Came here for the first time during my lunch for a pedicure. They seemed busy, but they were able to accommodate me which was a plus. Other walk-ins after me were turned down. The pedicure was just OK... the nail tech did a fairly long lotion massage that made me want to tell her to stop. It seemed like she kind of zoned out and the chair massage felt better than the lackluster one she did on me. So far, my polished toes still look good after a week so no complaints there. read more

Wish I could give a zero star review. Came in and asked for a gel mani. Was told it's a 30 minute wait. Then asked what about a pedi, they said the same. Okay so we wait, me and my mother. Two WHITE People walk in and just stand there and they are seated before us...and then I am asked what services I want and to take a seat. Then I say "what about my mom she wants a mani/pedi as well?" The only man working in the shop says can she wait because he thought only I was waiting for service. I told him "we've been waiting". I am in love with both their pedicures and their acrylics. All of the girls really spend time and don't rush through their services. Literally spent 10 minutes massaging each of my legs! My stepmom has been telling me about Ben for years, but since I live in Hayward I preferred closer nail shops. Two weeks ago my sister was visiting from college for spring break. We were out in Dublin, so I decided to treat us to a pedicure at the shop my stepmom raves about. They were able to take us 30mins later without an appointment. They have band new massage chairs that I love! My sister had Roy and I believe I had Sandy. My pedi was so relaxing. Sandy took her time, was very thorough and gave me a nice long calf massage. Everyone there was nice. My sister and I were very pleased with our pedicures. Looks like I will be driving to Pleasanton to get my mani/pedi from now on. read more

All in all, VERY TOXIC AND UNSAFE AND RACIST. All people of color: find salons where you're respected! The Asian (East Asian descent) women eyed us suspiciously from the moment we opened the door. They just stared at us while they took white customers (also walk ins) before us and kept us waiting. We are dark skinned people of color who went in very politely asking about prices for manicures and their services. When one associate finally came up to us, they refused to tell us prices and even asked us "why do you want to know our services and price? You live here?" Meaning...do dark skinned people afford to live in Pleasanton. Initially I thought there was an issue with English so as people of color ourselves, we were extra patient and calm and just repeated our question. My friend is allergic to certain nail polish brands so we asked if the (extremely noxious) smell in the salon was from a certain brand they use. At that point, another woman (long curly reddish hair) came from the register and asked us why we were standing in her store and to go outside. We said we were asking about services because we wanted to get manicures. She invaded my personal space to reach behind me very aggressively to open the door behind us and literally pushed us out and locked it while white customers were still inside. This is racism. Don't go here. Also, they use bad chemicals as the smell was noxious. Our eyes burned even from the few minutes we spent being racially harassed in there. They also were mixing a previous customer's foot bath water with a new customer's to save on water. read more

She filed my nails so much I was wondering if I'd have any acrylic left! I get the gel polish, she wouldn't let the 2nd timer run out so because of that she had to repaint one ughhh so much for one hour. Now a week later my nails look bad. Eh. Nothing special about the mani/pedis we received here today (myself & my 5 yr old daughter), nail tech tried to leave before polishing my nails, and then tried to overcharge me at the end. I asked for pedicures & manicures for us both when I walked in. I guess the girl who did my pedicure didn't hear or understand me, because when she finished my pedicure, she was packing up to leave. I asked if anyone was going to do my manicure? Then she asked if I wanted one. I said yes? She called someone else over to do my manicure and then sat down at one of the empty nail stations to play on her phone. I felt like she just didn't want to work anymore and pretended to forget that I had asked for both a mani/pedi when I sat down. The next lady who did my manicure was rough and fast. She asked me what color did I want, I said "clear." She finished my manicure withOUT painting my nails! She just left. I thought she was going to get clear polish for me, but after waiting 5 min it was evident she felt she was done. I then asked a 3rd girl if I could get some clear polish on my nails, as I had asked for clear at the start of my manicure. (I've NEVER said "clear" and had someone think that meant "no polish at all."!) She called the manicure girl back over who put one single coat of clear polish on my nails and left again. This salon does have pricing posted, which I thought was nice upon walking in. Child's pedicure: $15. Child's manicure: $10. Adult basic pedicure: $22. Adult manicure: $15. This should come out to $62 total. When I went to pay, the woman says "$25 for your daughter, $40 for you. $65 total." I said, "Isn't my pedicure only $22? Shouldn't the total be $62?" She said something I couldn't understand, and then charged me only $55 after I called her out for trying to overcharge me by $3. I did leave a tip, although I felt I shouldn't have. Oh, and we were the youngest customers in there - if you're over 70, this is the place to go, at least on a weekday. I kept wondering if there was a senior center nearby that all these old ladies came from. Won't be going back - poor service and attempt to overcharge at the end. read more

