Place is rather huge, tons of seating and large flat screens everywhere. The bar is lengthy with stools to sit. Service is always quick and attentive. Like this brewery because they serve margaritas, not many breweries do. Only bummer is the three times I've been there's no food trucks but they do allow you to bring food inside. They killed it. Honestly! Their first location had great vibes, and many ups and downs to their business. With this location they took all the flaws and killed it. Everything they were missing at the other location they nailed it on this one. Location: amazing, space: they doubled it, drink options they expanded it, servers they also expanded it. I cannot begin to explain, the other location I tried a few of their beers which were ok. I tried three in this location , and it tasted so delicious! I think they were called golden state mighty dry and stone day fall Belgian white. What a bright spot to catch the games and enjoy some wonderful beers and drinks. Always a great selection of house beers and local craft brews from other breweries. They have always served delicious beers and added great wines and mixed drinks to their Arsenal at Progress on Main. The sausage sandwich was delicious and Collaborations with local food vendors are great. Check it out on Thursday when there is a El Monte farmers market right outside their doors. Congrats to Progress for making it through the pandemic. I've been a fan of Diego and Kevin's beer brewing since the Federal days. So happy for their success and for the way they have kept their employees on payroll. Everyone is genuine, authentic, and knowledgeable about beer and keep me coming back for more. This place is cute inside and has a nice bar but unfortunately that is it. I wish I could say the cocktails were good but they were so disappointing and overpriced for the quality. (Ps. They got rid of the amazing bogo deal so now it's a sad happy hour menu but it's a great deal for beer drinkers still) There was a lead that was not friendly and made no effort to check on us and that left a bad taste in my mouth on top of the bad drinks. This was my first time at Progress on Main. It definitely did not disappoint. I went with a group of friends to watch the Dodger game two days ago. I had the hibiscus drink and a couple of IPA beers. I forgot the name of the beer, but the waitress mentioned that it's similar to an 805. I also had their turkey sandwich with chicharrones, the sandwich was delicious. Our party arrived around 1pm and we left at closing time. The patio was empty when we arrived but by 5pm, most of the tables were taken. The waitresses/security were friendly and very helpful. Overall, it's a chill hang out spot with good customer service. I'd definitely come back again. read more

I was discriminated against here. There is unfortunately misinformation about service dogs at this place. Upon entering, the security guard asked if my dog was a service animal which my dog is so I responded affirmatively. I showed the security guard the card that I always carry even though there is no need for that. He sees it and it reads psychiatric service dog. Because it says "psychiatric" he proceeds to tell me that it is not a service dog, it is an emotional support animal. When I tell him that he is incorrect and the dog is indeed a service dog, he argues that she's not and she's not allowed in. I took the time to try to educate him even though that is not my job, but he was not convinced. I don't think this guy is bad and I'm not trying to out him as such he is just uneducated in service dogs, and I wouldn't want someone else to have to deal with that so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager is not there so they point me towards Diana. I am distressed at this point but I ask to speak to her in private. The security guard takes the opportunity to cut us off and speak to her first in private. So after she's done talking to him, I am talking to a Diana who probably thinks I'm trouble. She sits me in the patio where the music is loud. I start trying to tell her that I think her security guard through probably no fault of his own is not aware of what a service dog is and she tells me that she has a service dog (which is not with her) and that she knows all about them. This is the part where she starts blaming me instead of hearing me out and then maybe making a decision. She interrupts me and doesn't let me finish a single sentence. Since my dog is not wearing a vest with service dog patches and she is wearing a casual harness, she says that I am not following California law, and even though I know she does NOT NEED to be wearing the service dog patch I don't argue with her. Since the music is loud I do speak louder than my usual normal voice but I am not trying to scream and she repeatedly asks me to not yell at her. I tell her that I will go get my dog's service dog vest if that makes her feel more comfortable but I try to return the conversation to the original issue which is that her security guard does not understand that a psychiatric service dog is still a service dog. She doesn't want to hear it, she continues to just try and find imaginary faults in me and blame me while saying her security guard is correct. I am trying to write what happened instead of how I felt because I didn't want to write a bad review here. I love Progress Brewery and I wanted to love Progress on Main but I feel discriminated against and honestly shook. I just wanted to help educate people about service dogs. Someone please teach the security guard here about psychiatric service dogs. read more

