What an awesome experience!…read more I went to 3 other jewelry stores prior to finding Gillespie Fine Jewelers for my wedding set. I tried a small independently owned one that quoted me over twice as much. I tried a big box one that claimed the small one was wrong about what needed to be done to keep my wedding set in good shape and wanted to charge 4 times as much (not an exaggeration-I was floored). The third one I went to, told me that they couldn't quote me until their jeweler was back on Monday, but I could leave the rings with them and they'd call me-no thank you. THEN I found Gillespie Fine Jewelers and I knew this is where everyone I love needs to come. I met the owner Kim, and his calm familiar demeanor immediately set me at ease. He was honest and fair in quoting me for my set. He actually agreed with the diagnosis from the first store which made me feel he knew his stuff. He didn't tack on extra unnecessary prong repairs just to bump up the price. From our conversation, he told me he has been a bench jeweler since he was 25. Since he does his own work, he doesn't have to charge us extra to pay for the jeweler doing the work. He's not just an owner that doesn't touch the pieces, he does everything and is extremely skilled at his craft. His quotes are transparent and he explains why the cost is what he is charging. This was by far the best experience I've ever had at a jewelry store. I walked away finding a gentleman and a businessman I knew I TRUSTED. He did impeccable work on my set and he didn't break the bank in the process. I will be coming back! If you want an honest jeweler that knows his craft and is skilled enough to do the work on his own, come to Gillespie Fine Jewelers-he won't disappoint!

When my husband (then boyfriend) and I were discussing getting married, we looked at rings all over the place. Finally, we ventured over to Yater and Sons to check out their selection of jewelry based on a friend's recommendation. We were greeted by Mark Yater and he walked us through the entire process. I had an idea...honestly, I knew exactly what I wanted so we were able to look at other settings and create a completely custom ring. Mark wrote down all the details on a card for my boyfriend because we were not at the engagement stage just yet. Little did I know, it would be months and months and months later, but when he finally popped the question, he presented me with THE gorgeous ring. Later, for our wedding, they custom made me a band and this year for Christmas, my wonderful husband got me an additional band for the other side. Aren't I lucky?! We got his band there as well. Anyway, Yater prides itself on being a family run business. They have been in business for decades because of their friendliness, quality, craftsmanship, and reasonable (not inexpensive, but reasonable) prices. I would recommend to anyone interested in diamonds, wedding bands/rings, or any type of jewelry to head over to Yater and Sons. There you go...that is 400 folks.

The ring was beautiful, unfortunately the setting didn't even last 4 years before I had to ship it back and the setting needed to be totally replaced. I am carefully with my ring taking it off to do most things so it was a bit disappointing to need it replaced so soon. Kelly did place the ring in a new setting free of charge however the stone was set before I approved the new setting due to the jeweler going out on an extended vacation. Luckily I think the new setting is beautiful and I hoping this one will last longer than 4 years.
