I was very happy with my friend's referral UNTIL the technician said it was going to cost me $400-$500 for the first visit. I told him that I was quoted $225 on the phone. If I was told $400-$500, I would have chosen the bigger firms - Terminix or Orkin. Typical bait and switch sales tactic used here. I have been using Armed Exterminators since we bought this home in may. Recently we noticed some rat activity in the attack and called them. They responded immediately. This company used to be awesome. Cliff would come by, look at your yard to see where the ants are and concentrate spraying there with a smaller tank. Unfortunately I don't think he's with the company anymore. They sent out some old guy who never inspected the property. He just got the hose attached to the back of the truck and started hosing down my yard. For some reason he felt it necessary to spend a lot of time behind my garage, in my tomato patch more than 100' from my house. He didn't even spray on one side. This of course didn't work and my house was still full of ants. I called and had them come back since I was still within the 1 month guarantee. I asked for Cliff but the old guy came back with some other guy. I again no looking around the yard and he also thought my tomatoes were dangerous. In under 10 minutes they left and my ants were still there for the rest of the summer. If you can get Cliff use Armed Exterminators otherwise avoid them like the plague read more

Called last week to have my house treated because all the hot weather was bringing in ants. I was thrilled when they said they could send someone over within an hour. Cliff arrived promptly and gave me a quote. I couldn't have him spray right then (had to take dog somewhere, etc) and he said to just give him a call in a couple of hours when I was ready to have him treat the house. Later that day, I called and he arrived within an hour. As if that wasn't extremely efficient and prompt, I received a call from the company a week later checking up on my prior phone call. I have worked with about five pest control, rodent exterminators in the area and they are the best of all. John Dolan was helpful and compassionate listening to the rodent route and activities. Unlike others, he didn't jump to conclusion nor just made up some quick guess or solution to catch a few rats. He was aware it was a structural problem and issues won't be fixed unless opening in walls could be sealed. He gave me a quote for trapping rats but identify the issue. Their business is honest, heart-based, with integrity and the price was reasonable while the inspection was free (not sure if it is always the case or the type of inspection I needed). I highly recommend anyone who needs a exterminator to get a quote from them and grant them businesses. I will surely call them up next time when it is something they can do. I contacted Armed Exterminators due a stubborn rodent problem. I had been laying out traps for several weeks with no success and finally decided to call a pro. Raul came the next morning. He was super friendly and concluded that the rodents were coming from the outside. He did an inspection of the house and pointed out several gaps where the rodents could have made entry. Raul told me that his company did not do home repairs and recommended a sister company. I offered to pay him for his time but he declined. Very impressed with their technicians. They came to our house because we thought we had rats in the attic and we've seen droppings in the garage. Two technicians came on time and even called me about 15mins before arrival. They checked my attic and said that they didn't see signs of rats and that what we heard on our roof was probably raccoons or squirrels. They checked our garage and they saw rat droppings but they suggested that we re-use our box and all we needed was to put more traps and poison. They didn't charge us at all for their recommendations. They even went to our backyard to check on huge holes we were getting and told us that we had earth squirrels making those huge underground holes. They told us how to take care of that too! I called and spoke to a very nice lady who was quite prompt in her scheduling for our ant problem. An exterminator named John Dolan came out to spray. He was THE BEST. Personable and articulate, he explained all our options in a realistic way. I didn't feel like I was getting a hard sell or even a sales consultation, but rather, just someone who was there to HELP US FIX THE PROBLEM! What a great guy. He found the ant nest and sprayed the heck out of it. He was like Robert Downey Jr. in Ironman, sending the bad guys scurrying for their lives. Seriously, application of pesticide in our home is something we take very seriously and I felt he displayed obvious competence and professionalism in taking on that job. Call these guys. To say I'm impressed with this outfit is an understatement. We were having some kind of rodent problem under the house, but didn't know what was going on because we're new to home ownership and have no idea what we're doing. We called AE because it looked like they specialized in relocating animals whenever they can, and while we don't want rodents in our house, we also don't want anything to suffer needlessly in those terrible glue traps some places use. John Dolan came out the same day and made a diagnosis and treatment recommendation, and explained all of the evidence for the diagnosis. He showed us where the rats had chewed through the HVAC lineset pipe insulation to get under the house, and pointed out which holes in the foundation vents they were most likely using based on signs of scuffing/hair or lack thereof. He gave us a quote for treatment, but in the same breath also recommended that we take care of it ourselves to save on cost. He explained how to repair the holes, which traps to get, where to place them, how to bait them, and what sort of bait to apply to them. One week on, the rodent problem appears to be taken care of, and all it cost was a $25 inspection fee. I also asked him about a seasonal bird problem in the roof, and he recommended a different company to assess that. He's *extremely* polite and professional, obviously knows what he's doing, and will make a treatment recommendation motivated by what's best for the homeowner, not necessarily what will make the company the most money on that visit. Other local businesses take note: this is how you attract and retain repeat customers. Armed Exterminators will be our first call if we have this sort of problem again. read more

Our property, at the end of a cul-de-sac, seems to be the throughway for many wild animals. We regularly see coyotes, raccoons, skunks, etc. As a result, we've experienced really bad flea problems. So pleased with our service by Armed Exterminators! We keep our lawn pretty long and have two large dogs that defile the lawn daily so we deal with lots of gnats, flies and mosquitoes. This is an example of professionals who deliver great customer service. I had a skunk who had taken up residence under our home. It had come through an access door that was left open by a worker. The house was smelling pretty bad. I called Armed Exterminators to come and remove the stinky skunk. Dale, the owner, came on the phone. He told me he could come down and charge me for the removal, but first advised me to follow certain steps to try and coax the critter out myself. According to him, it worked 90% of the time. He said if it didn't work, then he'll send someone out. I followed the steps and it worked! And, I didn't end up being charged. Worth every penny if you are having trouble with rodents. Roof rats run rampant in Pasadena, especially if you have fruit trees like we do. We had some get into our attic and basement, and John and Cliff came out every week for several weeks to check and set traps.