I was misled into buying a reserve table for " Halloween party " paid $50 . party was supposed to start at 4pm till 2 AM. I showed up at 7pm , 2 couples were the only ones wearing costumes. Address someone at the bar trying to get a resolution to give me an explanation as to what was going on. Then asked to speak to the manager, spoke to Chanel. Only negative thing I can say is they need to staff better especially for the 49er games. It gets a big crowd for the games so at times it takes a while to order a drink. They need more bartenders. I've been to Progress on Main a few times for cocktails to-go and for patio seating to a catch a lakers and dodgers game. First impression: this space is beautiful and when all of this madness is over, I can't wait to have a drink inside the bar. There are plenty of TVs and pinball/arcade games to satisfy the casual drinker. We sat on the patio in the back and you could tell that they were cautious about the distance of all of their patrons. The drinks: the drinks here are spectacular! I've had/ tasted all of their cocktails available and you can tell that their drinks are high quality. There are boozy drinks like the 'Old Montero' which make your stomach warm after one sip and fruity drinks like the wide variety of margaritas that satisfy any taste palette. Progress on Main and Progress Brewing is trying to revitalize the city of South El Monte and El Monte and so please support them whenever you can. Progress on Main is a fun bar located on a main street in El Monte. I was able to easily find parking in a back lot right off the main street, and I was pleasantly surprised by how large Progress on Main is. The happy hour is great; I enjoyed a 2 for 1 beer option and found the bartenders to be attentive and helpful. They have a pretty big beer selection and I enjoyed the IPA I got (the exact name of which I forget). If you are looking for a chill place to grab a drink, either on a date or with a group of friends, this is a spot worth checking out. I recently moved to South El Monte and finally decided to go out, so we Yelped nearby bars. Progress popped up and we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised! If I could give them 4 1/2 stars, that's what Progress would actually get. We went around 9pm and it was somewhat busy. It's definitely spacious, it has plenty of seating, has numerous smaller TVs so that you can watch from any part of the establishment. The drinks were not bad. They had a decent variety of cocktails and beers. The bonus was a pretty tasty chamoy-like rim. We ordered some wings which were pretty good. They came with fries in the bottom which was nice since they were spicy but they were good spicy. The service was average, the staff was friendly enough but we did see two guys get kicked out who were sitting down and we weren't sure why they were just asked to leave but they left. They had two security guards at the front checking IDs and keeping an eye out. We would definitely come back but based on the vibe we got maybe just for games and fights and then we are out. I went in yesterday with a group of friends to watch the game, It was packed! The food and drinks were good we ordered at the bar with a very friendly female bartender who gave us great recommendations! We then sat at a table near the bar and enjoyed the game. The same bartender who first helped us was also helping with food orders, being a restaurant owner myself I have to say I was very impressed. But what stood out the most was how rude a lot of customers were to the staff. They were 49er fans like myself. the table next to us had an issue, it was a couple and the wife was plain horrible to our bartender, another female full of tattoos approached the table and from what I was able to hear, she basically added gas to the flame. The bartender was very calm despite the woman being very disrespectful,I felt bad for her. During these times, I'm more particular about my visits and my reviews, but this place was worth it. Great cocktails and great environment. There is outdoor seating. During these times I'm also pretty cautious of the people around me and how management handles things. I felt very safe here. They have to-go options (beer and cocktails) and good pick up protocol, with an easy window set up right at the front. Their patio option was comfortable too, with groups separated and servers considerate and careful. There was a taco man and that was very good too. I had 3 cocktails this afternoon... a nice spicy gingery gimlet, a sweet and smokey mango mezcal, and a punchy hibiscus tequila cocktail. All were well balanced in flavor and kick, fresh, and not overly sweet (which i can be particular about when it comes to cocktails...to note, they use fresh fruit/juices so def not syrupy). My fav was the Santa Fe gimlet bc I love ginger. Side note... they have cute to-go cocktails bottle!
