Paul's Rv Repair & Accessories

I had developed a leak in the sleeper of my class C RV, and in this unusually wet winter we've just…read morebeen through, I was concerned for the amount of dry rot on the inside of the structure. I was having visions of a financial disaster awaiting me! Today I went to Paul's for my appointment. He and Mark set to work, and in only an hour they had had disassembled the troubled area, cleaned it, reset extra length screws, put it all back together, and sealed it up thoroughly. Its no longer sagging, separating, or open to the outside from inside the sleeper. Its fixed! And all for a cost of about a third of what I'd come to expect from other shops. I even told him that that price was too low! I wanted to put a tip on the bill, add a surcharge to show how pleased I am with the quality of their work. Nope! He felt it a fair price, and I'm happy. I feel at this point that I can trust Paul, an unusual feeling for a single elderly woman dealing with a mechanic. He has strong ethics and he loves his job. He also has a good sense of humor. I'm already scheduled in next month for additional projects on my 40 year old RV, and I feel good about letting Paul's RV do the work for me.

This should be your "go to" for RV help and repair! I brought Paul a 1987 Scamp Fiberglass Trailer…read morethat had been modified quite a bit since it's origin. I gave him a list of repairs needed and he meticulously inspected and repaired all of them. In the process he found an array of things that needed fixed for safety reasons. He spent a lot of time with me explaining everything, He always called me and asked before doing anything that was not on the original estimate. I felt confident in his knowledge and trusted him to be fair (his assistant Linda is also knowledgeable and helpful). Paul probably saved me from a terrible accident by discovering that my Trailer Frame was cracked in 2 places. I now have a very safe and functional RV that I feel secure towing and camping with. I will always rely on him for my repairs.

Ron's found that the coolant was low, dirty & watered down. They did a coolant exchange, but the problem persisted. They had to completely remove all coolant and ran a cleaner through the system. Then they put in new coolant. This told us that the new radiator (from the previous shop) had been filled with old original coolant plus water!!! I highly recommend this shop.

I see your email and I want to address these concerns immediately. Regarding your voicemails, I need to check with the team to see if they were received and why they weren't returned. That shouldn't have happened. I was unaware of it when I responded to your review and appreciate the clarification and feedback.. Regarding security measures, we make every reasonable effort to ensure all doors and compartments on every vehicle left outside are locked at night. Keys are locked inside, and the alarm is set. We're installing an exterior camera system, but it won't deter crime or identify anyone. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in now. I understand your frustration, and feeling of violation. I'm sorry, but what happens when we are not here is out of our control. This is the same as if the vehicle were parked in a Walmart parking lot and items were stolen, parked on the street at home, or if a meteorite hit it at night. Comprehensive vehicle insurance covers that. If it were damaged while we were operating the vehicle, that is a different story. Our insurance covers that. I would suggest filing a police report, we are happy to help with any investigation. Hopefully, more patrol cars may be dispatched to the immediate area. I agree, communication needs to be better, and we take the security of customer vehicles seriously. Thank you for your time, Ryan Syring Owner Ron's Auto & RV / Orchards Muffler Phone: 360.256.7035 ronsautorv.com" After posting my original review, the owner finally responded. Unfortunately, his response was more disappointing than reassuring. While he acknowledged that our calls should have been returned, most of his response focused on why Ron's Auto & RV is not responsible for property stolen from customer vehicles left on their lot. Our RV was broken into while in their possession, and items including camping equipment and our registration decal were stolen. Comparing an RV left at a repair facility for weeks to a vehicle parked at Walmart misses the point entirely. Customers leave their vehicles with a repair shop expecting a reasonable level of security and accountability. What concerns me most is not the theft itself, but the apparent lack of concern afterward. The focus seemed to be on avoiding liability rather than addressing why a long-time customer's property was stolen while on their property. The mechanics may do good work, but based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you value security, communication, and accountability.

Update following the company's response:…read more I want to clarify one point raised in the owner's reply so readers understand the concern accurately. Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.
