I opted for beef bulgogi and it came with rice, a fried dumpling, japchae, kimchi, pickled veggies, Korean rolled egg, bean sprouts, and a couple of other sides. The food was ready faster than the 15 minutes quoted, which was great. I enjoyed the bulgogi. It was tender and had good flavor. The pickled veggies and kimchi were the most flavorful sides. I also liked the japchae. The dumpling was too greasy, as evidenced by the grease in the wrapper and the egg and rice didn't have much flavor. The egg needed salt. I really wanted - and should've ordered - the Korean hot dog...next time. This place has great customer service and packaging. It's a bit pricey at $20 for what you get or for comparable options, which are within the $15-17 range.

You know what I didn't really want or collect as a kid? Trucks. Sorry Tonka. But I just didn't care about dump trucks or bulldozers or big rigs. And you know what, I kind of felt that way as an adult about food trucks. I mean, to me they were fine, but like my penchant for hot wheels in the past, I'd rather go to a sit down restaurant. Yeah, well Taste of Korea has me rethinking my food truck aversion! Located in a pretty ordinary parking lot on Beach Blvd, this is definitely a little food truck that can deliver some fantastic food! The guy taking orders is super friendly and patient as a noob like me tried to figure out what to order. Ultimately went with the Premium Doshirak, the bibimbap and the kimbap. For both the doshirak and the bibimbap I got the bulgogi beef for the protein. On the kimbap I tried the ham. All were excellent. The Doshirak is a cool box filled with banchan - small side dishes, and cooked rice. The banchan include Kimche, Japchae, fried dumplings and some cool desserts. The blogs is excellent and all of the banchan tasted great. I thought the eggplant was a little mushy but the flavor was still really good. Bibimbap flavor was excellent as well. The only downside is that the rice at the bottom doesn't get all crunchy from being cooked at the bottom of the hot bowl. But it was a minor issue to me. And the kimbap was super fresh. The ham wasn't overpowering and it was a nice change from getting role bulgogi in the kimbap as well. The only wish I have is more variation on the proteins for the dishes we got. But the food is super tasty and I look forward to going back to try the fried chicken and well, anything else on the menu. Maybe I'll bring a matchbox car or two to help pass the time while waiting for the food!

Well, the owner of the food truck (Will) is a Jacksonville'n. He wanted to go home and give his home town Jax peeps a lil sumthin sumthin of what they have to offer, Hawaiian and Filipino food. So on their first trial, they set camp just right outside the Orange Park Mall parking lot....and it was a hit. The smell and aroma alone coming out of their roof vents was enough to attract you to the truck like Zombies to noises. Their menu is pretty simple. The top sellers here are their Signature Plates: Huli Huli Chicken, Teriyaki Beef and Kalua Pork. I ordered the Huli Huli Chicken (5/5), Kalua Pork (5/5), Spicy Spam Musubi (5/5) and Regular Spam Musubi (4/5)...all fantastic in their own rights. They also offer sandwiches and spam musubi's. As an East Coast local joy from Kaimuki on Oahu I was psyched when I saw that I was going to be in Orlando and Chef Willi would be at a local micro-brew. So I ordered a Spam Musubi, the Huli-Huli Chicken plate lunch and the Kal-Bi Rib plate lunch. The proteins had a good char on them which is important. The Kal Bi ribs were very tasty just like I remembers them and the boneless Huli-Huli chicken had a nice sweet taste to it. The rice was made in a rice cooker so of course perfect and the Mac salad was good - a bit too creamy for my taste but the best I've had on the mainland. Ordered it medium rare and it came out juicy and very flavorful. Loved the seasoning and smokey grilled flavor. The fried rice was great too with good seasoning and a buttery flavor. I would say the main thing that they need to improve on is putting a description of their food somewhere. I probably wouldn't have gotten the fried rice if I hadn't looked up what Costa Rican fried rice was. Not (necessarily) the fault of the food truck, but one of our friends was incredibly disappointed at the tacos, because they hadn't looked up Costa Rican tacos and are not a fan of mustard. I thought they looked pretty good though and I might try that next time they come back. But in his defense, even looking them up I'm seeing a lot of variation, so definitely having some descriptions of the menu items would do this truck a lot of good. The only downside is it took 2 hours . Not sure if that's the norm due to this being first time, but definitely took a while, luckily I was able to sit in the car All the food was good. Gumbo was great, the brisket was flavorful and tender, the sides were great. The wings were really good, my least favorite was probably the mac and cheese. Oh! And I also got the black cherry lemonade, so good!
