I don't remember ever seeing it run. I've had it for years and finally decided we should get it looked at. I had another mantel clock that needed service because a new battery did not make it run. Took them both to Promenade Clocks. The cost to repair/clean them was totally reasonable. And they were both ready for pickup in less than a week! Fred and his shop is a treasure right here in Richardson! It's almost like a time museum. Fred showed us around and he really knows his clocks! Ended up with mostly 1 oz rounds and a couple smaller pieces. Easy process. The transaction was smooth and honest. They actually talk to you and make you feel welcome, not rushed or pressured. If you're new to silver and gold, they explain things without talking down to you. Sometimes the lines are long but that only proves that these guy are exceptionally awesome . I called other coin shops before going here. One wanted $8 premium on rounds and $10 on Silver Eagles -- straight ripoff. These guys were a lot more fair and resealable. I asked them their premiums up front and they told me straight up $1.50 on rounds and $3.50 to $4.50 on Silver Eagles cant remember. At the time, silver spot was around $80-$81. And change. Even though this place isn't the closest to my house, I'll drive out of my way to come here. Worth it. Good experience, good people, fair prices. I'll be back. And yes, in a tiny store like that, if someone starts speaking to me, I'm going to be friendly. The funny part is the guy i had a conversation with (while we were waiting) is an Auctioneer that worked a charity event i attended. We knew some of the same people. We laughed about some stuff and that was it. He never complained to you and you know it. As far as replacing "valuable" pennies? What are you talking about? I brought in a box of Pennies, he looked at every one of them, made an offer, i countered, he refused. I knew nothing about them, he explained why his offer was fair. so i accepted his offer. Then he paid me, and i took that money and spent all of it in his store. End of story The ONLY time we EVER questioned him is when he offered us 30$ for some 90% silver we had brought in. Which was ridiculous (that was when silver was bouncing around at 75$/ounce). When i asked him why so low?, he simply said "the refiners aren't buying - and don't want it". So....I politely said, "ok, no worries, i might just wait till silver goes back up again." Well he clearly did not appreciate that response at all! and visibly became irritated with me, but at least he didn't start screaming at this point. He knew i knew absolutely nothing about silver or coins. BTW, the next day i sold those same coins for 50$ per 1$ value. Anyway, as far as your suggestion about finding another coin dealer, i think i could throw a rock and hit one less nutty than this one.

I dropped my ring off and that lady was amazing, she talked me through everything, she was great. But then I got a call... and was told 4 times that my ring was made from lab rubies/diamonds.... it felt like a slight, I know they had to test it but I dont get why she asked if I knew or why I was getting a phone call with that being the primary conversation.... when they were focusing on tightening the prongs.. I was well aware I had a lab grown ruby and diamonds.... doesn't make me any less but it felt like she tried too.. Then im told that my ring will be out for 3-4 weeks if I keep in house, if they send it out it'll be less time... I wanted to think about it, then decide to send it out and im told it'll still be 3-4 weeks.. mixed info but okay sure im still on board... then on that same phone call I ask if they know exactly how long and if I can hold it until they work on it and she goes 'no, why?' And I say 'well it's my wedding ring....' and she goes 'ok, why?' And I said 'because I want to wear my wedding ring' At this point I dont understand why I have to justify wanting to wear my wedding ring...... So then I decide to send my ring out, I get no updates.... I had to message them and ask when it was coming in and then was told 'it comes back next thursday we'll send you updates'.... and they did not... I had to respond today on the day of and let them know im coming, to which they finally responded it was ready... One lady was nice, but the lack of customer service, the remarks regarding my ring and the inability to do as they say and follow up, assures I wont be going back. Today i was told by one of the main folks there, after stringing me along for several Weeks telling me she and other merchants were interested in purchasing some vintage/antiqua items iI have for m sale, that "she was going to purchase however she didnt want to have to deal with someone like me" .. unsure what thats supposed to mean. Maybe she meant I actually follow up with people when I say Im going to. Had the same exact experience on 2 other occasions when wanting to purchase an item; and then when I tried renting a booth and becoming a vendor. ZERO follow through. Always seem to have attitude as if they are above others Prob my LAST time to deal with them. Plenty of other good places that treat their customers WAY better.
