We burned a hole into our covered patio wooden beam and we weren't sure what to do. We contacted our contractor, and they said contact an engineer. I found Bill's organization online. BSM Engineering - talk about a professional organization. From the moment we started interacting through email correspondence to multiple telephone calls, to a final verdict on what to do next, Bill was the highest degree of professionalism. Throughout the whole thing, Bill guided me in the process and helped me to understand the complexity of the issues. Add a proverbial cherry to the top of this otherwise phenomenally smooth process; and guess what, Bill didn't charge us a thing. He did the whole thing pro bono. Talk about a phenomenal company. The highest degree of professionalism. The best customer service. An incredibly well trained and highly ethical engineer. What more could you want? I can't think of anything better. If you ever need an engineer, and I know this for certain as far as our engineer needs in the future are concerned, go with Bill and BSM Engineering. You will be 100% satisfied.

We met with several architects & designers before choosing Erik to do plans for an extensive…read moreremodel. We chose him over the other candidates because he had experience with multi-unit residences, his style meshed with ours and we felt as though we'd be able to work with him over the long haul. The city building officials had also worked with him in the past which was a bonus. He's worked with us when revisions were needed and so far we're all still speaking after the year and a half it took to get the completed plans. He's a busy guy so the plans took much longer than we initially expected but we're pleased with the plans we received. There were some big surprises along the way -probably due to our inexperience with this process. When you don't know -that you don't know-you don't ask the right questions. And that's where my only feedback would be: there's no such thing as too much communication. I'm confident Erik will continue to work with us & the city throughout our building project.

He handled the planning, walkthrough, and free estimates and made sure we understood the entire process before the project started. The actual work was done by Milton and his crew, and they were outstanding. They completed everything in under a week, including a full cleanup. Even with unpredictable weather, they showed up and kept things moving. There was a small mix up with materials along the way, but they resolved it quickly with very little impact on the timeline. While they were not the lowest cost option, we went with them because of their high quality workmanship and the strong warranty they provide. The finished product was worth every penny. I got her as a…read more9 month old puppy, and she immediately made short shrift of my entire, 25-year-old (pretty rotted) perimeter fence. Not a small job, and an emergency one, because she LOVED running around the neighbors' yards. Lucian and his Dad braved the elements on extremely short notice, and built an entire new fence (mostly in the rain) for a great price. They gave me lots of upgrades, like unknotted wood, and thicker footers, and were incredibly fast and efficient. Its beautiful. That should have been enough, but - no - then my about six months later my back neighbors got their own Bernadoodle puppy, and the two dogs decided they didn't want a fence, so my pitty figured out how to pound her head against the boards until they bowed, then get her jaws on the wood, and tear through it. Lucian agreed that metal roof panels attached to the back fence would probably work (either that or an electric cattle fence), so he and his son came back out with the panels, cut them to fit, and spent a day attaching them, which - it turns out - is not as easy as it sounds. Again, quick service and excellent value. This family business, NW Modern, is fantastic, and I highly recommend them. And yes - it appears the metal roof panels are working!
