Mind you it was the Monday or Tuesday maybe 5 days out and they were like it will cost you 10% of project already started which nationwide had projected to be if I remember correctly was 6000 to 8000. This company won't care about you once you sign the and they have what they want you are considered trash. Plus they will try and sell you a year later on some tax company that will save you money that's all they want from you. Going solar was problematic for me: 1) I live in a townhome and solar companies don't like trying to deal with the neighbor--which turned out to be a problem 2) I have another house in another city with a tenant and I finally had to put the bill in my name to get the paperwork needed. 3) I decided to go with a Home Equity Line of Credit so I ended up signing and canceling the financing they set up several times. I also had a lot of questions about the equipment they use. They were responsive to all my questions and issues. Once the paperwork was completed the installs were both completed in one day. The inspector, who was the head inspector for my area, said they did a great job. As soon as the power company switches out my meter, I'll be good to go. read more

It has taken me months to be calm enough to write this and not to stroke out over the stress this company caused me. 2 flat tires because they never cleaned up after themselves daily. They left screws, nails, hardware, tools, and fast food garbage everywhere when they decided to work. Shoved all this crap in my gutters and they are ruined. Stuff falling off the roof months after they left and it broke my windshield. They wanted me to sign an NDA to pay me back for my windshield replacement. They knew the had ruined parts of my roof! Like that's something shady!! I refused. They ruined my brand new roof the first day by incorrectly installing the safety rails. It looks awful still. They had a "roofer" fix it, but it is bubbled and the first thing I see everyday when I pull in my driveway. I hate it so much. But they wore me down and I let them use their roofer, what should I expect. They still owe us $1500 for switching from a competitor. They workers were teenagers-20ish and (one dad of the kids) that screwed off and honestly I'm scared about the installation. None of their tools were secure while working and drills dented my deck, a pole came down and nearly in-paled my daughter coming in from the back. They laughed while stuff fell constantly off the roof without regard for anyone below. Oh, and we were sold American panels, but got lied to, they are not. It was the only reason we switched , I was insistent on it. I would have never switched and they knew exactly what to say. But again lied to. Some of the panels are not where they were supposed to be, so I assume lied to again. We were never even shown if and how they work until I called in anger over them ignoring my practically begging calls for them to get the stuff out of my overflowing gutters. I called at least 15 times over 6 months with no answers. I had to beg over and over again for anything to be revolved, and it's still not. They stole our money for switching, ruined my brand new roof. I spent 2 days with no car to get my tires fixed, on the day the first flat happened I was stranded unable to pick up my kids! IMAGINE NOT BEING ABLE TO PICK YOUR KIDS UP DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE. They dropped a bunch of screws in my gravel driveway and left them! I spent 4-6 hours digging through it! Only so a few days later they dropped more crap in and another flat tire! Then another day to get my windshield replaced. They agreed to pay the deductible, but brought a NDA for me to sign too. Like only a shady business deals with that! I told them how offended I found this. Even the worker sent to bring it was disgusted by it, and didn't blame me. Never sign an NDA. The last two that came to get the crap out of the gutters months later we're ok. They were shocked at how bad everything was. They showed us how to look up energy use, we were told nothing and couldn't ever get them to call us back. oh and when the owner finally after begging multiple times did call. He was a jerk, uppity. asked why I didn't have cameras recording them, when the workers were rooting through my garage where they need not be and sitting on my husbands 1960 Jaguar bumper. I probably spent more time cleaning out my gravel of screws so I could stop getting flat tires, then them actually working. Ok, blood pressure is high now from typing this, I swear I have ptsd from them! If they would of paid us back or even called us in a timely manner,or treated us better, I probably would've been not so angry. I am the nicest person in the world, but they turned me into an angry witch! That's how far they went, and I didn't even type out the bathroom issues. Took a break to calm my blood pressure! They didn't have a portable toilet, used mine repeatedly and I had to replace the seat. I was extremely uncomfortable having unknown men in the house by myself. I am very much traditional in that sense and I am angry to be put in that position. Get a freaking PORTA POTTY!!! I've never had a crew arrive without one, unless it's a one day job! OSHA rules should be followed, especially since I live rural, company too cheap to take care of their employees. Grown men shouldn't have to ask for permission to take a poop at a strangers house! Of course I let them, I'm not a bunghole! Oh, these photos don't have the FULL BAGS of parts that were left shoved in the gutters, I let them take those back. And they left early one day for a windstorm and left a ton of crap, that fell on my chickens, and my chickens also ate some of the plastic off the electrical wires they threw down when cutting it. Use a trash can! I spent 2 hours every night cleaning up after them! Oh, and I just found a review on google that was from an employee, (photo) see untrained people on your roof! My home's solar installation went in a couple of weeks ago. The installation guys did a great job. They were courteous and professional!! The installation took them the better part of a whole day. The panels look great on the roof. I believe they raised the Curb Appeal level drastically. We decided to go solar a couple of months ago. We had been exploring the idea and decided it was a great investment for our home. We wanted to take advantage of the current 26% tax break on solar systems available for 2020. We also wanted a reputable company with a history of taking care of their customers. After doing some research online, we decided to go with Nationwide Solar!! We schedule an appointment to meet with one of their Solar Consultants. After submitting our power bill,to customize a system designed specifically for our home, the consultant was able to prepare a proposal for us. After comparing our current payment over the years we realized it was way more affordable to go solar. We decided to take advantage of their 12 month No payment No interest financing. Their sales person came to my house and reviewed my electrical box , roof and how much shade I have. Adding that Cowlitz PUD rates are low he was honest and said he does not think it is good investment. The roof of my house had many sections and I have many very large trees that shade my roof most of the day. Was very refreshing to not get a hard sales pitch. Plus a person with integrity that choose not to sell me something just to get the sale. read more

