Would give zero stars if I could. My husband and I hired him about a month ago to pick up, deliver, and assemble ikea furniture for us as well as mount our three TV's at our Westchester, NY home for today, the 18th of February. We were in communication with him all month confirming the date of February 18th. Every several days he and my husband would talk about February 18th. The night before (Feb 17th), we reached out for a final confirmation, and he confirmed yes, the 18th. Then we reached back to set a time frame for him to show up the next day. No response. My husband had to call him the morning of the 18th and he told us, "I'm not coming, I'm in Florida". Please explain to me how one confirms time and time again, including the night prior - then has to be tracked down and tells the customer, "I'm on the opposite side of the country". Not only is this extremely dishonest and unprofessional, but this behavior also lacks common courtesy and human decency. Absolutely unreliable and wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

WOW - Russell really dropped the ball on this one. I wanted to purchase a couch w/chaise from Ikea and use Russell again since it was so easy the first round. My building only allows for deliveries like this from 9-5pm on Monday-Friday so I had to take a day off of work to get this couch. I texted him on a Monday to see if he was available on a Wednesday. I said I would be getting a couch so I would need him to meet me at the Ikea loading zone w/ the couch, take me and said couch back to my apt and possibly assemble it. I said about 3/4pm for the pick up and that I would text him when I was in line for the furniture pick up to allow plenty of transit time for him to reach Ikea. I got an 'OK' text from his number on Tuesday night. I was also at Ikea on Tuesday to make sure that the couch I wanted was indeed what I wanted and that it was in stock for me to pick up on Wednesday. I should have just ordered delivery from Ikea then and there... Anyway, I got to Ikea a bit early on Wednesday and was able to pay for the couch and wait at the pick up window. At 3pm I texted Russell to say I was in line for the pick up and to give me a text when he was close to Ikea so I could meet in the loading zone. No answer At 3:50pm I texted Russell to say I picked up my furniture and that I was ready to meet him in the loading zone. No answer I then called at 4:02 and left a message. at 4:03pm I get a text 'GUYS JUST CALLED ME, THEY IN ACCIDENT SAYS.' as well as 'CAN YOU TAKE A TAXI SERVICE THERE?' WHAAAAAATTTT????? Of course I hope no one is hurt and that everyone is ok but come on. Would I have gotten any response had I not called???? And no, I can not take a taxi from Ikea with a couch. Needless to say, that was the only text message I got from Russell. No phone call, no text message with any sort of applogy, nothin'. Bummer. So I had to schedule a delivery w/ the Ikea delivery service after all that. I could have gotten a 7-11pm window if my builing allowed it but no, next day between 11-3pm. So even though the couch arrived at around 1pm, I still had to take another day off. Good thing I won't be getting anymore large items from Ikea anytime soon. What a joke. I emailed Russell Sunday night about using this company to pickup stuff from IKEA, deliver, and assemble. Russell was pretty responsive via email and we agreed that I would meet him at 10 am at IKEA Brooklyn on Wednesday so I could pay with my credit card (didnt want to have that much cash on me). I get to IKEA right at 10 and text Russell to say Im there. No response. At 10:15 I write him a quick email. No response. At 10:30 I call, no answer. At 11 I call again and finally get through to him. Russell doesnt really speak english well but he kept muttering the delivery truck was there. So I ask where should I meet him and he hangs up. I call again and email twice. No response. At noon I called it quits and head home. So more or less this company wasted 3 days leading me on and 4 hours of my life getting to and waiting at IKEA. My husband and I had been casually thinking about replacing our uncomfortable sofa we hastily bought just 4 or 5 months ago after moving into a new apartment and in dire need of seating. This past week, I decided to stop being so casual. On Friday, I shopped at a few places and finally, on Saturday, decided that we would go with the love seat size of the Ikea Kivik series, from which we previously owned a sofa size piece. On Sunday, I wanted to go to the store to see the different fabric colors and I called Russell that morning before venturing out to the Brooklyn store to take a look to get an estimate for delivery/assembly. He answered right away and was quick to assist me with an estimate and insisted that he could even deliver that evening. As I was unsure about whether or not I wanted to purchase the couch, I told him I would call him from the store. Long story a little shorter, decided to hold off to figure out logistics of getting rid of our crappy sofa and ended up following up with Russell Tuesday morning. He was very accommodating as to scheduling delivery for that evening. He talked me into the shopping service (where I simply provided him with the article # and his guys would purchase from the store), delivery (to Greenwich Village in Manhattan) and assembly (1 hour estimate, $50/hr) for a total of $150 (oh yeah...I live in a 3rd floor walk up!). I was even able to negotiate an extremely reasonable price with Russell for his guys to carry our old sofa out of our apt, down the 2 flights of stairs, into their truck and AWAY from our apartment (super was giving me a hard time about leaving our sofa on the street for bulk collection and I didn't want to ruffle feathers). He estimated a delivery window for me of 7p-8p...the guys showed up at 7:22p...per-freaking-fecto. Took them about an hour to bring up the pieces, bring out the old couch, AND assemble the new couch. I paid the price Russell estimated for me just earlier today (plus the price of the love seat, for which we received the receipt). It's 9:30p and I'm now relaxing on the couch with my husband and with the Rockets game on, having gone through this seamless process of purchasing, delivering, and assembling a new piece of furniture in the city....with no car (a process that I have been mentally avoiding for weeks due to my fear of it's likely annoyances), with HUGE thanks to Russell, his team and their significant assistance! read more

Just recently did a small move with Russel and his colleague. Good experience - he kept in touch via text and gave us updates as he had to reschedule the time from 11am to 1pm - no biggie for us. They were patient despite not having a real parking spot on E 47th, moving furniture down and accross the street. They moved a king sized bed, bed frame, a really heavy coffee table and other misc stuff for us. We even got a ride to Queens in his sprinter van where we were headed. They can't make miracles happen if Ikea is out of stock on your item or if traffic is bad. Ordered a dresser from the IKEA store and put down more than what the dresser itself cost for the home delivery service. The specified timeframe for delivery was 2-6 PM. Fast forward to the day of delivery, and not only does the service IKEA uses not call the correct phone number, they arrive BEFORE the specified timeframe and pressure us as if we were the ones late. When they finally deliver the item, turns out they delivered the WRONG ITEM, but there was no way to tell until the package was opened because there were no labels whatsoever on it. Calling customer service did not help beyond getting a case number opened, and the resolution manager in charge of handling messes like this ("Tafara") has no contact information. We manage to identify the lady with whom our packages were mixed up (without any help whatsoever from IKEA or its contractors), and have to pay out of pocket to make sure we get our large, bulky furniture items. What is the point of paying for a home delivery service if 1) the package doesn't even get delivered to the home and, worse, 2) we have to re-deliver the mistaken package to someone else ourselves? The least thing IKEA could have done was have a resolution manager that can actually be contacted to resolve these issues. Had we known this would happen, we would have simply lugged it home ourselves, or better yet, not bought from this store to begin with. read more
