So the suggestion that you only now learned which light I was referring to because I sent a video is simply not true. I identified the location from the beginning, and the north-side light I complained about has continued flashing for months despite repeated requests to address it. If there was actually any uncertainty about which exterior light was malfunctioning, I also have to question why nobody simply checked the building at night or reviewed any available exterior camera footage to verify which fixture was flashing. That would have made the problem obvious. At this point, the public responses come across as performative because they do not match what has actually happened. There have been repeated assurances that the issue was being handled on this public forum, while the same light continued flashing night after night. After months of this, I'll believe it is actually being addressed when I see that it has been addressed. Please don't rewrite the history here to make this sound like a misunderstanding about which light was causing the problem.

Finally got called to pick up just the wheelchair with out the power assist and sadly the wheelchair was the wrong color, had lots of unwanted add ons and it was damaged and dented in transit to Norco. A new $16,000 wheelchair! I left that wheelchair and headache of a company behind and called the folks at MSHH Donor Closet. They actually answered the phone and answered my questions. The next weekend I went to visit them. I didn't expect to actually find what I needed. I was warmly greeted immediately. Three different volunteers offered to help me. In 15 minutes flat I had a suitable manual wheelchair in a nice brand for only $85.00. A great volunteer who is a physical therapist named Scott even fitted me and adjusted the brakes on my second hand but new to me wheelchair. I took my new wheels and with my husband acting as my power assist I went to the farmers market in Edmonds and to a Mall. Something I could not do all in the same day if I was walking. I have to start the process of getting a wheelchair with a power assist over with a different durable medical equipment supplier but at least now I have a wheelchair to tide me over. Thank you very much MSHH Donor Closet :)

The owner let me come in after they had closed and so I assumed the owner was extremely kind (not…read moretrue) to help me out (not the case). They sold me on a more expensive knee scooter for my son for camp. The cost to rent was only $50 cheaper than if I had just bought a new knee scooter. It turns out the design of the knee scooter made my son's foot numb and increased the pain he was feeling. The scooter is also poorly designed and tips easily. I was not told about any of these issues when I debated whether to stay with a wheelchair. So one week later, I asked if I could exchange the scooter for a wheelchair since they rent one month at a time and the scooter just wasn't working. They absolutely refused. When I talked to ACCESS Medical at 7612 Aurora, they told me they would have no problem doing this and had trouble understanding why Contemporary wouldn't let me exchange the knee-scooter that wasn't working for a wheelchair. The owner of Contemporary seems to lack compassion, seems to be out just to make money, is not interested in genuinely helping those who are disabled. We are on a budget and paid $150 for the month and can't afford another $150 to rent a wheelchair. I recommend you go to ACCESS Medical on Aurora becuase they are a much more compassionate operation

"Where IS this place", I breathlessly mouthed to myself as I shuffled across the pavement…read more Feeling my ankle wheeze under the pressure of my awkward gait, I squinted through the drizzle at a Soviet-style brick building. It looked like a stunted barge that purposefully beached itself to be scrapped. Instead, they put offices in it. I shook off the rain and limped like a lame dog into the main passageway towards the elevator. Startled, I caught myself in the mirror looking like hell having worked a marathon week in the office. ::thump:: The elevator drops a few inches and hesitates, realizing I didn't give it a command. My knee groaned like an old tree... Realizing that I too didn't know where I was going, and that I once again forgot the name of this place, I looked around and pressed the G button... for garden. I slowly descended into the dark cargo hold trying to make myself look less homeless in the mirror. The office was quiet and warm. I was now having fleeting flashbacks of a ship I once explored while in Russia. The giant receptionist desk dwarfed the chairs in the waiting area, which made my debilitated knees feel like they were right against the desk. Another patient walked in and sat unnecessarily close to me. I could see him looking at me in my peripheral, maybe ascertaining if I was indeed without home. I did what any good Seattleite would do and ignored him, frowning deep in profound thought. I saw candy canes in a basket, which reminded me of my late father who suffered from type 1 diabetes and had lost both legs. My mind flipped towards my own immortality and my genetic predisposition for diabetes. Halfway through the delightful candy cane, I worked my cramped left hand across a clipboard filling out paperwork. I was called back and met the owner, who was cheerful, friendly, and in way better shape than myself. He sat me down in what can only be described as a 1930's lobotomy chair. I couldn't stop playing with the levers and knobs in wonderment. I saw a painting of a ram that made me ponder if I could handle staring at it while on mushrooms. On my way out I felt good, refreshed even. I looked to my right and a secret door had appeared which lead right outside. Shuffling up the steps, I was thankful I didn't have to look into that mirror again on the way out. As I clumsily thrust myself back across the parking lot, I kept looking back towards the Soviet ship, trying to shake the feeling of that ram in the painting watching me. Waiting... perhaps in that chair. Anyway, I totally recommend these guys. if you're looking for orthotics in Seattle or prosthetics in Seattle. She and I were left to our own devices to figure out how to set armrest height, remove the foot rests, decipher the owner's manual, and to peruse a blank delivery form saying that NSM would do all these things for us.
