I used pro team to give attention to my wood deck two times in the last four years. The first time they did an excellent job. I was very pleased. However, when contacted the second time, I was informed that sanding would need to be done and the sanding could wait until the next treatment. Thus, I hired them again to perform the same task that they did the first time. However, within 12 months, a lot of the stain had lifted and was simply not holding. When contacted I was informed that some of this is natural, which I can accept to a degree. They volunteered to return and to do some touch up but indicated that they could not guarantee that it would not happen again. When asked, "what would be needed to do everything correctly?" I was informed that a major sanding needed to occur and to redo the project would cost an additional $1500. Given that I had already paid $900 the first time, this would've brought the total cost to $2400. Had they simply told me that a sanding was needed during our initial conversation, I would've gone ahead and simply hired them at a $1500 rate. In the end, their recommendation that it did not need serious sanding was incorrect. While this company may be adequate for a basic job, it is important that the consumer acquire a well informed and accurate assessment of the condition of their deck before moving ahead. We hired Pro Team Works (PTW) to refinish our deck. They came out to prep the deck, the only thing to note is person doing all the prep was a newer employee who would spend hours sanding one area and minutes in another. It was also extremely hot, and this employee did not have water or any sort of dusk mask; we provided both to him. He was a very hard worker, just seemed to need some direction from someone more experienced. The stain for the deck was sprayed on. There was very little effort taken to mask off areas that should have been protected. We went as far as masking items ourselves. Once the staining was complete, we sent a photo to PTW showing the appearance of the deck which was not good. A rep from Sherwin Williams was sent out to evaluate the deck but she couldn't conclude whether the issue was with the stain or the prep/application of the stain. PTW said they would send a lead tech out to evaluate the problem. Instead of "evaluating" the deck and letting us know the next course of action the tech just started re-prepping the deck when nobody was home. There was furniture on the deck that was shuffled around instead of easily being removed. You can see the screenshot from the video of him spraying the furniture and a photo showing the results. We complained about this and were told a tech would attempt to clean the items and if this didn't work, they would purchase replacement items. We ended up taking the time to scrub all the furniture ourselves unfortunately the chemical used had eaten through the metal leaving permanent stains. A tech did not attempt to clean the furniture any further. We asked that the second attempt at staining be rolled on instead of sprayed. PTW rolled on the stain which led to much better results, however, there were many areas with very little or no stain at all. One might expect a little spottiness between the boards but there was no effort at all to apply stain to these areas. There were so many bare spots we assumed they would be coming back out to finish the job. I emailed PTW to ask if they were coming back out and the response was "After talking to the technician who was out there last week, he said they used up every last bit of stain that they were given by Sherwin Williams. As for the bare spots, can you send pictures of them?". So, they ran out of stain and just figured that would be a good time to consider the job done? I sent photos of the bare spots and PTW agreed that the job needed finishing. Techs came out again to do "touch ups" to one section of the deck. They left a puddle of stain and a used roller on the deck; we did not hear back from them. I emailed again asking if they were coming out again to finish the job. The response was: "Unsure of what else needs to be touched up? Paul was out there himself and he didn't see anything else. He did leave the remaining stain for you if you see areas that need to be touched up." You can see in the photos what PTW considered a completed project. In their defense, I'm sure they would've come back out if we kept pointing out flaws. At this point we had zero confidence that the job would be finished to our satisfaction. PTW first day of work was June 20th, the last day of work they performed was on Sept 19th. Basically, 3 months that we were unable to use our deck and results that were unsatisfactory. We had to buy a gallon of stain; the amount that was left for us was enough to touch up a couple boards. We paid thousands of dollars to have this done by a "pro" and we were on our hands and knees finishing the job. The biggest frustration was the fact that on multiple occasions PTW considered the job done and in no way communicated this to us. Every contractor we've hired in the past does a walk through to go over their work with you when completed. Very minimal communication, zero supervision of techs and their unfinished or unsatisfactory work, and no attempt to verify the quality of the so called "finished" product. read more

Pro Team quoted the repair and staining of our deck last Fall. I asked them to wait until Spring. when we would proceed, In early Spring they called and asked if I wanted to start the project. I'm happy to say they remained within their quote, told me exactly when they would start and when they would complete the project. The deck is sturdy and looks great. read more

While cleaning the windows, the tech noticed some buildup in the gutters for which I scheduled another visit. Finally I just had them pressure wash our deck after putting it off for years and telling myself I would do it. Review from my mother Angela: I have used Pro Team Works in the past to wash my windows and did not have any issues so when I saw on their website that they provided deck maintenance, I decided to use them. BIG MISTAKE! I was provided a proposal for the stain and repairs of my deck-mind you I told them my deck required repairs. Once I signed the proposal, I advised the manager, Doug that I wanted the work to be done the week of July 22nd. I assumed the repairs would be completed before the deck maintenance. My deck was washed and sprayed with chemicals then stained. The guy who completed the staining said someone would be coming in a few days to complete the repairs but no one showed up so I had to call Doug who assured me the work would be complete within the next few days but when the guy showed up, he only completed one repair and said he was done. I pointed out to him the other repairs that were required, he became combative and said this was the only one and said he was going to do them for free. I asked him who owned the company and he said his family. I called the office and requested to speak to the owner but Doug said he was not there but I could speak with him. I told him I would prefer to speak with the owner, he said he would give him the message. I called back within 15 minutes and told Doug the conduct and discussion of the company employee and myself regarding the repairs. Doug proceeded to tell me if I could go outside and look at what needs to be repaired on the deck and let them know that would be helpful. I told him that is what the company should have done when they came to examine my deck and provide the estimate for the staining and repairs. On this same phone call, I asked Doug if he had passed my message on to the owner and now he tells me the owner is out of the country and will not return until the end of August or the beginning of September but he sent him an email. And for this, it took from the week of 7/22 until 8/13 to complete the entire process. It should not have taken this long-there may have been a few days that were not conducive to complete the work-certainly not 3 weeks. I have encountered poor customer service before but what I experience with this company is perhaps the worse. I will never use this company's service again! read more

