I forced my daughter to pop into Avenues this afternoon so I could use the restroom. Afterwards, my daughter begged me to buy her chick-fil-a. I wasn't having it myself but was tempted to try the chicken and lamb samples at Baba's. Holy smokes this place slaps. I got half chicken, half lamb platter over rice with salad. They covered it in both white and red sauce and my lord it was perfect. I do not review mall food typically but if you are at the Avenues do yourself a favor and stop at Baba's! read more

Fantastic food at a fair price! I love middle eastern food and baba's makes it easy and accessible. It is incredibly convenient in the food court at the Avenues mall. I most recently went with my mom. She was craving a gyro and I love really anything middle eastern style. I settled on the rice with lamb and beef with sauces galore! My mom ordered the gyro and fries. I loved my food. The meat with super moist and flavorful and the sauces added such a great amount of additional flavor that complimented the meat and rice. My mom really enjoyed her gyro and fries. The service was great, the food was wonderful and the price fair. I would easily return! read more

We hadn't been to the food court at the Avenues in quite awhile but Vanessa told us about this Middle Eastern restaurant and we wanted gyros! I got the salad with chicken and lamb meat; it was huge and great! Lots of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, carrots, cucumbers, feta cheese and the chicken meat chunks (it's red so don't be surprised; it's just seasoned that way-not spicy) and lamb chunks. The sauce is drizzled across the top...it was huge with enough for left overs tomorrow! Hubby got a lamb gyro and he said was the best he had in quite a while! The crew was friendly and eager to serve us, wanted me about the hot sauce (which was amazing), and cared deeply about getting our order perfect. I'm currently watching my figure and needed something that was hearty but healthy - Baba's really hit the spot. I'm a first-timer but the staff was patient and gave recommendations for vegetarian options. The falafel was seasoned amazingly and made to order. They had a rice option which looked tempting but I did good and put everything over a fresh salad. Many people were in the line waiting to order and the staff did well accommodating and eagerly giving out samples. It's located in the food court but the food still tastes like it's made with care. The mall was extremely busy but they made my food in a timely fashion and were very pleasant. This is definitely a place I can see myself craving and coming back to the mall to visit. Yea this is really tasty stuff! I saw James had posted about this new place in the Avenues so when I was in the mall, i just had to pop on in! Walking up I wasn't sure what / how to order, but it's very simple...chicken, lamb or mixed plate, they all come with rice, salad, and white sauce on top...I went with the mixed to try both meats and they really load this thing up! Instead of gyro shaved lamb it's thick cubes of gyro meat and the chicken was marinated in like a spiced yogurt maybe, what it was, was delicious! Me and my daughter tore this thing up! lol! fresh, salty, and satisfying! I got the mint cilantro sauce on the side to try it, it was herby and tart, I preferred the white sauce which was light a light garlic sour cream sauce and happy I went with that. Would not normally head to a mall for food, but have been hearing so many good things about this food court place. The prices are very reasonable and with the platter you get SO MUCH food. The staff handled the line pretty quickly and were friendly. The decor and color is nice, makes them stand out a bit in the mall food court. I ordered the mix meat platter with the white sauce, and a side of pita bread. I ordered the mix as I wanted to try the chicken because it was sometime different. There was nice flavor to both the lamb and the chicken however I prefer the lamb. The mix of the fresh veggies, meat, and rice was the prefect combo! I think next time I will skip the pita even though is was delicious because I was stuffed but I didn't want to waste the food. I ordered the gyro sandwich with fries for my husband. I snuck a fry :) it was well seasoned. He said the gyro was a 7/10. I think on my next visit I will try the mint sauce. read more

I have tried halal food when we visited New York a few years ago and I'm so glad Baba's has the same concept. Their location is very convenient after some walking around the mall. We have been here a few times and have tried both the chicken and the lamb entrees and they are delicious. I just don't like the bright orange color of the chicken lol! But it's very tasty and they give a great amount of portion, so very filling! It also comes with a side of salad. They have a few options for the sauce and I would recommend the mint cilantro. This is definitely our top choice among the stalls at the food court. read more

I guess for mall food it's fine but i did have higher expectations after hearing all the raving reviews from everyone. The meat has a very good flavor it's seasoned so well ! But the platter is just very lacking. I didn't want to add too much more to the price so maybe that would've changed the experience but i'm at the mall ya know. Vegetables were just okay. I liked the flavor of the rice! Not much sauce and there's a upcharge for extra. I didn't bother. Good if that's what you're feeling like after a long day of shopping at the mall. Friendly staff and delicious food! The staff here here are enthusiastic and were happy to answer our questions. We tried a sample of their chicken with their white sauce and immediately knew what we wanted to have for dinner. I got the mixed platter with chicken and lamb and a drizzle of their white, cilantro, and spicy sauces. The platter was $12 and was very filling. The chicken really shines and was super tender and flavorful. The lamb was more gyro meat style and little salty for my personal preference but still tasty. Their rice is well seasoned and I love the cumin seeds in it because they give a nice pop of flavor. All the sauces we tried were really good and mixed well together so I recommend trying all three. The rice oh wow the rice is a 10, amazing flavor. The chicken is a 10! very flavorful and fresh. The beef/lamb is a 7.9 at best. Which was dissapointing. As this part is my favorite. Its typical pre made gyro and that leaves you wanting the real thing. It was fresh and cooked well. My shwarma scale is tough, Ive had the best. All over. I added pita and it was delicious and warm. The sauces are veruy good too but a little watery. Overall Im happy, filled and Impressed. I got a L coke, added Pita and it was only $16. Perfect. They will get even better. Go support them. Visited this restaurant during a meal break from work. As I approached the counter a gentleman with glasses very politely acknowledged me and offered me a sample of chicken. The chicken was seasoned with a spicy buffalo type sauce and dipped in a white sauce. The sample was delicious however I had my mind set on A Gyro. I ordered the Gyro with fries and a drink. Another gentleman taking my order was also very polite. The food court had many guests and there was a steady flow of customers to each of the different restaurants. While waiting for my order other customers came to order at Baba's. My meal was boxed in a high quality to go container in a very nice to go bag with logos. I sat in the food court and enjoyed my hot and crispy french fries which were seasoned perfectly. The first bite of my Gyro was incredibly delicious full of meat, warm soft bread, vegetables and white sauce which I believe was tzatziki but cannot be 100% sure, it may have been a different type of white Greek dressing. Whatever it was it was delicious and complimented the Gyro meat seasoning perfectly. I look forward to returning again and promise I will take several pictures and may even order an additional entrée to showcase as well. In the meantime be assured that your visit to Baba's Halal will be worth the trip. Enjoy! read more
