I made the mistake of filling out an ad on FB and got bombarded by calls. Mason took the time to to listen to me explain how that was a mistaken but solar is what I wanted to learn about. (With Clark PUD's 14.5% INCREASE) Another company (I will keep nameless) said I was a good candidate with the east side solar coverage that my house has. Mason with Green Light Solar explaind how my house wouldn't make a good home for Solar. He really cared about me and his reputation not just a sale. I want everyone to know that our electricity prices are going up with more to come. So if your home has the right layout Mason and Green Light Solar will not treat you like a paycheck. Unacceptable warranty service. One of my inverters failed in January, which means 10% of my panels are offline until it is replaced. Mason notified me months ago they have the replacement part, but it has yet to be replaced. I've received multiple "it will be replaced this weekend" notes via Facebook messenger but then the tech never shows up and no one can explain why the repair has yet to happen. Phone calls go straight to voicemail. Emails often bounce. The system is good when it works but keeping it that way has been a challenge. read more

One of the key selling points of spending this much money on a solar array was the warranty. It turns out the warranty is worthless because I've been waiting for almost 2 years to have a couple defective inverters replaced. I keep being told that parts are on the way. Parts are on the way, but as of yet I am still without the working system that I was promised when purchased and the appears to be nonexistent. read more

I had Greenlight come out and do a solar install late 2019, early 2019. Once we got through the paperwork the install went pretty well. The install engineer/tech were pretty good and as long as I didn't have to deal with the Office Manager we moved right along. We ran into 1 big issue during the upgrade to the electrical panel and after talking to the owner it was resolved. I got the solar panels installed and while I did want batteries for the system I was advised to wait a year or two as batteries were fairly expensive. Ok, fine. I'll wait and see how prices look after a while. I reached out again February 2021 requesting information/pricing about batteries. After numerous phone calls and emails I finally got in touch with Angie (Office manager) who said she wasn't sure what type of battery I'd need and after talking to Mason (owner) she'd call me right back. That was several weeks ago, and of course I've emailed and called along with emailing Mason directly. These folks have dropped off the map entirely. I was able to call other companies to get a better sense on what I'd need to install batteries. But so far nothing back from Greenlight. read more

Greenlight Solar & Roofing installs high quality panels (or did), BUT they provide no service, though they promise to do so. They do not return calls, though they promise to do so. Mason, who runs the company, has repeatedly given excuses for not calling me back, and always says I will call tomorrow, but never does. The panels need service, but Greenlight, will not take responsibility. Don't be fooled by the high average review score--notice the dates on those reviews. All recent reviews are negative. They are living off an old reputation. Save yourself the headache and choose a different company. read more

This company installed solar for me in 2021. After problems with the battery initially the system worked well until 2021 when "something happened " while I was out of town. The something resulted in a dead battery which was replaced under warranty after about a year. In the meantime Greenlight Solar was totally unresponsive to my calls and emails and eventually stopped answering entirely. I've also been having an electricity drain resulting in $600-$800 bills for exorbitant unexplained power use. I contacted Greenlight again earlier this year and Mason Kiemele said he would get to the bottom of it. He has done nothing and now his phones are disconnected. Solaredge who makes the inverter which I think is at fault is completely unresponsive as well. It is impossible to get another company to work on a system they didn't install so I havea$48,000 solar system the is marginally functional and continuing to fail. read more

I had a scheduled for first appointment to meet sales person yesterday. No one didn't show up and no phone calls. This indicated this company has no customer service. Think, if something goes wrong of the solar system, do they respond you to taking care of you ? or not? ... This is a good sigh that no business with this company. read more

This company doesn't keep any of its commitments. No warranty support, doesn't return calls, when you happen to catch them the make commitments and then do not keep them. It makes no difference if it is the sales team or the office staff, I chased them around for months trying to get support for work they did 10 months prior and ending up having to pay to have someone else fix it. As to the 20 year warranty don't count on them to be of any help, the whole experience has been a prolonged nightmare - make ratings matter and go someplace else ! read more

How many lies can we tell. I believe that is there moto. I was told we would have a 9k credit from the IRS if we used this company's product. (Not true it was less then 900.00$. I was told that we would receive a 500.00$ check just for signing with them. This also did not happen. We were told that the sales team would give us 50.00$ for every referral, I have referred 3 customers that ended up using there products. (No $ has come my way). The sales dep never hooked up my meter even though I have called 4 times. Use another company. This one lies and uses misinformation to sell you there products. read more

I have been waiting for 7 months for them to submit the proof of installation as required before my system can be turned on. They refuse to send me the paperwork they say they mailed. They give me lies and broken promises, but no action. The state senator and rep have been involved. My next step is a lawyer. read more

If it would let me I've give them a negative 5 star review. This company is awful and dishonest. Greenlight solar & Roofing installed out solar panels and new roof in the summer of 2017. Well, there guys knocked the venting pipe loose for the furnace so it has been venting warm moist air in our attic since then. We had an inspection done because we are getting our house ready to sell and it's covered in black mold. We now have to do a whole new roof. We have had 2 bids from roofing companies that said the ridge vent they used is cheap and when the shingles were secured the vent got pinched off. Also they didn't clear the insulation from the other vents. So they did a piss poor job. AND the shingles have a 50 year warranty and they are already growing algae after only 4 1/2 years and there are some cracked ones. Which shouldn't be happening this soon. We can't get Mason to even answer the phone. My husband tried all day and it went directly to voicemail. Then when he called with his work phone Mason answered with a bunch of ridiculous excuses. Their customer service is non existent! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! It will cost you so much more in the long run. read more

