Both of these were very good. My husband ended up getting a chicken club or something because they were out of the two the things he wanted to try. He also ordered the bacon and cheese tots. His food items were very bland , no seasoning. He did not enjoy it. Overall it was ok, maybe it was the rush.

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!

What really sets them apart is that they make their own bread in-house, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect foundation for an incredible sandwich. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can tell there's so much love and care poured into every item they serve. Between the generous portions, homemade bread, and genuine hospitality, it's easy to see why people keep coming back. If this was my first sandwich, I can only imagine how good the rest of the menu is. I can't wait to come back and try more!

I stopped by for lunch after being invited to try their Cuban sandwich, a fitting challenge for a shop that has built its reputation on oversized portions and doing things the old fashioned way. The bread is baked in house, the mojo marinade is made from scratch, and that attention to detail shows up in every bite. Calling this sandwich "large" doesn't quite capture it. It's enormous. Thick enough to make you question your strategy before the first bite, and easily enough food for two, maybe even four lighter eaters. Inside the soft house-made bread is a generous stack of mojo marinated pulled pork, thick slices of ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. It's substantial without feeling sloppy, every ingredient has a purpose. The timing of this visit couldn't have been better. I had just returned from two weeks in Miami, where Cuban sandwiches and Medianoches were part of my regular diet. Those flavors were still fresh in my memory. Blue Boy isn't trying to recreate Little Havana. This isn't served on traditional crusty Cuban bread, and that's perfectly fine. This is Jacksonville's interpretation, a Duval Cuban that respects the original while confidently doing its own thing. The pork is juicy and packed with citrus and garlic from the mojo. The ham adds saltiness, the Swiss melts into every layer, and the mustard and pickles provide the sharp, tangy contrast that every great Cuban needs. It checks every box while carving out its own identity. Some sandwiches are lunch. This one is lunch, dinner, and maybe tomorrow's snack if you somehow manage not to finish it all. Blue Boy proves that honoring tradition doesn't always mean copying it. Sometimes the best local classics are the ones that confidently become their own tradition.

From the moment we laid eyes on the pastry case, our jaws were on the floor. Everything we had was amazing -- the breakfast sandwich on sourdough, ham & cheese croissant, matcha cheesecake blueberry croissant tart, and the brie country ham & hot honey galette. JUST WOW! We also got some lattes to fuel our morning and I opted for their special brown butter sesame latte -- yum! The bakery itself is very cute with some market and pantry items available to shop as well. The staff was very patient as we asked a million questions about all the pastries before making our selections. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the downtown Jax area!

A cute little spot with a lot of specialized baked goods that will make you want to get one of everything. The service was super friendly and helpful. We ended up getting a few of the baked goods to share for breakfast and I got the matcha lemonade. The lemonade was a good change of pace from my usual matcha latte. To share, we got the matcha cheesecake blueberries danish, the brie country ham and hot honey galette, and a ham and cheese croissant. Everything was delicious and devoured! The inside is also super cute to peruse around and maybe grab something. They have stickers, and a few odds and ends that might interest anyone to get at least one thing. Such a cute bakehouse in Jax!

And, well, my sons both have the facial fur thing going on, so the name got my attention as well! I stopped by for lunch today with one of my sons. We decided to order the Steak Wrap, the Murphy Chorizo Burrito, and an order of loaded Hash Rounds. Our food was ready in about 5 minutes! We brought it home to eat, but I have to tell you, the tantalizing aroma of all those spices and goodness was enough to make me want to rip open my box right there in the car! This is some of THE BEST food I've had anywhere in a long time! The grilled veggies (peppers & onions) were perfect-not too hard, not too soft (although personally I prefer mine a bit softer, I think the Bearded Chef has it just right, cooked to please almost anyone. The steak in my wrap was tender. Cheese oozed out of everything! My sons burrito was equally tasty with all sorts of flavors combining to make really an ultimate burrito. The Loaded Hash Rounds are plump fried mounds of potato (handmade) with chorizo sausage, cheese and topped with lime crema.
