The Sea Biscuit. Comes with the best fries.
    Mike S.

Twisted Root really caught me off guard and in the best way. When coming to the food trucks I saw their name and figured it was going to a vegetarian or vegan food truck but boy was I wrong. They have meat and seafood!!! I ordered the Sea Biscuit which is a fried shrimp sandwich with a tasty sauce, cole slaw, and fried onions. This sandwich was amazing! One of the best shrimp sandwiches I have ever had. The bread was perfect, the Yum Yum Saucce was delicious and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The sandwich also came with fries which were also amazing. They had an amazing seasoning on them and I could eat them all day. Amazing food truck and I can't wait for them to be back.

994TWISTING ROOTS was at Kanine Social and I was hungry. I didn't want bread so I ordered the loaded fries with chicken. The order was over $10 and was a shareable item it was so big. The chicken was generous and the sauce was spicy sweet and nice over the crispy fries. I now have lunch for the next day also.. :)

Twisting Roots is better than Twisted Okie is better than Twisted T's Lol. I got the bikini bottom, which is a shrimp and crawfish sandwich. The ciabatta bun is just the right amount of hardness and stays together really well. The umami of the two shellfish becomes tangled together in the breading, and drenched in sauces, which work well with the veggies too. Delicious. The plantains have a good amount of sweetness and work well as a side.

One of our neighbors got the food truck to come to our neighborhood for dinner time. Food was amazing and having them in our neighborhood was such a great social experience during this covid19 time. Got to meet neighbors and enjoyed great food. Since the sandwiches were served cut in halves, my daughter and I split halves. I had the Bikini Bottom with shrimp, crawfish fried onions and special sauce served with seasoned fries and a can of soda. My daughter got the sea biscuit with shrimp and fried onions and all the fixins. Both sandwiches were amazing! And the price wasn't bad for the large sandwiches, fries and a drink. The Cajun flavors with the crispy fried onions, crawfish and shrimp tasted so good with the buttery toasted bread. Hope they come to our neighborhood again!

Massive menu. Settled on the Twist Roots. The sandwich was filling, but it was quite pricy in my opinion. However it was very flavorful! Sweet plantains were alright - Didn't finish it. Sauce went great with the sandwich and plantains. This lunch set me back $17 minus tip. Ouch.

    Pollo en Fire wrap

The Twisting Roots food truck was onsite at Losco Park for a Losco Blue Back 2 School Bash. My wife and I ordered and shared three entrees. Both of us can definitely eat! 1. Pollo En Fire wrap - chicken served with aioli, tomatoes, fried onions, arugula and sauce. This wrap only cost $6 and it came with homemade chips and a drink. Great deal! 2. Pichi Cerdo - sofrito roasted pork with guava glaze topped with fried onions and plantain. 3. Carne de Bourbon - slow roasted skirt steak with a habanera maple glaze topped with fried onions and plantain. The aioli, tomatoes, and arugula were perfect with the sandwiches and wrap. They brought out the great flavors of each meat. Delicious! Each combo deals come with homemade chips and you can upgrade to seasoned fries for an additional $1. I hope I see them again soon because I would like to try their Twisted Roots. A tasty trio of pork, beef, and crispy fried crawfish with savory sweet pineapple glaze with fried onions and plantain. Doesn't that sound good?

Always ready to try a new food truck and this was good stuff. Good flavor combinations and prices. I ordered the Pichi Cerdo - pork, guava glaze, fried onions (canned) and plantains but I didn't taste any plantains at all. Overall a good experience so I would try them again.

Such a disappointing experience. We rarely patron food trucks, but this one was at an event we were attending. We ordered the chicken taco plate, a shrimp taco plate and a side of plaintains. The worker said for $2 more we could make it 2 tacos plus a side. We agreed and paid + tip. We received 1 plate instead of 2. We let the same woman know that this was incorrect, that we ordered 2 plates. She instructed us to wait while she got the 2nd plate. 10 minutes later she called us to the window to say that she did not charge us for the 2nd plate. I assured her she did, and added all the charges for her. She then changed the price from what was listed on the menu board and said that the combo plate was $14. I pointed out to her that was not what her menu says and in fact the #14 did not even appear anywhere on the menu. Another customer behind me also told her the same. We left with our food that now only fed half our party, only to find that we had half cooked fries and undercooked plantains. The buzz at the event amongst the crowd was how deceitful these Twisted Roots staff were and everyone saying they felt cheated by them.

Ordered at the front counter and was greeted by a friendly young lady... good start. I went in planning to get the muffaleta off the specials board. They checked on it, but no luck... they were out of the cuts needed. I was pointed toward the Italian, but my buddy already grabbed that and I felt like being different. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Today was about trying something different, and I'm glad I did... even if it didn't knock my socks off.

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!

My son and I have been trying restaurants in this area and this was next on our list. Store was very clean, as I said before service was outstanding. Here's a list of the food we tried: Drink stand - not many selections, but they do have Coke products. Sweet tea - they have not perfected the taste of Southern sweet tea, but it was fine French fries - crisp crunchy exterior soft, interior, really well done. . Egg salad sandwich - it was just an egg salad sandwich, no better no worse than others, just fine . European Gyro - this was a normally euro stuff with french fries, it was a cool look in the dish was good. Overall, I wanted to love this place, and it was fine. But that's all it was was fine, they played it safe, they didn't try to spice up their menu or give you a number of unique specials. They just serve decent food at what I thought was a high price. For instance, my egg salad sandwich, and I'm an egg salad, lover, Fair but it was $13 without many side drink or chips. Most places, including Tidbits, which is one of their competitors, is less than $5. But I have to say they five other restaurants in this strip center, including the powerhouse Mexican food at El Castillo, Donato's Pizza, Mad o' Seafood, a Latino restaurant and Açaí Bowls. So if you're going to compete with these other restaurants, I think you need to go above and beyond. Maybe highlight Middle Eastern dishes, maybe makes egg salad with some curry powder, and don't charge so much for just plain sandwiches. I don't have any qualms about going back, but I also don't have anything to draw me back. That special dish or that special thing. And that seem to be the theme with the other people that came in. This was a first time visit for a lot of people , and a regular crowd just wasn't there. Maybe that is telling.