2nd time coming here and this time was the last. I've been hesitant coming here because of the negative reviews but decided to still give them a chance. I just recently moved to Pleasenton so I'm not familiar with the area. All I know is the lady at the front both times was extremely rude and NEVER DO WAXING HERE. I came to Professional Nails for a mani/pedi. My pedicure was great, but I would not come back. My gel manicure peeled off after about 6 days. I'm giving 2 stars because of my experience with my manicurist. She was insistent that I do three long rounds (so 6 minutes) under the UV light PER hand, PER coat. This would have been a total of 48 minutes under the lights which seems dangerous and unnecessary. I told her 5+ times I would not do that and each time she would take my wrist and try to stick it back under the light. It really took away from my experience and I suspect over-curing is what made the gel start chipping after a few days. read more

Nancy is great! I have long and strong natural nails, but my thumb nail broke and a couple of my other nails had a split on the edge. I requested a manicure, and to have my damaged nails fixed with acrylic. I didn't realize they did silk wraps here! She was able to create a new thumb nail with a fake nail/silk wrap and reinforced my split nails with the silk wrap as well. It's a much more natural alternative to acrylic and my nails look perfect! You can't even tell which ones are silk wrapped. The manicure itself was great with a long relaxing hand massage. I chose black as my nail color, and she recommended one with some slight shimmer to it. Beautiful! Will definitely be back. read more

This place ir right by my boyfriends house and I needed my nails done ASAP. I walked in and noticed three people there getting nails done and maybe five employees. The place was very clean and organized. I picked my color and they started on my Pedi/Mani. They had their own conversation the entire time and just kind of ignored me (that's fine). They finished up and quickly moved to someone else. After about 20min of me just sitting there I asked if I could pay and leave. The lady did not say anything just stared at me for about three minutes and then finally said $38. I paid tipped them and walked out. Price was good. They just do their own thing. In addition to his professionalism - he's a nice guy, you can actually have a nice conversation with him (unlike other nail technicians Ive been too). I also appreciate the fact that Ben and his staff are current with the latest nail trends and designs. He is reknown for his "Air Brushed - French Tip " which you can't find anywhere - Ive looked... The staff as a whole is great - you can ask for Nancy if Ben is not available in fact, all the pedicurist are wonderful! The environment is relaxing and peaceful - definitely a treat after a long day at work! They offer beverages for your enjoy too. Boy Oh Boy... I cannot say enough regarding the "GREAT" care Nancy takes when working on my feet... Unfortunately... both of my big toes have started to give me trouble... I thank my lucky stars that Nancy is taking care of them... She has to dig a little... but... when I walk out of there, my feet do not hurt like they did when I walked in!!! I feel very secure with the cleanliness of the Salon and the fact that she has to "operate" on my feet... All the utensils are sterilized and the basins are disinfected after every customer... I give Nancy a 10 out of 10 on her pedicures... I give Professional Nails a 10 out of 10 on the overall Salon... Luckily... I don't have any problem finger nails...
