Diedre asked a few pointed questions about Erin's personality and within minutes had an amazing idea to propose. Normally I would have never even thought about the design she came up with - a beautiful hammered gold band with a gorgeous setting which allowed light to shine through the diamond. She nailed it! Erin was impressed and immediately fell in love with it - fitting her personality precisely. Diedre always followed up, provided thorough information and gave some really cool drawings of the ring design. They resized the ring free of charge and within the same day. I've waited 5 days to decide to write this review. Over the last couple of weeks I've taken in…read moreabout 10 pieces of jewelry to be repaired, restrung, resized, cleaned, etc. Two sets of pearls restrung, multiple rings resized or repaired, earrings repaired, tightening of prongs, cleaning, etc. resulting in about $1200 in costs. I also took several pieces of gold jewelry to be sorted by karat and examined to be sold. When I got the offer for the gold it seemed like it could be a very low offer so I had my son pick up the pieces and bring them home. I still had 2 rings to pick up from that point and when I nice MAN called and said they were ready I went to pick them up. I was greeted warmly by Irena (one of the nicest people you will ever meet). Roluca Cohen (the mgr. who had helped me with all of it originally and who gave me the gold offer) was there helping another customer. As Irena was checking me out, my balance was $100, Roluca pipes up, in the middle of helping her customer, and says, "she has a balance!" Irena looked at her a little shocked and back at me. She seemed embarrassed by what Roluca said. I just held up my hands in a shrug. It was insulting. Did she think I was going to abscond with my rings without paying the $100 balance? It certainly sounded like she was concerned. I had planned to have all my other gold rings sold and the stones made into a specially designed ring but I will no longer do it there. I won't patronize their store again. All these positive reviews about how nice "Bob" is with which to work? I never saw a Bob. Maybe he was a previous owner. I'm unsure. I don't know what Roluca's issue was but what started as a positive experience a couple of weeks ago ended so negatively. As my family says, I'm too trusting in the sincerity of some people. This was probably one of those times. FYI: I got a much higher offer for the gold elsewhere.

The chain broke, o ring that held chain to clasp opened up. I took the chain in to ask them to put the o ring back and squeeze shut. I was advised that would cost me $30.00 as it needed to be sodered. i have arthritis in my hands and am unable to hold the tiny pieces with my hands. I went to my sisters (who also has purchased many of jewelry from them) and the 2 of us were able to put the necklace back together. We are both disappointed in their customer service and have both decided to no longer shop with them. My suggestion, go to Diamonds Direct, much better customer service, quality and price.

I just bought a beautiful Tudor BB68 and an Omega Aqua Terra 41 with a truly stunning turquoise dial, lots of compliments and I've only worn it twice! Manager came over and introduced herself last time and gave me a really nice Tudor umbrella which was a nice bonus and made me feel appreciated. Now on the "list" for a Yachtmaster 40 Rhodium. Hope to get a DJ Purple for my wife after that and I got my eye on the Tudor BB Pro, just hope they come out with it in a 42 like the Rolex (it looks very similar) because 39's are a bit small for me. Ultimately though we DID NOT have the same experience that our family member did, I guess because we were unhappy with their work product and we had to go back and attempt to take advantage of post-sale service. If you are concerned about your jewelry store standing behind their work, you really should go somewhere else. We went in to have a tension ring re-sized, which they claimed they could do. We paid over $1000 for the resizing, and within 3 months the stone JUST FELL OUT!! Luckily after an hour or so on our hands and knees we found the diamond. We took it back for them fix it, which they did, for another charge of several hundred dollars. Guess what, almost immediately the stone became loose again. I gave them one more chance and to their credit they did not charge for the 3rd try. But within weeks the stone actually FELL OUT again (see picture). I went back in again, frustrated as you can imagine but calm, and they said they would stand behind their work BUT their work WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE DIAMOND EVEN IF their work caused the stone to fall out and lost forever! What kind of comfort is that? Are they afraid of their own work product resulting in lost stones apparently? But I digress, Gem now claims that the ring style is the real issue, not their work! They say that tension settings are an inherently unreliable mount. Really? I don't think so because my wife had this same tension ring for over 10 years and experienced absolutely no problems at all. I kept telling them but to no avail, it's not their fault. In the end, I simple asked for my money back because they didn't do what we paid them to do! But, you guessed it, they would not accommodate at all, and had the audacity to tell me to go somewhere else and still kept my money So that is my recommendation to you, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! There are dozens of reputable jewelry dealers in the Dallas area that can sell a ring, but only the better establishments stand behind their work, and Gem is NOT one of those retailers.
