I'll start by saying Gabe is one of the coolest people I've ever met and he is a true professional…read more I like that it has been a family owned company for nearly a century, and you get that feeling when you work with them. I took my wife's ring to get cleaned, and the best possible deal they have costs around $70 and it was worth every penny. The ring was a mirror image of when I picked it up for the first time - I was surprised that it could look so nice! In all, the customer service was unbeatable and the quality of the work was excellent. Don't be scared to let them handle your jewelry!

If I could give 0 stars I would! Gem was a referral from a family member and they were great…read moreduring the initial sales phase (the money taking phase). Ultimately though we DID NOT have the same experience that our family member did, I guess because we were unhappy with their work product and we had to go back and attempt to take advantage of post-sale service. If you are concerned about your jewelry store standing behind their work, you really should go somewhere else. We went in to have a tension ring re-sized, which they claimed they could do. We paid over $1000 for the resizing, and within 3 months the stone JUST FELL OUT!! Luckily after an hour or so on our hands and knees we found the diamond. We took it back for them fix it, which they did, for another charge of several hundred dollars. Guess what, almost immediately the stone became loose again. I gave them one more chance and to their credit they did not charge for the 3rd try. But within weeks the stone actually FELL OUT again (see picture). I went back in again, frustrated as you can imagine but calm, and they said they would stand behind their work BUT their work WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE DIAMOND EVEN IF their work caused the stone to fall out and lost forever! What kind of comfort is that? Are they afraid of their own work product resulting in lost stones apparently? But I digress, Gem now claims that the ring style is the real issue, not their work! They say that tension settings are an inherently unreliable mount. Really? I don't think so because my wife had this same tension ring for over 10 years and experienced absolutely no problems at all. I kept telling them but to no avail, it's not their fault. In the end, I simple asked for my money back because they didn't do what we paid them to do! But, you guessed it, they would not accommodate at all, and had the audacity to tell me to go somewhere else and still kept my money So that is my recommendation to you, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! There are dozens of reputable jewelry dealers in the Dallas area that can sell a ring, but only the better establishments stand behind their work, and Gem is NOT one of those retailers.

I have a thing for the vintage, especially the "classy" vintage, not the old worn out vintage…read more This store helps keep it classy! Located in the back of the Forestwood Antique Mall, this place has been making it happen there for over 20 years. Owners Eric and Cecile Wright know their stuff and carry some amazingly restored jewelry and watches. They also happen to be the largest retailer of vintage cuff links in Dallas. If you are into cuff links, you know vintage is always better than the new crap a lot of people are selling these days. They have a really cool shop and if vintage and antique jewelry are your thing, whether you are in want of something new, or in need of something repaired, you should check them out!

I brought multiple manual wind watches in for repair estimates. The watch repair technician looked…read moreat the first one, removed the back too quickly, and knocked off the minutes hand in the process (never acknowledging that and tried to hide it). When I realized that he put the watch in a jewelry bag to hide the fact that the hand had come off, I asked him to replace the back to at least protect the movement. He did, but he was unwilling to place the hand back on the watch. He also wound an antique watch that had a broken crystal (a no no because glass could be in the movement). A watch repair technician should be more careful than this one was. Their quote ($800 per watch with a 3-5 month wait) was uncompetitive. I have used them for repairs in the past, but won't be using them again.
