For months, ants were everywhere in our house, no matter how clean we made it or how many times the company stopped by to have us put gels and baits all over the inside of the house. Within about 30 minutes he had located and treated all the colonies in our yard (we have a very large hillside yard). He didn't step foot in the house, and he said we would be ant free within 5 days. Best pricing, compared to other quotes I got on the phone, and a truly experienced technician, Rene, located the entry points and went above and beyond to show me footage of the area, completely seal everything off, sanitized the area, repaired an additional window in the garage, not part of the area being worked on, and blocked off any other entry point rats would have to get back in. He has assured me he will keep coming back to check traps until there are no more rats to be found, without charging an additional fee, which was not the case with the other companies. We've been having a moderate (but infuriating) ant problem for the last two summers and I finally gave up on home remedies and called Prolific Pest Control. Nicholas came out the morning after I called and was very sympathetic to our issues and thoroughly explained exactly what he would be doing. Jesse just came out and acted like on drugs. Quoted extra than was told but agreed and wanted to confirm all openings would be closed. No problem paying small extra as communication from office said all repairs included and this strange very anxious guy said only two repairs and we had six. He then said had to make a call and took off. Came back few minutes later cos forgot ladder in the house. He was acting so weird. Never had a service person just take off. Called office and was told they made a mistake and would cost even more which would of been fine but this guy can't communicate. I have had a rare rodent in my walls and called a prolific to come and exterminate and seal entry. They were timely, cost-effective, efficient, clean and, most of all, professional! Their follow-up service is tremendous and their technicians are friendly and focused on their job. We had used Prolific for years to come spray the house yearly & then once for spiders as well. The last time they came the technician was startled by my super elderly dog in our back yard. For the record, our dog literally passed away two weeks after this "incident" so you know, she was super old and not vicious in any ways shape or form (even when she was a puppy, she was literally a trained emotional therapy dog). Anyhow, he tripped over his own hose or something, pitched a fit and left. They never called me back to reschedule & when I followed up they said they were unable to come back to my property ever because they lacked authorization! It was obvious that the young man who came to my house was looking for an excuse to not do his job that day. We were actually calm & cool with him leaving (even though it was a gross overreaction in every way), I just wanted to reschedule after waiting for almost a month for an appt anyway. Short version: Chickens draw rats. Jesse gets rid of rats. We never had vermin of any kind in 18 years until our neighbors got chickens; there's almost no way to raise chickens without attracting rats, having to do with food spillage. Fortunately all but one of the rats were outside, and even more fortunately, we found Jesse (via a friend who used him on her own house.) He got rid of them. Jesse is knowledgable, rigorously thorough and conscientious. He thoroughly sealed up every possible entrance in our house with wire and foam (vermin can enter through a hole the size of a quarter); went in the (unbelievably hot) attic three times over the course of a month to make sure they were gone; gave us a variety of options for continuing service and is just a smart, nice guy. These people were prompt, throrough, and meticulous in eradicating the recent invasion of our Pasadena home by rats. They got rid of the rats already inside the house (even those rats who apparently had advanced training in rat trap evasion), cleaned up the left over mess, sanitized the attic, and plugged up all the points of possible entry. I was referred to Prolific by an old roommate who recommended them highly. I was really surprised to find I had rodent / rats as I had paid Dewey pest control a number of years ago to rat proof my house. I called Prolific and they came out to do a through inspection and found several entry points into my crawl space underneath my house. Nicholas and Rene were completely professional and did a through job. They not only fixed the screens but made it look nice by sealing and painting the newly replaced screens.