We had solar panels installed last September. Before the installation, we were given a drawing with placement for the solar panels. However, when the installation was completed, they had not placed ANY panels on the front of the roof (that would get the afternoon/evening sun). On the sketch we received, there were supposed to be panels on the front portion of our roof as well. So, instead of capturing solar power for the entire day, we are getting it for approximately 2/3 of the day. We feel very mislead and would really like Nationwide Solar to finish the job. We have made numerous phone calls and left messages and we have not heard back from them. I would not recommend anyone use this company. We paid for it, but didn't get what we deserve. read more

I wish I had come to this site and looked at the reviews. Apparently the problems we are having are very common for this company. They took over 7 months to install our panels. So it was summer when they started and it was almost summer again when they finished. What was the big problem? They had to send a guy out to turn it on. After calls, emails, and finally filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau they sent a guy out. 3 months later the panels are out again. So 3 weeks later they send out a tech who looks at it and says, yes your panels are not working. We'll send some one out. I kid you not, it took them 3 weeks to send a guy to tell us they aren't working and they will send another guy who will actually fix it. Now 3 weeks later and the summer pretty much over they just called again to say they are not going to be able to send their repair guy for another week. How can any company be this incompetent? If you want to go solar, find a different company. Any company besides this one. You will spend hours on the phone arguing with them to get them to do their job. The panels won't work, and good luck getting them to fix them. read more

After several weeks of back-and-forth texting with the sales person, I would neither choose Nationwide Solar NOR RECOMMEND THEM to anyone considering solar. I requested - and never received - a quote on a ground-mounted system. Consumers need to be aware that ALL solar panel inverters generate radio frequency (RF) noise. A solar installer can do things to reduce the potential for interference to licensed services - which include ham radio, AM/FM/TV broadcast, and public safety radio systems. I specifically requested a quote on a ground-mounted system to increase the distance between my antenna and the solar panel system. With only 10 feet of separation on a roof mounted system, the potential for interference was too high. Instead of acknowledging my concern and proposing add-on noise suppression components, Nationwide Solar demanded that I sign a liability release absolving them from any RF interference. When the suppliers of solar panels and inverters set the expectation that they will only support an INSTALLER, this kind of agreement would leave someone with next to no recourse for any issues. Nationwide could declare any problem an "interference problem" and leave a customer with no solution. I have zero confidence that this company installs the additional-cost ferrite noise suppression cores on the DC and AC cables if they are demanding that I sign a release. Nor do I have any confidence in their understanding of RF noise after "3 hours of study." I've spent more than 30 years dealing with various RF noise issues, and still will not claim that I know everything. Consumers need to understand that if their system interferes with licensed radio services, they need an installer that understands how to install this additional equipment. Combined with what I believe to be over-stated capabilities of solar panel systems (see complaints in other reviews), this is not a company I will chose to do business with. read more

