Really stressful and strange experience with this place recently. Took in a watch of my deceased Mother to gift to my daughter this Christmas. I was told I would get a call with the repair quote in a few days. When two weeks passed, I called and was told the watch was ready. And that it would be 200.00! I was shocked and said I had not received anything in the form of a voicemail about the status. The " manager " explained that he did call and that he would charge me 150.00 for my " misunderstanding " of the situation. I agreed to go by and retrieve it when I could. Upon further thought I decided to speak to the owner , Ron , who had been very helpful in the past. Everytime II called I was told he wasn't in. The manager would not tell me when he would be in. Later that day I got a call from " Ron " who was the manager pretending to be him . He laughed when I told him I knew it wasn't Ron He then offered for me to pick up the watch for "free" as it was Christmas ,,and told me it was repaired and running but he couldn't offer a warranty on it .I had a feeling that this manager was quite insane and definitely didn't want me to tell the real owner what I experienced so again I agreed to go pick it up. I sent my spouse in to retrieve it and he was given the watch. Its not running and this is the same day ! I believe the manager broke the watch deliberately and is definitely doing something to Watch Docs loyal customers. Beware of this place A complete waste of time . No pun intended.! This is my 3rd visit to Watch Doc (once at their Carrolton location, twice at the Dallas location). All 3 times I was lucky enough to come in during a lull and Ra (owner/manager) was able to take care of my watch battery replacement and band adjustment needs -- about 30 mins to replace 4 batteries and adjust 2 metal bands. The results are always consistent with time and dates set. Saturdays can get busy as it is a one man show, but if you time it right, you can get taken care of right away. Ra can come across as curmudgeonly (as some of the other reviews have pointed out), but to me that's okay as his main focus is to take care of your watch needs with an artisan touch, not to have a social gathering. In terms of price, I did check around and the pricing is competitive. I brought in various watches this time (Redline, Armani, Breitling), and battery replacement prices varied from $18 to $25. Over the last couple of years, I've brought in over 10 watches for battery replacement and each one is running perfectly. read more

Came in Saturday morning to have a battery replaced, I had attempted to replace on my own but quickly figured out it was a bit too complicated. I popped the old battery out and replaced the back of the watch. The guy in the shop was super unfriendly and rude. He told me I damaged the watch and that it would be $120 to fix. I was worried about being able to retrieve my watch during this time where everything is shut down, but they were more than accommodating and made an appointment to meet me. My antique watch looks brilliant, works well and the service didn't suffer AT ALL due to pandemic crisis. I cannot recommend this shop enough and hope they don't suffer from the shut down for lack of foot traffic. We need businesses that are this helpful and competent to stick around. read more

Went with 2 watches needing batteries. One was for my 80 yo mother in law. I asked how long it would take and they said 1 hour. This was at 4:30 pm on a Friday. Their hours are closing at 7. I said verbally out loud to them that my mother in law wants her watch back that day and that I would run errands in the area and return in an hour to pick them up. When I arrived at 5:30, the shop was dark and closed. No call to me stating an emergency happened or any attempt to let me know I would not be picking up the watches at the time they told me I could. I left them a phone message asking why they didn't notify me. No call back. When I did go to get them, I voiced all this to them only to receive a lame excuse of the "boss" probably closed up early (which bodes even more detrimental to their business, whilst passing the buck) and that they're "sorry". Then he charged me about $1.50 more for the batteries even after tax AND the price on the receipt reflects a whole different amount. I was not about to fight over $1.50 let alone bring up the discrepancy as their business acumen was shady as it was. Horrible experience. You've been warned. read more

My wife bought me a new smart watch for my birthday and I didn't know where to begin trying to figure out how to work it so I found Watch Doc and went there and Juan told me to leave it with him for about a week and he would figure it out and teach me all that I needed to know in order to get it working. They are rarely at the business. They don't answer the phone but the message on their answering machine states their hours of operation. I've driven to their location four times in the last two weeks during the stated hours and they've never been here. I bought the lifetime guarantee on watch replacement batteries but since they are never here it doesn't do any good. I'll never trust them with anything again. Terrible business people. read more

My stainless steel watch band was broken and I needed to have it repaired by some experts and I was so glad to come in today! I received fast and friendly service and waited while my watch was being repaired which took about 15 minutes. Although I had to drive 20 minutes to their Preston Rd. location, it was well worth it and I'm glad that I did. They did an excellent job for a reasonable price!!! My watch was in for repairs. It was supposed to take several days. I did not get it back for several weeks. Within 3 days it stopped running. I returned it and finally got it back after 11 weeks. When attempting to determine the status I could not get a return call and the store was often closed on the days that they were supposed to be open. I have now had it back for a week and it quit running again. Bottom line do not use this company. read more

They fixed my watch when even Bulova did not properly fix my watch! And, they were friendly about it. Kay Jewelers put a battery in the watch and it stopped working. Water was also seeping into my waterproof watch. Kay Jewelers owned up to the issue and shipped the watch to Bulova for repair but it did not come back working. I then took the watch to another local jeweler who replaced the gasket and temporarily got it working but it died again. Then I took it to a quick fix repair in Northpark Mall and the man was so rude I took the watch back. Then I took it to Watch Doc who said they would evaluate the watch and see if it's fixable, I left the watch, they fixed the watch, they watched it a few days to make sure it was working and walla, it's working and still working and they were nice about it. I will be getting my batteries there in the future so noone else can destroy my watch again. Thanks Watch Doc for fixing my Bulova! read more

I initially started with a few watches to have replaced and the first two came out "OK" (band broke on one a few days later as they use cheap replacement parts.) Upon dropping off 3 and picking up another three, I noticed they were not cleaned, had a few more nicks than when I dropped them off. Customer service was lacking as I questioned the quality of the work. The owner started a new higher and was laughing and joking of my concerns. Not saying they are a bad company yet I will never go there again. It's been probably a year since I attempted to get watches worked on here, and have no plans on returning. Make sure you get an price estimate for the work you want done. In my case I asked to price battery replacements in two watches and was quoted $25ish for one and $35ish for the other. These were basic Michael Kors watches, nothing high end or priceless. I highly recommend these guys. I have a watch from 1970s that was passed on to me from my late mother. It's a Seiko automatic watch that no seiko shop services in this area. My only option was to take it to NJ. I found these guys accidentally when changing batteries for my other watches. They've done a great job with my watch. Not only that, I came back 2 days later to have another one removed for a better fit, and he didn't charge me anything for it. This will be my go to from now on.
