One of my favorite go to place for burgers! Lots of choices even for vegan / vegetarian options. The burgers have good flavors, big portion size and the fries are crispy on the outside without being overly salted. Their quality has been super consistent the past few years I've been ordering from them! They have machines when you walk in to self-service and put in the order. It's an elevated burger paradise! The dining room is cozy, and minimal. The menu is insane. Good luck picking just one. Took me a solid 10 minutes just to decide on my burger, they all sound so amazing. Sides the same. Plus the burger, shake, sides of the month, it's dizzying! As a Celiac sucferer, I need a gluten free option, and this is where Epik really shines. I'd estimate 90% of their menu is, or can be had gluten-free. Stopped by the new Epik Burger in St. Johns County today and I'm honestly still thinking about it. The place has a great vibe, the people were super friendly, and everything came out fast and fresh but the real winner was the Epikurean Burger. Let me tell you... this burger was freaking amazing. I've tried a lot of burgers over the years, but the flavors in this one caught me completely off guard, in a good way. It had layers of taste I didn't even know you could put in a burger. Epik never disappoints. Mom is undiagnosed celiac, so sometimes eating out is a little difficult for her. She had her choice for Mother's Day lunch, and this is where she picked. :) Epik goes out of their way to ensure that so much of their menu is safe for her to eat, including the french fries AND onion rings. On top of that, both of us have a dairy allergy. Epik has multiple choices of vegan cheeses and milkshakes. I'm not proud of it when I say it, but I generally leave there with the best kind of bellyache. It's great! I finally made it out to Epik after seeing their extensive selection of veggie burgers. I ended up ordering the divine burger which had a brioche bun, Brie cheese, caramelized onion and of course a veggie Pattie. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries with the signature sauce. I was craving a "burger" on my lunch break and really needed a veggie option. I ended up at Epik burger and I am so glad that I did. The environment is very clean and a great place for dining in. I liked the option to order via a kiosk and the fact that they had monthly burger suggestions. The service was efficient, although I wish I would've order about 15 mins in advance. I was in a rush and hungry at the same time. My friend opted for the cordon bleu and she advised it was very good and fresh. I loved their lemonade although I was unable to finish it. Got the Epik Burger Bricoche Bun, 1/2 Beef Patty with Cheddar Cheese and It was really delicious and juicy. The fries complemented it as well with the sauce. The self-serve ordering screen may take some time as you scroll down the add-ons but the staff is there to assist whenever there are issues and they are friendly. There is plenty of parking and it seemed that the customers really enjoyed their meal as I did at this new burger joint discovery. Walked in to a half full dining room of patrons sitting at very empty tables. That should have been my first sign. Ordered anyway. Kitchen was extremely backed up, which happens, however when we asked how long, after it had been 30 minutes we were told the burgers were on the grill and it should be 15 minutes. How a medium and a medium rare burger takes 15 minutes is beyond me, so obviously that was a lie. When asked again if our food was on the grill, no one seemed to know. I understand kitchens get backed up and things happen but had there been better communication when we got there about the wait, and the progress of our food I wouldn't be writing this. We had time sensitive plans and had we known the truth about the food we wouldn't have waited. After 50 minutes we were offered a milkshake, that then ironically came out after the food. It was a difficult day of garage cleaning and reorganizing! When my friends and I completed the work, it was time to decide where to eat. It was slow the day I visited as we were the only customers at the time - others filtered in for takeout during the visit. All the seating here is similar - wooden seats and tables in a rather small eating area. From what I saw, most came in for pickup and preorders. I try to eat less red meat these days so I chose the BBQ Chicken Burger. I was attracted when I saw it that came with a large onion ring and coleslaw on it! The BBQ sauce was more of a tangy variety but worked very well with the burger. My friend had the Guac Vegan Burger, which was filled with a lot of guac, as you'd expect, lettuce, tomato and onion. These burgers