When they do the job, they do well, but every time (despite having our info in the system) they show up and claim they had no idea what this job entailed. We hired Pro Team Works in early June to wash our windows. After four cancellations, I've given up. Twice they couldn't come due to rain. Fine. The third appointment was on a beautiful day. They were just running late. No other excuse. The fourth time, we were told they would come between 12-2. They called after 3 to say it was too hot. What about a call prior to noon? A check of the forecast earlier in the day or the day before? Last I checked, you can even get a 10-day forecast. Terrible communication, terrible service. Now a full month later, I need to find another company that actually wants to work. read more

Last Saturday Paul came to clean my gutters. He did a lousy job. He spent all of 10 minutes, didn't check the downspouts and left a mess. That's after I asked him to pay particular attention to one of the downspouts that I generally is clogged. He did get on the roof and used the blower to quickly blow some debris. 10 minutes...done, pay me! NEVER again. read more

We had a horrible experience with this company. We came home to find they had hopped our fence as well as our neighbors to gain access to our yard. They trampled the garden and the power wash broke candles on our windowsills. They used our hose and left it unraveled on the ground They had our telephone number. Never bothered to call. My husband happened to have been in the house working and noticed scuffled noises to find them essentially breaking in our closed yard. The owner was disrespectful and took no responsibility. He wanted to take 100 off the bill if we did not write a bad review. Do not use this firm. They send out bill to collections. We would rather pay them directly but they won't accept our payment unless we agree to take down our review of their bad service. Bad customer service, no follow up when they miss scheduled times. They do not know how to apply solid color stain. I had the Paint Store where the stain was bought come take a look, and said it was not done properly. They could tell the stain was not allowed to dry before it go wet, the deck was all spotty. I had to have the deck re-stained just to get it to have one even color. read more

Scheduled an afternoon window washing. Guy shows up and after 10 minutes says he can't do the job because his ladder isn't stable enough for the second story windows. So he leaves. That night the manager calls and reschedules for the same time two days later, saying two guys would come this time, one to hold the ladder. Fine. Two days later I wait and wait and nobody shows up. When I called to request a minor price adjustment, they refused and said it was because the service was performed in the spring prior to tree helicopters coming down - despite never previously advising that this would likely occur. 9/16/15: Horrible experience. No firm time given from Paul (owner) for an estimate...finally comes after 5pm but overall good prices using Angie's List deals and they do everything. Pretty personable guy, I'm pretty happy to work with him. Scheduled for Friday afternoon to clean gutters, add plastic Home Depot gutter guards and clean 34 windows. It rained so nobody showed up...but nobody calls either. Monday morning I call and leave a message. Tuesday morning I call and leave a message. Wednesday morning I call and the owner Paul finally picks up the phone. He was shocked to find out that nobody showed or called on Friday. He apologizes and asks to reschedule for tomorrow. I told him that I want a reliable company to use in my newly purchased home, so before I reschedule I need to understand why nobody called and nobody ever called me back after messages were given. He apologize and said that I must be looking for a discount. At this point I explained to him, I don't want a discount I just want to know what he was going to do to fix this problem of not contacting me back. I guess some people think that saying sorry multiple time is enough, but to me I would rather pay a little bit more for good customer service. We agreed to disagree and went our ways. Don't waste your time - showed up over an hour after the close of their two hour "window" of time to be at our house, and after I had to call them to find out what was going on. Once they finally sent a technician, he wasn't prepared to work, only to give us an estimate. We used this company last year, but unfortunately we will not be using them any more. These guys did a great job on my gutter cleaning! I had clogged gutters on both sides of my bungalow. 2 young chaps came by, got on the roof and were done in 15min. Very poor customer service. I had an appointment scheduled for weeks because I was getting ready for a graduation party. The week before they called to move my appointment from the 8-10 am slot to 10-12 slot. I begged them to please be mindful of the 10-12 time frame because I could not be home after 3:30. I asked them to please make a note that I really needed my windows done that day since I made my appointment well in advance. They told me if they are a little late don't worry they can start inside and do the outside when I had to leave. I did not want this because I like to be around the entire time. So really I should not have been surprised when they called me the day of my scheduled appointment at 10:30 am to say their attendant was sick and they would not be able to do my windows. I will never use them again and I have made it a point to let all of my friends and family know. I am in the Arlington Heights, IL area. read more
