    Met the truck team today!!
    Rose M.

Discovered this food truck parked behind the Avmed building on Riverplace Blvd on Wednesdays purely by accident. The crew inside this tiny food truck were fun and in a great mood for being out in the cold with no customers. I don't think many people know they are there every wednesday as the crew told me while they started me on a punch card for return visits. All in, it took about 5 minutes to get my order after I had made my decision with numerous recommendations from the crew. I ordered the Brilliant Buffalo Chicken Panini (Chicken breast chunks with peppers, Franks hot sauce and ranch dressing with a slice of american cheese). They gave me fair warning that it was messy and included extra napkins so I wouldn't ruin my desk with my eating. The panini was made with half of a deep pita that had been sliced, filled with ingredients, then grilled to crispy soft goodness. They set it on a bed of lettuce leaf and added a touch of parmesan cheese on top. My only complaint is that I could have used a little less ranch and a little bit more hot sauce - possibly they should offer it on the side. The taste though was heaven! I debated between the mac&cheese, the broccoli & cheese soup or the asparagus and finally settled on the asparagus after viewing the pictures on yelp. The asparagus themselves though were the right call as they were perfectly grilled with a touch of seasoning and served with more of the parmesan cheese sprinkled liberally on top. You can tell that the chef loves asparagus as much as I do as they were just right with none of the horrible white ends full of too much fiber and also not overcooked to limp noodle status. Final verdict? The frequent buyer card has earned a spot on my desk so I can be back every Wednesday - I think I will try the silicon valley panini next!

I stumbled on Professor Panini downtown and decided to try it. I had the Chicken Parm Panini - it was absolutely incredible!!!

So, full disclosure, I'm a sucker for sandwiches. I stumbled on Professor Panini downtown at Riverplace Tower and decided to try it. I had the Chicken Parm Panini - it was absolutely incredible!!! The chicken is hand breaded and fried right in front of you, the provolone cheese was melted and the marinara tasted homemade. It I wasn't holding it like a sandwich, I would've thought i was at a nice Italian restaurant. I would highly recommend Professor Panini to anyone who loves a great sandwich!

The best panini I've had yet!

The best panini I've had yet, It included avocado, chicken, two different cheeses, and pesto! And the asparagus was cooked to perfection. I wouldn't mind going to the truck for the asparagus alone. It's amazing. The service was fast and the owner is so friendly! I definitely plan on going back again.

It had a nice kick so I was sold. I watched him make the hot sauce when I arrived to place my order. So you know everything is fresh! I ordered 6 bone-in wings. The wings were cooked perfectly, crispy outside and juicy inside. And I really loved his spicy hot sauce used to toss the wings. But if you don't like heat don't order the hot wings. I suggest ordering a different wing flavor. I only ordered the hot wings as there were no healthy side options. And if you are in a hurry don't order here as it will take a hot minute. But you know the old saying, good things come to those who wait;)

Catch them when the truck is slow and you'll never meet a nicer host. If the line is long, know they'll get your food done right and not do any half measures. Sit back and enjoy your beverage as they work their magic. Their wing sauces rival the most flavorful varieties in the industry. Their loaded fries are a thing of beauty. Don't miss them if they bring the food close to you!

They came to our neighborhood but weren't on the normal schedule (I noticed 2 trucks didn't show up). I ordered the whiting fish sandwich combo without tarter sauce. I got the combo with sauce. Hubby ordered the catfish sandwich, daughter ordered the hamburger and son got the hot dog combo. We all agreed that it was just ok. The breading on the sandwiches was just okay but mostly bland. The breading tasted store bought but bland. The fries were good and seasoned well. I don't eat bread but ordered the sandwich as that was my only option for whiting fish (also breaded). But after receiving the sandwich with tarter I was only able to eat the ends of the fish. I miss my old soul food truck from TN so I was willing to change up my eating to enjoy a great fish dish...I was disappointed.

Fairly new to our city's expanding food truck scene, Southern Twang doesn't seem to know exactly what it is. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be traditional Southern cuisine or some type of "fusion", but the food was tasty and that's always a good start. I had the Farm Burger, and it was extremely flavorful. Well seasoned patty, with bacon, pickled onion, goat cheese, and a sweet/spicy pepper jam. The fries were also surprisingly good. I've come to accept that most places just treat fries as an afterthought, but Southern Twang did 'em the right way: hot, crispy and well seasoned without being too salty. Despite the righteous burger/fries they offered up, there is room for improvement. The menu is pretty confusing and seems like it could be condensed or cleaned up somehow (3 pages stapled together). I actually went there to get the beef bowl (which I assume is Asian-inspired) that I saw a pic of on their FB page only to find out that it is a breakfast dish. I'll chalk these missteps up to them just getting starting, and hope that next I visit thay the menu is a bit more cohesive.

I tried a shrimp and veggie taco with sweet plantains. OMG the guava sauce and the sweet plantains were so perfect. This truck serves Puerto Rican food with Southern influences. The service was friendly from the woman working the cash register to the young man serving the tacos out of the truck. They had a variety of sandwiches, tacos, sides, and even a chicken tender basket that my friend enjoyed. Her fries were seasoned really well too. 5 stars. The canoa with triple meat is the way to go for sure if you eat meat. The vegan canoa was great with jackfruit. For my taste I don't think it needs extra sweetness from the sauces since it is on a sweet plantain already. I would adjust the sweetness of the sauces for the vegan option. The yucca fries are the same as you get in the area. Frozen and about 6 for $4. I would like to see a signature sauce for o go with them since everyone in St A does a coconut sauce which is too sweet. I think a mayo-ketchup would be perfect.
