Amazing food and excellent service. The cashier offered a complimentary water since I don't drink sugared of caffeinated drinks. They were super efficient dealing with Christmas Eve flow of traffic . My family stopped in on Thursday night, February 26. We all got cheesesteaks. We continued our drive to Orlando and the next morning all three of us were extremely ill with food poisoning. All three of us were sick all weekend and did not start seeing improvement until Sunday midday. I've attempted multiple times to call the location and no one ever answers the phone. we ordered two Large Philly cheesesteaks and a large order of fries with a side of cheese. They were both smalls, There were no green peppers, onions or mushrooms on the sandwiches as they were supposed to be, There was also no tomato or mayonnaise. The side of cheese never came with the order. so the Philly cheesesteaks that are supposed to come with fried onions, mushrooms, green peppers, lettuce, and tomato were delivered in the wrong size,ice cold with a pickle and shredded lettuce on it instead of what was supposed to be included and no cheese for the fries. When I tried multiple times to call the store to tell them that the order was incorrect and that we were missing items. No one answers the phone and you can't leave a voicemail because the mailbox is full. I will not order from them ever again. read more

On a shopping hiatus with family I ended up buying more food than anything else. LOL! On our way out I walked around from Chinese, to American and all of the in betweens trying to figure out what I wanted. After being offered a few samples I opted for the longest line of them all, Charley's! I ordered the large Philly, no veggies, extra steak and fries. This Philly Cheesesteak was EVERYTHING and moooore! I wish I would have got two large sandwiches instead of paying for extra steak but either way it was worth it! I would come back here in a heart beat! ...And don't let them add chilli and cheese to their fries, then I'm moving in for sure!!! I don't like this location as well as I do the one in the Orange Park Mall food court, but it's ok. The main reason is because the customer service here is hit or miss. They have one cook here who always has a pissy look on his face and when I ask him to cook my cheesesteak a little longer (because I like the cheese really melted), he always gives me a pissy look. There can be no one else there, he has nothing else to do, but it's like leaving my cheesesteak on the grill for a couple of extra minutes is such a huge inconvenience for him. Sorry, buddy. All I have to say is, "Do your job!" Anyway, aside from the one "pissy" cook, I've had good customer service from others. The food cheesesteaks are always good and filling. Not the best cheesesteak I've ever had in my life, but when I'm craving one and I'm near (or inside) The Avenues Mall, it works in a pinch. I do not recommend the bacon cheese fries. I said the same thing in my review about Charley's at OP Mall. Grossly covered in cheese that tastes like it comes straight from a can. So much cheese you can't even taste the fries.... and it's not even good cheese. Stick with just the cheesesteak and you'll have a good meal. Usually the 12" is more than enough to share with someone. read more

We ordered two "regular" sized sandwiches and only ate half- saving the other half for later. Service was great, personable & friendly. Very quick wait time- watched them make it from scratch. This is a must hit when I am shopping the mall- I love their fries! specifically the bacon-cheese fries. Great, inexpensive treat if you need a nibble but not a whole meal. Now- the lemonade- hmmmm- I am a sucker for strawberry lemonade and other fruity combos and they knock it out of the park. My warning is the bits-o-fruit will suck right up the straw and surprise you. I got the large strawberry- lemonade last night to accompany my fries and share with my boys and the fries disappeared before I thought to snap a picture. I am so bad at that sometimes! Ordered 4 bone-in wings, garlic parm, fries, small coke ($2.49). Plus a small, extra cheese bacon cheesesteak. Wings were dry, only ate two, fries were not hot or crispy. My cheesesteak was sad, the was dry & tasteless. After 3 bites, I opened the sandwich & just ate the bacon. The rest I threw away along w the other 2 wings, & fries. I wished I would of complained but didn't want to eat anything they had. The whole dinner was $ 17.71 too expensive for sub- par food. read more

When I lived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania there was a Charley's in the mall I worked in. I always ate the chicken cheese steak with buffalo sauce and ranch dressing on it. I never forgot how good that was. It was the weekend and of course the mall gets packed. I chose this place to eat because I love cheese steak. The line wasn't that long when I got there, but getting my food was another story. It took a little bit to get my food. I still appreciate that they cook it right in front of you and the cook looked like a regular fry cook (kinda grouchy and overheated). He wasn't rude or angry though. They prepared my food to order and it was delicious. I mean, of you're willing to wait for your food, then this will work fine. The chicken was cooked perfectly, melted cheese was great, and my fries were amazing. It's mall food though. So don't expect high class service. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. The food itself is good and I find it interesting that they cook it in front of you, that way you know that the food is prepared to order and not just microwaved in the back. When I come here, I used to order the classic Philly Cheesesteak and French Fries (which by the way, are easily better than any oversalted mess from McDonalds) However, they've since changed the cheese in the PCS from provolone to White American, which kind of ruined the whole thing. Now, my order of choice is the pepperoni cheesesteak (or something like that) and fries, which I usually add some Malt Vinegar or seasoning to. The food is easily the best fast-food place in the mall cafeteria, or really any fast food joint in Jacksonville. read more

Man, the service is always bad. The workers are more focused on talking to each other than cooking my food to where the cheese will at least melt on my sub. Maybe Charley's should pay their associate's more, that way they can at least fake being nice. Absolutely no personality or care from these people. I asked if they had wraps and the cashier responded to me like I was insane for asking and told me they haven't had them in a long time. I only ever started eating at Charley's 'cause I loved their wraps. Their bread isn't my favorite, but the wraps were on point. The cheese sauce for the fries is also pretty terrible.
