I bought my fiance an Omega Seamaster for his birthday and needed help authenticating and polishing it. The Omega boutique in Northpark Mall suggested I come to Arman as he has been highly regarded and deals with watches quite a bit. So, based on this recommendation I brought my time piece to Arman. He was very pleasant and asked me to leave it for a few days so his watch guy can look over it.
A few days later, I received a call and I go to pick it up. His first comment is that there were deep gouges he couldn't polish out, but the watch was no-doubt authentic. I had a split second thought that I don't recall any deep gouges, but thought nothing of it and left. After inspecting it when I returned home, there was definitely a giant gouge on the backside of the case - HOLY CRAP. I've included pictures of before and after bringing it in to Arman.
I immediately called him back to give him feedback that his watch guy is terrible and that he scratched my case. Arman was apologetic, but could do nothing about it. He had already tried before I picked it up. I should've demanded a refund of the $50 I paid. I essentially paid for them to scratch the $2000 watch. I would NOT trust his watch guy with my timepieces again, and I certainly will not recommend Arman for watch-work. Sure, his jewelry pieces in the cases looked beautiful, but not for timepiece service.
I ended up bringing the damaged watch to Swiss Watch Repair off Alpha/Noel and the owner Joseph worked on it immediately. After re-authenticating it, he polished out the scratch... and the kicker? He said Arman's watch guy did not have an Omega tool to open the back of the watch, that's the only way it could've gotten scratched. He showed me the authentic tool with prongs, and he was right. It's a fixed head with the Omega spacing and unless you're blind, there's no way to scratch the case. Joseph also commented the gasket and case back were not even closed securely, meaning the watch was not waterproof by any means- a complete lack of attention to detail on Arman's watch guy.
The last complaint I had was my watch wasn't even set to the correct time/date. I figure the least Arman could do is set the time for me. Even Kay Jewelers at the mall set the time on my own watch when I had them replace a battery.
Again, please don't take your timepieces here for service. Sure, he's probably great at battery removal (per most of these Yelp reviews), but I just wouldn't risk it. read more
