery guys were out on their trip, for a minimal fee (60 dollars) they changed their plans, went to Sleepys, picked up the mattress for me, and then delivered that as well! I was able to finish preparing for my new place. This service was absolutely wonderful and I will definitely be recommending it to everyone I know, as well as using their service again. I had a great experience with Pronto. The Ikea shuttle does not leave the train station until 11am so James picked me up at the train station at 10am so I could check out before the weekend rush arrived. Once I checked out, he loaded my furniture into the car. Did I mention my building's elevator broke down on the way up to my apartment and most of my furniture was stuck inside for at least an hour and a half. James was patient and mounted my TV on the wall while he was waiting. Once the elevator was repaired, he assembled all of my furniture with lightning speed and did not complain once. Shopped online for different places that would assemble my ikea furniture. After talking to a few places, pronto had the best prices and best availability. They are punctual and professional. They put together a massive ikea wardrobe for me, actually 3 wardrobes that they attached to each other to be 1 big one. They also did some bookcases and the work was perfect. Since two of the wardrobe doors were broken, James came back again to install them when I had replaced them for no additional cost. They are very accessible and super nice too!
