This bar in downtown El Monte. The space itself is really nice. They have a great patio that you can host parties at, which they allowed us to do without a fee, but unfortunately it rained so we took it indoor. Food is catered from outside vendor. They are great. One of my friends helped set up this event. The people themselves the bartender the waitress are very nice. We tipped them well during the event. The disappointing part is the management. We initially were told the drinks were seven dollars and then there was no fee, but somehow things are trying to get added onto our final bill and I had to argue a little bit. Unreasonable and absolutely unprofessional and for that reason, I probably will never book another event here again. It's unfortunate that their communication sucks.

What's up: Here to celebrate a coworker. I've been here once before but didn't get to explore since it was busy. This time around, we got to experience more things. Parking: Parking is available up front as well as in the rear parking lot. It's shared with the nearby businesses but we didn't have any issues finding parking. Environment: The place was busy when we arrived. The bar/order counter is located to the right of the entrance. There are plenty of high tables spread throughout the place. To the back, they have the restrooms on the right and to the left, there's the entrance to the rear patio area. They have several entertainment choices that include pool table, virtual golf, and roller ball (which is like mini bowling). You can also change up the music with the jukebox. What was ordered: - Old Fashioned Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Overall, this was a pretty fun place to hang out and grab a drink. It's spacious and has a comfortable vibe. Plus, parking is easy. Credit cards are accepted.

Came for a celebration on a Friday night. I ordered a Mother Earth Pilsner and they didn't have it. Ordered the beachwood hef and the don't have it, then ordered the Oktoberfest....they also didn't have it. Ended up ordering the Kolsch and the blood orange... why have digital menu displays and not update them ... The bartenders told me to check the taps to see what beers they actually have.

Came in Sunday before President's Day. Website says they close at 10pm. Got there around 730ish. Place was decently filled for a holiday weekend. Music was a vibe. We put in an order for drinks & food right away. Got a spicy ranch water and coronaita; both were well made and refreshing. Also ordered the asada fries and al pastor taco grandes. Fries were decent - crispy and a solid amount of asada, enough for about 3 people. The real star was the al pastor tacos. They were drool worthy. I would go back just for these. Around 8pm one of the waiters came around for final call for food & drinks. We were surprised since it says they were opened until 10. He kinda mumbled something about maybe it's just final call for food and that he'd double check, but that they were definitely closing early. We noticing they close the main door around that time too. A couple of girls walk up and the staff begrudgingly unlocked the door and let them in. Then they start turning off the tv screens. All fine actions if it was actually their closing time. Anyways around 8:30pm the waiter comes by again and confirms they are closing at 9 and if we'd like another around. We order the same drinks to make it easy. Big mistake unfortunately. Second round was bad, felt like they were rushed out. I didn't even finish half of mine by the time we left. I asked for the check and during that interaction the bartender asked about our drinks. I was honest and felt horrible when it turned out that he was the one that made them. Whoops. He was sweet, explained it got busy and ended up comping the second batch. He offered to remake them but we declined as they were closing early. It would have been a good visit if it hadn't felt like we were being rushed out before we were actually were supposed to. But I get it, when you want to go home you wanna go home. Unfortunately for us though, cause we would have definitely picked another spot in that case. Might go back to give it one more chance.

I left this place with mixed feelings. Went in to try it out on Sunday night, Yelp hours showed they closed at 10pm. We sat down around 7:30pm and ordered two drinks and two appetizers, were shortly after informed that it was last call. We couldn't get a solid answer from the person serving us as to what time they were closing. There were about 20 other people inside. So we ordered another round quickly, but were extremely disappointed in the quality of the drinks. Same drinks as first round, completely different taste. The bartender tasted it and said it tasted fine to him, but was kind and offered to make us another round. We declined so the staff could go home. The inside is huge, lots of seating available, open air windows and multiple rooms branching off from the main room. A long bar with seating is available. Pool tables. Clean restrooms. I would like to say the place is cool and maybe it was just a one off, odd night. The food was good and everyone was friendly.

I've been to Progress Brewing multiple times but have never been here. The area is spacious with a decent amount of parking on the street. They sell food, beer and mixed drinks. They have tons of TVs so you can definitely have a good time here catching sports.

Empty drink glasses and had to flag a bartender.

I'm only giving it a 2 for the food and atmosphere, otherwise it would be zero. This place has SO much potential, large industrial size space with golf simulator, bowling and pool tables. Plenty of seating! The staff.... There was a security guard sitting at the bar then going back behind the bar to help himself to beer and soda. Bartenders are too busy playing games on their phones with other guests or talking on their phones to provide service. When we were leaving there was someone passed out in their car right outside the front door, another of them going in and out to the bar from that car. Poor management is going to kill this place and it could be a solid 5!

Ogopogo Brewing is doing great things in San Gabriel!…read more It was over 100 degrees out so I pivoted from usual dark brews and went with a whole lot of summery feels IPAs. I tried~ *6.9% Sharlie, a hazy IPA. *8.5% Mothman, a DDH hazy IIPA. *10.5% Yacumama, a hazy IIPA with pineapple & coconut notes. ~I liked them all! They were all nice and refreshing on a scorching day. I brought my laptop to do a little work while I sipped and the staff was really nice about directing me to outlets. I actually had my first drink on their patio outside but it got soooo~ hot so I was thankful for all the indoor seating. Clean bathrooms, beers can be bought in cans for purchase and I saw some people just dipping in to grab & go. They had a couple of dedicated spots which filled quickly and then I reckon other parking may be a bit harder to find. Prices are good, staff is great and most importantly beer is cool & inventive. The pandan IPA was tapped out when I came in but I will surely be in again to try more.

Located in the industrial area of San Gabriel, Ogopogo highlights their ube beer and food. Sad to say, they do not make a pandan hazy IPA anymore, which was my main reason for coming. I had no idea! We parked in the faded parking lot in the front of the brewery. The parking is unclear as for the opposite side says no parking. We walked in, and felt very cold, since it was a rainy/cloudy day. They had their doors open that led towards he outside seating and the front entrance, so a breeze was going through. On a Sunday afternoon, it was not busy at all. We took a small look around the brewery and didn't see anyone. The beertender was actually hidden towards the left and wasn't near the register. She didn't say anything nor greet us. In fact, I don't know if she said anything at all. We ordered out two beers and went to sit down. I found out that she was counting her minutes to leave and another beertender took her spot. We sat in the back where the music wasn't as loud so we can do some work. I ended up going back up to order their hot dog happy hour: a Boeman and a hot dog for $10. I then ordered myself a hot dog for $5 in addition to a Hazy IPA. the second beertender was a tad nicer than the first. She explained to me the discontinued beer, which I didn't know about. The hot dog was pretty good for the cost. It's bigger than a hot dog you'd get at a stadium and it was definitely half the price. They had ketchup packets and offered onions as a topping. As for their beers, it was decently priced with the haze I was expecting. They had a bigger crowd of people starting at 6 when we left. The parking lot was filled on both sides and people created their own lot with their cars. It's just odd how no one really comes throughout the day on a Sunday. They could offer more foods, snacks, or incentives to get people coming, but I didn't see any of that. The workers seemed not to care too much either, so that's a bummer. Again, lots of potential, but the care needs to be put in. I probably won't be back.

Don't know if the music changes often but it was somewhat metal that was going on when we walked in. Crowd was great as they were all there for the same reason. Drinks and pool. Overall, it was a cool place for a pint and pool. Somewhere people meet up for drinks.