My experience with Nationwide Solar was overall good. There were some hiccups and issues that occurred along the way, however, overall I am happy with this company. Pros: The Sales Manager we worked with was exceptional. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and available to answer questions. It's a lot of information they give you in the first few meetings, so whenever we did have questions, we were able to text or call him and he was quick to respond. We appreciated working with him. They did a good job installing the solar panels and the actual installation process went by quickly. Cons: It took a long time from start to finish. By the time our system was activated, we were well into September. We had lost all the really sunny months we could have been generating our own power, which was a shame. Our panels were initially installed in mid-August but because of some very minor changes the city wanted them to make, we had to wait another month before they would make those changes. Then the modifications themselves only took about 10 minutes, max. The biggest challenge, however, was our Program Manager. She wasn't very responsive, nor was she understanding or helpful when it came to our frustrations around the long wait times. Fortunately, the Sales Manager was always helpful. Otherwise, we would have felt completely alone in the process. All in all, we are glad we went solar through this company. read more

We had our Nationwide Solar panels installed June 2023 with the Salesman promise we would only pay the $150 a month for the purchase of the Solar system. I pay twice as much as i did before in electric and payment to them each month. Contacted them several times and sent them my electric bill and have heard nothing from them. My next step will be talking to mt lawyer. read more

Non responsive once the work is complete. Great when working hard to take your money. They will sell you on your payment but not give you enough panels to cover your power usage and you will end up with a solar bill and a power bill. When you sell your home you will have to pay off the solar loan. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We signed up for solar in august, told it would be installed by October, and it's April--still no solar. Our first agent was nice and attentive and we were always "waiting". Then the phone calls stopped and we had to reach out to them to get updates.No excuse was ever given and we were transferred to a new agent whose was supposed to "get caught up and get back to us," as we suspected the company who quoted us, did not give us enough panels. I told our agent we were looking at other companies and might switch to another company because we'd been waiting nearly 6 months! No reply from our agent so we received another (much cheaper) quote and cancelled this deal. They said "okay thanks, have a good day!" A few weeks late Kyle called me saying we'd spoken and I owed him money...over $4,000! I asked for what, since I still didn't solar panels and no update as to when they would be installed. He told us for CAD design and electrician work--my husband is a contractor and in CAD Design, so we knew $4k was too expensive. Kyle immediately threatened collections and laughed at me when I was taken back because I had never spoken to him before, although he insisted we had. I called back and spoke to his supervisor who want polite and informative, but I told her I needed to do my research. I felt bullied and this was the first I'd heard any of this. It was my understanding that beyond 180 days all contracts are nil and void. I spoke to a lawyer and the city where I live and it took me several weeks to get the answers I needed. About the same time, they sent me an email to collect their "bill" of 4k. They had told me it was for the work they had paid for-- but the CAD and electrician cost about $700 TOTAL!! The rest of the thousands are "cancellation" fees. I'm sorry but these guys had over 6 months to deliver panels, which they did not. Their communication was lacking and they only got back to us when they wanted to collect on their bill. And the new company we signed with...Sunrun...who installed panels at a lower rate and cost in 3.5! It took them under a month and Nationwide is still spinning their wheels. Do yourself a favor and call Sunpower, Sunrun, Earthlight... or any of those reputable companies. We signed up with Nationwide through another small company and they are no longer doing business with them. Go figure. read more

This is the absolute worst contractor I have ever used. I would have rated them lower, but there was not a lower rating. To start, they were months late with the install with no notifications of new date and no return of numerous calls for new committed install date. Once installation did begin, they did not install $50 CT's that would allow measuring actual usage vs production. In a written response to a BBB complaint, they said the project did not call for CT's. (Yes I tried to call to get answers to my complaints before the BBB complaint, and of coarse no return of calls). Then the install failed local inspection because they covered a roof vent. Of coarse, it took weeks to get a crew here to correct the error and then get a reinspection before the install could get online. Now that we have had a few months to see the benefit in our electric bill, the electric bill remains high even though we installed the 2 extra panels over other bids so we would not have bills in the winter months. And yes, No return of a call or a person to inspect/verify the installation. Yes, they got their money and we have not gotten our benefit. read more

this has been a nightmare company to work with. we actually signed up with another solar company that used nationwide as their installer. they are terrible! we signed the contract last year in sept. we finally got installed over last week. the installers just contract witjh company and were very nice. they were frustrated as many items needed for install were not here and then a 2 day install has taken over a week. still need building inspector to come out then final work will be done. they would lie, not return phone calls. refused to let us out of contract as they did not install in contracted length of time. they tried to say it was a supply issue, but i wonder if its more a problem with them paying for equipment, as we got a registered letter from equip co last week saying if they do not pay a ln will be placed on our house! i talked with other solar companies and they have had no problem, have installed all winter without issues in our area and are finishing job with 8 weeks start of contract to finish. this has been a nightmare company to work with. they wouldn't always even return the calls from the other company that we signed with. buyer beware. i would give them a lower star but one is lowest it will go. read more