I originally made contact with GreenLight Solar at a Home and Garden show in Portland. I kept in contact with them for about 6 months until I finally moved into my home. I have a relatively large property and had recently installed a brand new roof. After speaking with them, I decided that I didn't want the system to be intalled on the roof but rather wanted a ground based system. This type of installation is a little bit more expensive and difficult because because electrical has to be trenched and an entire Ground Based Mounting system has to be installed, which required strong footings. A roof install is much easier but you are limited to angle and direction of the roof. And cleaning is a hassle because it's on the roof and not to mention it's on the roof, so if you have any roof issues you have to possibly remove the panels to get access to the roof. I'm very happy with going with a ground based system. I can access everything easily and clean the panels easily and no need to climb anything. GreenLight took care of everything. The took care of the planning, permits, electrical, and even setup the appointments for the building inspector to sign off the Electrical permit. They took care of everything! I'm a little bit of a stickler for things being perfect. They came back multiple times until I was satisfied, that the look of the panels was completely level. Trust me, that took multiple man hours of extra effort. Not once did they complain, they simply scheduled staff to ensure I was completely happy. Awesome, Customer Service.....and I mean AWESOME. If I every have any issues, I simply call them up and they will take care of anything. If I remember right, I have a 25 year warranty, so it's pretty great. The Panels and Microinverters were made in Washington. With 40 panels I'm generating around 55 kwh on average so far after a few weeks (Beginning of August). I only had one truly sunny day and the rest was either slightly overcast or so much smoke from the local fires. Time will truly see how efficent the panels will be on average. The panels don't need direct sun to start generating power, but when they are in direct sunlight it makes a huge difference. They set me up with financing, but in reality I only needed it for a couple of months until I sold the home that I moved from. You can use their financing or you can take out your own and use it as a tax write off on a second mortgage. What makes going with solar a great move is the incentives from Washington. I didn't go with a Battery Backup at this moment, but will do that in the future. I'm gong to be home way more often now that I am retiring in this area, which means my power usage will go way up. It only makes sense to take advantage of Solar Power. I couldn't be happier with how the installation went and they way I can access my power generation because of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) either on my computer network or my phone app. Thanks Again to GreenLght Solar! read more

Staff who came to my house was pleasant, and professional; All questions answered. Per Dave, I would have to do nothing, they would handle all the paperwork for rebates. Well, a dozen calls from Angie, and more emails saying they need this, that, and whatever else, it became a bit stressful. I'm still uncertain if I'm getting the state rebate since Angie just kept responding with, "we submitted your paperwork," when I asked if we would getting the rebate (Luckily for me I have voicemails and texts from Dave saying we would qualify with no issue...) 1 star to the technology they use for panels. 1 star for the install team. They knocked out 40 panels in 2 days. 1 star for the followup on the work down, and the initial pitch breaking down what we were getting, and being able to answer all my questions. loss of 1 star for the constant back and forth after I was told I would need to do nothing paperwork wise (I think I'm done providing documents...2 months later). loss of 1 star because Angie could not give me a straight answer on whether or not I am getting the tax credit (50% of the cost is a huge factor of why we went with panels) read more

we got three bids for our solar system and Greenlight came in with the best initial and reasonable bid which I liked, no games!! the other bids started out high, then came down to reasonable,but we went with Greenlight partly for that reason,and The panels were rated better then the other guys. Installation was delayed a bit because of the terrible air conditions from the forest fires, that was to be expected. It's up and running now and so far so good!! I chose GreenLight after interviewing 4 other companies. Why? Their Sales guy Dave was honest! When he didn't know an answer, he said that and reached out to others to get the correct answer. It was a good choice. All of the staff that we have had contact with, installers, electricians and office staff have been great. The cleanup was fantastic, I have only found a few small pieces of wire insulation in the rocks under the new solar shutoff switch. Once I made the decision to go with them, everything was right on schedule for everything that they could control. It only took three days to get everything on the roof and connected, Building Electrical Inspection and PUD meter connection took much longer, but those are out of GreenLight's control. Why a four and not a five-star review? It should be 4-1/2. There were a few communication opportunities that were missed and caused some confusion for me. read more

I paid $32000 for new roof and solar, Me & the wife believe Greenlight sub contracted the roof to a cheaper roofing company to make more a buck (cheesy). Once the roof was installed my soffit in the front of the home leaked at the nails ends they used to secure the flashing under the shingles, they caulked them and left no more leaks so far, but this is supposed to be a 50 year roof so we will see! I don't believe they overhang the shingles right allowing water to suck underneath the ends at the gutter. I believe there is probably substandard workmanship so I will probably have this roof inspected costing me more money. They sent the same people to fix it was probably the issue in the first place. The only person whom is worth anything whom i worked with in this company is Casey our sales rep. he did pay us a visit after it was all said and done, he set up our monitor and told us a Gift card would be sent for our troubles. We never received one Go figure. Management I was dealing with the whole time had lack of correspondence & poor customer service to customers whom are paying this amount for their product installations. We suffered nails in our tire due to substandard clean up I could go on. I do NOT recommend this company. I will have additional panels installed, but not from them.
