Sunpath Services has been the most honest and trustworthy solar company I've worked with…read more I needed help reconnecting my gateway router to my network, and Aaron initially gave me free advice over the phone. He suggested using an older non-mesh router to provide a constant signal to the gateway. When I had trouble setting it up myself, I decided to call Aaron and Sunpath Services because I wanted to support a company that was so generous with their time and expertise. Aaron came out, quickly reconnected my gateway router to my Wi-Fi network, and made sure everything was working properly. He also provided helpful information on system upgrade options and ways to save money through government incentive programs if I decide to expand my system in the future. I plan to use Sunpath Services for any future solar panel needs and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, knowledgeable, and customer-focused service.

I was referred to Smart Solar Energy by a friend and already had three other quotes when I first…read moretalked to them. Their pricing came in better than the others, and they also threw in a whole-home surge protector at no extra cost. I ended up going with a 12-panel, 5.28 kW system and have been really happy with it so far. I financed through Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union, and my monthly payment is actually lower than what the solar is offsetting on my electric bill, which was a big reason I decided to move forward. I'm also a PGE customer, so I qualified for a $3,500 Energy Trust of Oregon incentive that came right off the price. They also have a pretty solid referral program. It's $500 if someone you refer ends up going solar with them. Overall, it was a straightforward experience, no weird pressure, and I felt like I got a really good deal. I'd definitely recommend Smart Solar Energy to anyone around Portland looking into solar. -Colin

I want to update that review because Portland Metro Electric ultimately went above and beyond to address my concerns. I originally called because I was experiencing flickering lights and was concerned that several appliances seemed to be having problems at the same time. The electrician evaluated my electrical panel and did not find a problem with it. During the visit, he suggested adding a whole-house surge protector as an additional precaution, and I agreed to have it installed. Afterward, I had concerns about the $450 charge for the surge protector, as well as the fact that I wasn't informed about the 3% credit-card fee until I was ready to pay. I contacted the company and explained my concerns. The owner took my concerns seriously and ultimately provided a total adjustment of $450. I genuinely appreciate that he was willing to listen, work with me, and continue addressing the situation rather than simply dismissing my concerns. While I wasn't completely satisfied with the initial experience, I am very satisfied with how Portland Metro Electric ultimately handled my concerns. They demonstrated that they care about their customers and are willing to make things right when a customer feels something wasn't handled appropriately. I'm updating my review to five stars because of the way the company ultimately stood behind its service and worked with me to reach a resolution. I appreciate the professionalism and customer service they ultimately demonstrated.
