This place should have way more reviews than it actually has. It could be because the name on the actual restaurant is different than what it is on yelp, but nonetheless, this place has quality in every bite. The inside is cute nicely decorated. I recently sat outside on the patio with my friends and it's usually the same few people that work the restaurant and they are always so nice. I wish I knew better Arabic so that I could actually feel at home. My friends and I ordered a mixed grill family size. Altogether it came out to $174 and when I tell you, it was enough food for a battalion. We all 38 till we rolled around and still had two carry out boxes each for lunch the next day. Ordered the mix grills. They ran out of (beef) meat tikka skewer, so it came with double portion of (beef) kebab skewer and one (chicken) shish tawook skewer. TBH the chicken was better of the two (had a wonderful grilled aroma). Was able to swap out the salad for the koobeh (ground meat in a fried bulgar wheat), which was pretty tasty. I ran into this place just because I was driving around that plaza. It looked cool so I decided to give it a try. OMG I am so happy I did. Everything was absolutely amazing. My husband and I ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate and the Beef Shawarma wrap. First of all, they are huge! The Shawarma was perfection. Crispy on the outside and warm, juicy and filled with flavor. The Chicken platter was super flavorful and has great sides too. I am so glad we found our new go-to spot for this cuisine. Stopped here at 9pm on a Tuesday night because the hubs said he heard this place was good. I arrived to find 6 other people waiting under the covered space with heaters going and tables to sit. Nice! He decided to go with a falafel sandwich with hummus inside, extra tomato and turnips. Oh, and a yogurt drink that was down in a drink basin with cans of Pepsi as well. The man handed us a small plate with Chicken Shawarma, garlic sauce and two falafel to try out while we waited. Also, nice! We were pretty full ourselves but we tried it anyways. I have to say, I liked the sauce he added over the Shawarma when you get a bit of the garlic sauce mixed it. The sauce is a bit tangy and the garlic seems to mellow it out. Falafel is always good when it's warm and crispy. In no time, my sandwich was wrapped and ready to go. The sandwich and drink together were just $8. I toted them back to my husband who barely let me snap a pic before the sandwich disappeared and the yogurt drink was empty. So I am gonna say it was a good because that was the verdict after he was finished. However, I did notice the yogurt drink was out of date. My husband said it tasted fine and didn't seem to be bothered by it at all. I will be sure to make a point of checking it next time because dairy and I aren't super buddies, but we aren't enemies either. Next time, I will partake in some food because my cousin says she has also heard that this place is pretty legit. I cannot stop thinking about this place ever since I first tried them a few weeks ago. Here I am, 6 something in the morning, thinking about it again (no I'm not pregnant). Damascus Kitchen is so freaking good and everyone should go. It is a food truck on Beach blvd by Grove Park. They serve the best damn shawarma I have ever had. I always get the falafel wrap and the husband always gets the chicken shawarma. Both are INSANELY GOOD! Last time we were there they told us we had to get the beef, that it was their favorite and gave us a free sample (pictured). It was also really good but still prefer the chicken. Prices are great, 5.99 for a lot of food. We normally go late at night (open until 1AM) so haven't had to wait for long but have been told be prepared to wait, still totally worth it. Wish I would have gotten more pictures but I am always so excited when I get my food that it disappears quickly. I go here after the gym at least once a week and it is some of the tastiest beef and chicken shawarma I have ever had. Every order comes with a side of veggies to dip in garlic yogurt sauce which is fresh and delicious and every now and then they will throw in a few pieces of falafel.
