Best food on base hands down. Fresh, hot, and almost no wait time.

When I saw this food truck parked out near the front of my neighborhood I got "eggcited" because I…read morelove eggs. And before I get too far into this I want to say the food was good. The flavors were nice and everything was prepared well. However, and this may be just my opinion but, if you're going to call your food truck "The Fried Egg" perhaps eggs should be a part of the make up of most of you menu items. Given the current menu options I think a better name for this truck would be "The Fried Egg is a $1 add-on option." I mentioned to the young lady taking my order that it surprised me that, given the name of the truck, I would have to pay an up charge for an egg. She relayed my sentiments to the cook, who may have been the manager or owner. Nevertheless, I ordered the Classic Smash Burger and did ask for the fried egg add-on. The food was prepared really quickly and the burger looked perfect. However, the young lady informed me that unfortunately they only had 4 eggs left and that they all fell and broke on the floor before my burger was ready. So she handed me a $1 bill as a refund. Obviously disappointed (and skeptical of the story) I accepted the refund and went on my way. The short of it is that while I was eggstremly disappointed by the lack of eggs, the burger was quite good and the fries were wonderful. I would have given this experience 4 stars, I can overlook the name thing, but not being able to have any eggs from The Fried Egg food truck left me somewhat disappointed.

This was my second time getting a burger at The Fried Egg. It was a perfect smash burger and the…read morefries were equally as good. Fast fresh food and friendly service!

He is visiting us this weekend and spotted this food truck in our neighborhood and said it smelled delicious as he drove by. Hubby and I were not around but encouraged him to go get dinner. He loves barbecue and has been raised with some great barbecue by my hubby (a novice barbecue chef) and the top rated local barbecue favorite spots. He says this was hands down some of the best barbecue he has ever had. He said, "Mom you have to post this truck". The food was awesome and the people were so nice. And so cheap. His plate of chicken, macaroni and cheese and collard greens was $8. Seriously! Check them out according to my son! They are local out of the beach area.

Average unfortunately. There were no prices listed on the menu, which I thought was weird. The man…read moresaid "it depends" re the price (on what, not sure). He was out of several sides by 12:30, so I got pulled pork with beans and potato salad, for $13 plus tax and tip. The meat was decent, had some smoke flavor but a weird texture, not like actual smoked meat, more like slow cooker pork. Great mustard sauce on top, though (he put it on without my asking, but I didn't mind.) The beans were ok, very sweet. The potato salad was terrible, looked and tasted more like egg salad. Probably wouldn't try again.

My son and I had steak burritos served by two young men that were in the trailer very friendly. We sat outside on some picnic bunches, listening to the Spanish music. It's a one-person operation, so service can be a bit slow, but the food feels authentically made with care. We ordered the 2 burritos, 2 tacos, and a drink deal. Burritos are medium-sized, comparable to Chipotle, and while one is enough for me, the full combo would just satisfy a bigger appetite. The burritos were a bit soggy and could've been more generously filled. The tacos were the stars -- palm-sized but packed with flavor. The tripa taco was perfectly fatty and crispy, while the lengua was soft and flavorful. I'd come back for the tacos over the burritos. Drinks are self-serve from a cooler in front of the truck. There are two self-serve salsas -- a fresh green one and a spicier red; I preferred the red for its kick. Price-wise, it's on the higher end for a taco truck, which might be a drawback for some. Still, the taste delivers. If you're not in a rush and want a casual, no-frills taco stop with strong flavors, Jalapeño Express is worth trying.

When I pulled up there were several folks waiting for their food. I ordered the classic Cuban and sweet plantains. I was given a beeper and waited in my car because it was hot LOL. I called a friend while I waited and the beeper went off roughly 12 minutes later. I walked back to the window grabbed my food and went home to eat. The food was hot and fresh. The Cuban was huge so I ate half and saved the rest. The bread was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside which was perfect to me! It was loaded with pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. It was a fabulous sandwich bursting with many flavors. The serving of plantains was large. Roughly 6 to 7 pieces. They were hot, tender and sweet. I enjoyed the meal and the service was friendly. I would absolutely eat from Chef EZ's food truck again! I hope they'll come back to my neighborhood soon;)
