Went in but one of us had a baby and they denied us service! They refused to seat us at the bar which is part of the happy hour. I mean, what baby is drinking at the bar?!!! Incredibly silly and unprofessional. Fine they don't want to seat the group at the bar because of a baby, at least offer the happy hour at the table that we were forced to sit at. No they didn't. We left. This isn't how you treat customers. People go out to eat to relax and have a good time. There are plenty of restaurants nearby with warm ambiance and great food options. This place was not it. I bet the food is probably horrible, hence the happy hour to get people in the door. Bad staff. Bad place. Go somewhere that cares for their customers.

Fast forward to June 2026, we had my engagement brunch here with 48 of us on a Sunday afternoon. Worked with Johnny throughout the entire planning from the menu to how I wanted the tables to be set up. My friend designed the menu and Johnny was able to print a menu out for each table. He even offered to design the menu as well. Planning was seamless and communication was great! We ordered a bunch of items and everything worked out well. The venue is clean, modern, and beautiful and I had zero decor and setup of my own because it wasn't needed. We had such a blast and stayed for 4 hours. There was a bar and cafe and people could go grab coffee but obviously I had to get the strawberry macha for all my guests and they all loved it! There was a golf sim upstairs that we wished we went to after the party but couldn't, but it's such a nice place that is "all in one." Marco Polo Restaurant is located just beyond the lobby and bar of the Great Neck Inn hotel. Newly added, a sushi bar with Chef Benny at the helm. Yelper Mike S. and I ordered from both menus. We started with the sesame tuna tataki which was a nice full salad paired with sesame seared tuna, avocado, mandarins and crispy noodles. A sweet dressing provided on the side. It was a very full salad and quite refreshing. This was on the MP menu. And we also had the garlic edamame to start, which looked to be tossed in some chili oil and stir fried garlic which was from the Benny's Sushi menu. For our dinner, we shared the sashimi entree which came with 15 pieces of sashimi. Then we selected some choice pieces: uni, unagi, scallop sashimi and a classic yellowtail roll. Everything was fresh and enjoyable. Chef Benny cut and plated our order, very presentable. Sadly no sake on the menu so a draft beer and some Blue Moon was our drink choice. There's a wine list, lots of cocktails and a full dinner menu for the Marco Polo Restaurant which offers "East meets West" style fare. Think steak, ramen, salads and pasta choices. Service was good and our waiter was super friendly. He answered questions and offered suggestions on drinks I inquired about. When prompted for a plate change, he did it without hesitation and swapped them out real quick. He checked in on us a few times during our meal and was sure to pace the plates that came out so we were able to enjoy each portion of the dinner. Dessert options were interesting, think s'mores egg rolls, fresh fruit, cheesecake, and cinnamon buns. Cheesecake was plated simply with a drizzle of strawberry syrup and topped with a cherry.

My sister had the rigatoni, my mom had the salmon, and I had the short rib of beef, which melted in my mouth like butter -- that's how tender the meat was. I came here by myself for lunch today and unfortunately left disappointed. The experience reminded…read moreme why we haven't been back since our last visit for dinner several years ago. I ordered the tofu Pad Thai lunch special and chose the vegetable egg rolls as my appetizer. The egg rolls were good, but unfortunately, the tofu in my Pad Thai did not taste fresh. After taking a few bites of the first piece, I noticed a strange, unpleasant taste. I tried a second piece just to make sure, but it tasted the same, and I simply couldn't eat it. I placed the pieces of tofu I couldn't eat in a small dish. I called the waitress over, explained the issue, and asked if I could please have some vegetables on the side instead of the tofu. She didn't say anything but took away the dish with the tofu. About five minutes later, she returned with a plate of vegetable Pad Thai and explained that the kitchen had remade the dish without the tofu, which was perfectly fine with me. What bothered me, however, was that she subsequently came by and told me that, according to the kitchen staff, the tofu I had sent back was "fine." I found that response dismissive and unnecessary. Whether the kitchen thought the tofu was fine or not, it clearly tasted off to me. I had even tried a second piece before saying anything because I wanted to make sure. I pride myself on not being a fussy diner, and I almost never send food back unless I genuinely find something inedible, which is very rare. Unfortunately, the service throughout lunch was disappointing as well. No one checked on me after my food was served, I had to ask for my water to be refilled, and eventually I had to flag someone down just to get the bill. To her credit, my waitress did apologize when she brought the check. However, I then had to wave down another waitress so I could actually pay it. I had originally planned to order some additional food to take home for dinner, but after this experience, I decided against it. Needless to say, I won't be back.
