I needed engineering on a deck project for my place in Central Oregon. I met with Bill and he went…read morethe extra mile for me and did more calculations that I ever thought I would need.He knows his stuff and the results were what I was hoping for. I couldn't be happier with his work!

It seems like this post should start with a joke. Well . . . What happened when the patio heater…read morewas placed too close to a load-bearing wooden beam? I think you know the rest of the story. We burned a hole into our covered patio wooden beam and we weren't sure what to do. We contacted our contractor, and they said contact an engineer. I found Bill's organization online. BSM Engineering - talk about a professional organization. From the moment we started interacting through email correspondence to multiple telephone calls, to a final verdict on what to do next, Bill was the highest degree of professionalism. Throughout the whole thing, Bill guided me in the process and helped me to understand the complexity of the issues. Add a proverbial cherry to the top of this otherwise phenomenally smooth process; and guess what, Bill didn't charge us a thing. He did the whole thing pro bono. Talk about a phenomenal company. The highest degree of professionalism. The best customer service. An incredibly well trained and highly ethical engineer. What more could you want? I can't think of anything better. If you ever need an engineer, and I know this for certain as far as our engineer needs in the future are concerned, go with Bill and BSM Engineering. You will be 100% satisfied.

As president of the Camas Washougal Historical Society, I would like to thank Lewallen Architechs…read morefor the work they did on the design and completion of the Gathering Place Pavillion located at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum. This was a prolonged project due to the virus outbreak. We had many ups and downs but in the end a successful result. Contracted with Michael Lewallen in August 2019 for an 800 sf addition. Mr. Lewallen made two…read morepromises: "You will not pay a dime more than the contracted price unless you do upgrades". And in the contract the completion date was set for not more than eight months. After paying 95% of the contract, and having to beg for a roof, garage door, flooring, insulation, interior woodwork, concrete, 15 months later he breached the contract. My wife and I had to take out a loan for over six figures to finish, or it would have sat exposed to the elements. He blamed it on Covid, but if he had completed in the contracted time period, Covid would not have been a factor. And again, it was a fixed contract. We checked with other clients, and one couple paid in full, he completed approximately 30% and told them he was out of money, and if they didn't pay another huge sum it would not be finished. They are elderly and have been living in their backyard in a trailer for two horrific years. Two others had similar sad stories. Michael Lewallen, I believe, underbids, gets you to give a huge down payment and agressively bills each month. I am quite sure he uses your money for other projects, or whatever. If you even think about doing business with him, ask for referrals and talk to customers who have contracted for at least six months. Several of our sub contractors either had a hard time getting paid by Michael Lewallen or had to come to us to get paid - after we had already paid Lewallen. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MICHAEL LEWALLEN.