are large and a good step above fast food burgers, which I enjoy! My fries were fresh out of the fryer and without salt as requested! And I received a good quantity of them. I couldn't find much to take off any stars here. The staff was courteous, very respectful with requests - it all added up to a pleasant eating experience after a hard day's work! I have been meaning to get over to this side of Jax to try a burger since reading about Epik. It can be challenging to find a place that offers so many burger customizations. I love the option to order at a kiosk or at the counter. Personally, I love the kiosk so I can get my order just right. The typical strip mall space was designed well. Three kiosk are in one wall as you enter, a bunch a tables, the counter area and condiment wall. We placed our order and found a table. Our fountain drinks were brought to us pretty quickly and food soon after that. We were also offered drink refills multiple times. I was a little disappointed at first to see my burger. The lettuce wrap was another reason for wanting to try Epik, but sadly it wasn't wrapped, more placed on top. A fork and knife meal this way, so I grabbed some utensils from the condiment area. Still delicious, but I was expecting a bit more lettuce. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger, the way it comes, with 1/3 lb. beef burger cooked medium. It was cooked perfectly and the flavors of the bacon, butter, Swiss cheese and mushrooms tasted fantastic together. My husband ordered the Fruit & Cheese burger. He loved the burger with the poached apples, bacon, honey, and cheese on a baguette. He said the order of regular fries was good, but the burger wowed him. So, my fam and I tried this place for the 1st time for lunch. I only gave it 3 stars for reasons I'll explain now: One, I think I made a rookie mistake and paid for an upcharge beef patty blend ($3.50) of Brisket, Chuck, and short-rib and then added even more toppings onto the "Le Steakhouse Burger", which already had horseradish sauce and carmelized onions. I probably should have left it alone and not added the Blue Cheese Mousse, and the Blackberry Demi-glace. I ended up with burger soup: Not only did it flavors get muttled, but just too much liquid and I felt hid the flavor of the beef that I paid extra for. I would probably re-do it as even less toppings if I go back. The Fries, (The Big Fatty) we bought one $16.00 order of smothered fries that had a fried egg on top. We asked for it over easy. I felt we were mislead as far as the size. We were planning on sharing it among 4 out of 5 of us at the table, so when it arrived it was much smaller than imagined. Plus the egg's yolk - there wasn't much of it to really make a sauce with. We asked for Blue cheese. crumbles on the side, which they did bring a ramekin of it (since one in our party doesn't like blue cheese), but some us felt they had some in the fries as well. The kiosk for ordering needs to be calibrated, because just trying to scroll through the list of toppings ends up adding them and you then have to find what got accidentally added and then remove it. We gave up and went to the counter and had them put in our orders for us. I didn't get a milkshake, but the rest of did and they all enjoyed theirs. They all enjoyed their burgers, but my Father-in-Law wanted just a plain ol'-fashioned burger and so we could have really stayed closer to home to get something like that. Even though you order at the kiosk or at the counter, they bring the food to you, rather than you picking it up and they also clean the tables for you as there is no trash can for you to do that yourself. The service was good and for the most part they got our orders correct. The place is clean, but it's a pretty small dining area over all. Probably less tables than a Five Guys. After tip, I think our bill was about $150.00 That's getting into fine dining prices. Five burgers, four shakes and a fountain drink, one personal order of sweet potato fries and then the one ordered to share. I think it was filling over all. My wife was tempted to order a 2nd batch of fries for sharing and I talked her out of it, saying we should wait to see how we feel toward the end. My only real gripe was that it took a while for the food to come out. Maybe like 25-30 minutes. The place is also kinda small so with that kind of turnover it can get hard to find seats. It's possible that they were simply just short of staff that day, since we did go around the holidays. But nevertheless the staff there were polite. The ordering kiosk helps me make my decision by having pictures of every item and I don't really go any faster cause the menu is so appealing. The ingredients are great quality and fresh.