In January of 2022, we signed on to have solar done at our home and Nationwide Solar was the company used. We signed documents with Nationwide and were ready and willing to get going as soon as possible. It was not until after the brightest part summer had passed that Nationwide finally came to do our solar. Right before that I received frantic and pushy phone calls for me to DocuSign a change order. It was put to me that I was not only getting the same amount of panels as before, but was also getting "upgraded panels" as a "courtesy". Keep in mind that for MONTHS before this my calls and emails to Nationwide went unanswered and no one would tell me anything. Finally the install happened, and I still have proof of this from the crews that I am finding around my property all of the time. It wasn't until I started to remember seeing panels on the front of our home on the engineering that I really started to worry. Alas, no panels are on the front of my home at all and the engineered drawing actually shows one more panel on my roof than I actually have. As of today, they are in breach on contract and have charged me for something that I did not get. I missed the entire summer's worth of production and get no afternoon production with the lack of panels on the front of the house. I asked Nationwide to install my panels according to the engineered drawings and give me a $10k discount for all of the energy I have missed out on and the time and energy I have put in to have to FORCE THEM TO DO THE RIGHT THING. Instead, they offered me six more panels and even more roof penetrations that I started with. Nationwide has chosen not to exercise their right to remediate and stands in breach of contract. I am a retired Solar Energy consultant and had one of this companies salesman knock on my door named Jason that claimed to be the President and Owner of this company, so I listened to his pitch "Lies". This company is a complete SHAM!!! Beware!!! They try to sell solar, saying that you are helping the environment and that after rebates the complete system will be FREE!!! All reviews on Google are by employees or their friends. First off, we are in the northwest and we generate some of the cleanest energy in the nation and pay the lowest prices. Second of all, they lie to everyone by telling them that the system will be FREE after the rebates and once you find out that its not true, you're stuck in a long term finance contract to pay off the $30,000 - $50,000 plus interest on average. They also say you receive a 25 year warranty! Really?, they sell your contract to another company for a profit of $10-$20k and never have anything to do with you again. Yes, there are Federal tax incentives for renewable energy if you qualify that will cover up to 30% of the cost and less than that beginning next year.. Yes, there are State incentives in Oregon, but the energy trust of Oregon barely covers anything and since you have to max out the rebate to cover $4,500 or so on your solar panels, you cant use any rebates to offset any water heaters, HVAC systems, LED lighting, or appliances. Washington state is Maxed out and has NO rebates or incentives. This company doesn't even employ their own installers. You are just a number and dollar sign to this company. Beware of their promises and long term finance contracts. Remember, if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is! read more

we signed up sept 9th 2022with a solar company that contracts with nationwide todo the actual install, at a cost of $70,000 before any rebates. my original company spoke at the time with nationwide. we were told that the solar would be installed either late oct or nov. what we didn't realize is we should have qualified WHAT YEAR! our contract says " we will exercise commercially reasonable efforts to achieve commencement of installation WITHIN 120 days after effective date". (sept 9th) when we called to find out a date as nov started, they told us that our agent " misrepresented" when installation would be. ( even tho i HEARD agent talking to them on phone so knew this was untrue) cust service at nationwide has not returned calls from both my agent or myself. we can't get out of contract and go elsewhere as there is a 10% cxl fee. i called my agent with the original company over 2 weeks ago. he was going to try to get a conference call set up. ( jan 2nd). never heard back from either company. monday i called cust. service with nationwide to voicemy upset and need for a date. it was day 123 at that time. they had received all permits end of oct as we also got a copy from our county, though in call in nov thet tried to say they "just got" permits, which we had rec copy of being sent in oct. i talked to supervisor on monday this week. i expressed how i feel they breached contract going past 120 days without any feedback to us.they saidt hey are now telling new contractions it can take up to6 months to get installed per sup. our contact does not say that. there were no major acts of god, etc to delay. the sup at cust service told me that she had nothing todo with scheduling, but would get back to me the next day (tues) to let me know what scheduling says, and i told her i need an actual date for installation, as i babysit kids at their home and my husb works and would need to get time off. I let them know that if i get no return call, even if the answer was we can give tentative time frame only, that i would be filing various complaints. well, still no response AT ALL. very poor cust service and follow thru. i would advise anyone looking for solar to really vet the company that is to install if not the original company, and get clauses into contract that the contract will be void with no penalities if installation not done in by a certain reasonabledate. buyer beware. read more
