Dropped off two clocks, a Seth Tomas mantel clock, and a Colonial of Zeeland Grandfather clock Mfg in1977 to be checked and lubricated. The store attendant stated they probably needed new movements but she would have her clock guy check them out and would call me back with repair quotes. I was most interested in lubrication. Surprise surprise they both needed new movements. $$$$. Interestingly when I picked them up (no repair done) she commented that she was not sure movements were available for the Colonial clock. read more

They have repaired my wedding rings and put new bands on watches along with replacing the batteries. We plan on having our grandfather clock serviced in the near future. Brought my Marathon watch in for sizing after I spent a hour trying to do it myself. They were able to size the watch and get the screws out that cost me an hour and alot of my sanity. Called before driving to shop, explained the problem with my RW. Employee said no problem, I have a RW and they fix it all the time. When I got to the shop, the guy that does the work told me that they don't work on expensive watches. And that he could send it out, but it would be a week to get it back and he didn't know what it would cost. So I'm just suppose to give this guy my watch for a week not knowing what it's going to cost. Then he wanted to charge me $25 dollars for a battery that cost less than $.75 cents on Amazon. I would stay as far away from this place for any of your watch or clock repairs tooooo costly for the working man. read more

i brought in an expensive 1970s Rolex into the store to get resized and the woman started shaking the watch and slammed it against the marble table top she had which probably put some scratches on it. She advised me to shake the watch and said it was good for the watch to shake it. I checked in with some real professionals and they said not to shake the watch because that breaks it. Basically she tried to brake my watch to convencive me to pay to have it fixed. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! They wanted me to hand over my Rolex to them to fix it for 650$ when they are the ones trying to break it in the first place so i would pay to have it fixed. I wish i realized thats what she was doing sooner. I am to trusting of people. read more

They have worked on many clocks for me, including rare cuckoo clocks and they are very reasonable. This last time I brought in a watch to replace a battery. The same battery replacement was quoted at $118 another store, that too with a very poor attitude. Over here they did it for me in 10 minutes while I waited and the cost - $25! Without question, absolutely the best place for repairing and restoring grandfather clocks is King Arthur Clock & Jewelry. Thirty-five years ago, I purchased a grandfather clock for an anniversary present to my wife. It was serviced in San Diego about twelve years ago and never again worked properly. Moving to Texas, the grandfather clock mechanism and clock face sustained additional damage. For this year's anniversary, it meant a lot to us to have it restored. After researching many places to have it repaired, the shop owner Margerie convinced us they would be able to do the restoration. They came to our house to pick up the grandfather clock and estimated it could take three to four months to obtain and fabricate the necessary parts, and do the repairs. Three months later, they notified us the grandfather clock was ready and scheduled delivery back to our house. The technician arrived at the appointed time, was very professional and accommodating, setting up the grandfather clock where we wanted. The technician made sure it worked and everything was to our satisfaction before leaving. Not only did the grandfather clock perform as good, if not better than, as when we first got it thirty-five years ago, King Arthur restored its appearance to like new condition. Absolutely amazing!!! F-UP MY WATCH DONT TAKE your watch for anything there. Went to get a battery replaced. They scratch the back of my watch by using the wrong tool and strip the cap that covered the watch battery. For 22.00 WTF. Just for a battery! You would think a place that sells watches and clocks they would know how to take care of people stuff. I can imagine the clocks they sell. Will break down after you buy it. And charge you a alot of money to fix what they broke. read more

I needed the battery on my movado watch replaced and first went to fast fix in Collin creek mall. They wanted $60. (not discounting Fast fix- they are very credible, but also very expensive). DO NOT TAKE EXPENSIVE WATCHES HERE! I brought my Omega here for a resizing and battery replacement. I had taken it to Jarrods to ask about battery replacement, and they suggested King Arthur. I wouldve sent it directly to Omega, but needed the watch quickly. Boy, do I regret taking it to King Arthur. I called them before bringing in my watch. They said they can resize and replace the battery on my omega. When I got there, the younger man with glasses worked to resize it. I only needed one link taken out. It took him about 20 minutes, and he mangled one of the metal bars used in the links. No big deal. Disappointing, but I am guessing those metal bars are cheap to replace. He claimed that Omegas were the only watches he had trouble resizing. Then, he replaced the battery. When he was taking the back off, he started using a small tool in the notches of the back of the watch. This left gouges, scratches, and tool marks on the back of my watch. I was shocked that they would mess it up that badly. At the end of the day, they apologized, didnt charge for the resizing or battery replacement, and offered to polish my watch for me. That doesnt remove the deep scratches and gouges left on the back of my watch. This should have never happened. How they screwed it up that badly is beyond belief. The owner was polite about it. But, I was somewhat insulted by his comments. He asked how much I paid for it, which was $1500 new. He then said I would only get $300 or $400 if I tried to sell it, suggesting the scratches werent a big deal. WRONG - I told him that often, Omegas appreciate in value. A quick check online confirmed this. Used, my watch should still (surprisingly) sell for what I originally paid for it. Well, it would have, if it didnt get gouged in the back by King Arthur. read more

This business has been around for decades, and the old-fashioned business shows. Stopped by to have a broken clasp replaced on a necklace, but they do not have a jeweler on site. I was told that they have to send it out and it will take at least a week. Not interested in handing over a three-stone diamond necklace to someone for at least a week. read more

Went in there with a 30 year anniversary clock (that was valued at $600); it was a 400 day clock. It only needed the stem replaced! What I got back a MONTH later was not the same clock! The base was metal; the retuned one was plastic! The back of the face plate was metal, got back plastic. Things were replaced unnecessarily and this IS not the clock I took in but a cheap replacement! Go somewhere else! read more

Had a Grandfather clock that needed repair and a mantle clock. The cost was reasonable (about $300). The repair man was not able to fix the mantle clock in the house so he said he had to take it into the shop to repair. It took forever for the mantle clock to get fixed. It has been a year now and both clocks need repair again for the same problems we originally had. I am not going back here because the repairman was not very polite and told us he should have charged me more to fix the clocks because of the amount of time it took to repair them. I took a beloved wall clock in for repair. I had always had good feelings about the clock shop and love the many ticking grandfathers and other clocks there. At first the owner seemed friendly and helpful and even though he quoted $70 for repairing my clock, I agreed to it and filled out my name and address for him. As I was leaving he attempted to give me a political bumper sticker which I declined saying we were on opposite political sides and said "we just look at things differently." But he persisted in engaging me in a political dialog and when some of the things he said sounded extreme to me, I went to the back, picked up my clock and left. It was a VERY unpleasant experience. I wasn't looking for a political tirade. I just wanted to get my clock fixed. I will NEVER return. read more

Had a small 6" round clock with a non-functioning hour hand even though the second hand was functioning fine. The owner fixed it in 30 seconds flat. When I asked the cost, she refused to receive any payment because she said it was a super easy fix. "It was nothing," she said. I took an old mantle clock in to have the chime mechanism fixed. The clock was working fine, just not the chime. This clock had been in my family for a long time and had sentimental value for me. When I took the clock in it had 4 different chime options. When I got it back the new chime mechanism only had two melodies. I inquired about that and the young man said, "You didn't ask for 4 melodies". I guess I was wrong for assuming I would get back what I had given them. He also said that to get 4 melodies it would be more expensive than what I had already given them. This was a very disappointing experience. read more
