What a find!! Fred and his team took excellent care of my clock needs! I've had a tiny cuckoo clock (except there is no cuckoo bird!) that my dad had brought home from Germany in the early 1950's. I don't remember ever seeing it run. I've had it for years and finally decided we should get it looked at. I had another mantel clock that needed service because a new battery did not make it run. Took them both to Promenade Clocks. The cost to repair/clean them was totally reasonable. And they were both ready for pickup in less than a week! Fred and his shop is a treasure right here in Richardson! It's almost like a time museum. Fred showed us around and he really knows his clocks! Aweome!! Have a vintage cuckoo clock that a family member gifted us many years ago after they were living in Germany. It most definitely has never been serviced and I started looking around to find a place to get it all tuned up. Much to my surprise I ran across Promenade Clocks and realized they were really close to me. I was resigned to probably having to ship it to find the right service place. I dropped it off and really enjoyed my visit, LOTS of super cool cuckoo and Grandfather clocks of all shapes and sizes on site and learned from the staff that it was a family run business since the 1960's. Got a call back in just a few days that all was ready and I was good to go. Went to pickup and was given the rundown on how to mount and set the clock properly, and what too look for in case I had any issues. Included repair sticker inside with the repair warranty info. Top notch, excellent repair and customer service. Really happy I got this off of my to do list and a solid recommendation to anyone looking for a quality repair for their favorite family heirloom. I have had two walk clocks repaired here, and both times the clocks were in great condition and with a warrantee. I have several very antique and quite delicate clocks, including a 200yr. old British grandfather clock, as well as some antebellum kitchen and mantel clocks which they regularly service for me. Mark came to my house, about 50 miles from their store, and not only performed a much needed tune-up on my grandfather clock, but also serviced my mother's wall clock that I'd inherited. The latter hadn't been working for about 15 years, and had just been stored away. Mark's hands knew exactly where to reach to tweak the hammers and chimes, etc. to make them like new - and so fast! And when he was done he volunteered to hang the wall clock! In the past I've paid about 3-4 times what Mark charged for a tune-up on my grandfather clock!!! And the other guys didn't come half as far as he did. Truly I am impressed!!! And besides that, when I first called Promenade Clocks, I talked to Fred. He tried real hard to save me any money at all, and walked me through correcting my grandfather clock so it wouldn't chime 3 extra gongs on each hour. "Wow", is an understatement!!!! read more

Great service. I believe they charged $125 for home visit. I forgot the person's name, but he is the son of the owner and has been doing it for many years. Very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. After a long move, my grandfather clock was stopping after 5 min. He adjusted some things inside, balanced the feet, cleaned and oiled the mechanism and it has been 3 months without any issues. I would recommend this place. read more

Beware when making purchases from this retailer. My wife purchased a wall clock over the phone with the owner of the store. She explained that this clock was a gift, and asked if she could return it if it turned out to be the wrong clock. The owner agreed. The clock turned out to be incorrect. So we brought it back to the store the very next day still new in the box. We asked the owner for a refund. The owner refused to give us a refund, even after reminding him of the conversation he had with my wife over the phone. We then asked if we could get a store credit. The owner refused again. He stated that "this is not Walmart where you can bring something back just because you don't like it." Please do not make your watch or clock purchases from the store. Based on this experience I would recommend you look elsewhere. read more

I have a Black Forest cuckoo clock with significant intrinsic value. Unfortunately, it fell off its wall hook and stopped running about 3 years ago. I procrastinated and just let it alone without tending to it. About two weeks ago, I resolved to have the clock repaired. I called Promenade about a minute after it opened and asked if I needed an appointment for a clock repair. Told I could just drop by for an estimate, I was there about 15 minutes later with my clock and story. I never did get his name but the person who I believe to be the owner came out of his workshop as soon I arrived, inspected the clock, tightened the hands, moved some of the internals and told me that the clock was good to go. And it was! A clock that I thought required extensive repair was running again. I was told my repair and maintenance options but for the time being, the conclusion was that the clock did not need any repairs beyond what was done on the spot. The clock is keeping great time two weeks later. Lessons learned - these German clocks are as tough as they are beautiful and Promenade is a valuable resource for anyone who needs clock repairs. Promenade will have my business for as long as I have my clock. read more

First I should put this out there...I am a bit of a clock fanatic, and this place is like a candy store to me! I own way to many clocks, but am always on a quest for more. You also need a good clock repair person for a hobby like this. This store has both! Located in the Promenade shopping center in Richardson at the bottom level underneath the tower. They specialize in grandfather clocks, cuckoo clocks, desk and wall clocks. They can also professionally move clocks for you, as I have had them do. When they moved one of my grandfather clocks for me, they were on time at both locations and took their time to set it up properly. I have also taken them clocks for cleaning and for repairs. Every time, they have done a great job. I have even had to have them have a tough conversation with me when the repair my clock needed was much more than my clock was worth. They handled it delicately as to not offend me in case my clock had sentimental value. First class place that does fantastic work! read more

The second hand of my husband's watch broke off and they offered to repair in store while I waited for a very modest fee. Was very impressed with his fast they were able to fix the watch, and how affordable they were. Other businesses gave me estimates of $75+ so I was very happy. read more

We have a Sligh manual-windup wall clock that completely stopped running in summer of 2020. It is about 25 years old and had never been serviced. I don't "know" clocks, and I don't think of this as a "fine piece", however I do think of it as a nice clock. It certainly does keep time very well and has a nice chime mechanism. My understanding from Promenade is that a clock like this can be expected to need some level of service / rebuilding after 20 years or so. After servicing, I picked up the clock on September 15, 2020 and it has been on our wall since then and it has not missed a "tick". Sometimes you can determine if a person is "into" what they do for a living just by listening to them and interacting with them. I got that impression that Promenade is "into" clocks when I left the clock there. As modest as it may sound, that is my opinion. read more

I spent over $200.00 to have my watch cleaned and adjusted after buying a new battery there. The watch stopped working after that and they didn't want to anything to do with me after that. They said the timing was off after keeping the watch for 3 weeks and said it was repaired. Tag Watch - untrustworthy service, do not stand behind their work. He repaired our grandfather clock as well as 2 wall clocks with chiming issues. He also diagnosed a mantle clock needing future repairs. Reasonable rates.
