From the start the project went well. Lee's estimate was fair and reasonable compared to others we received. Lee was knowledgeable and honest which made me feel a sense of relief and trust. Gerry communicated in a manner that kept me up to date on the project. He and the onsite crew worked as a cohesive team and true craftsmen. Our home is twenty five years new. We had a few issues with the original roof which I knew about and a few the crew made known. Another thing to note was that the cleanup was thorough and quick. The crew did a good job in making sure materials were removed from the roof and the grounds. We now have roof that in quality and craftsmanship is so much more than what it was originally. Got bids from 5 other roofing companies - this one wasn't the cheapest but they had the best story. Roof looks good and I hope it'll last. A few hiccups along the way (blasting music at 3am from their truck parked in my driveway, I stepped on on of their roofing nails (ouch!), and this oddity in the upper rain gutter where it unnecessarily slants making it look horrible. I realize gutters need to slope to drain water, but this one is extreme and looks stupid). Would I recommend these guys? Maybe. Update: Clear Vision finally sent a crew out to fix the small section of rain gutter with the unusual slant. So kudos to them for following up albeit weeks later. (BTW, I also asked for a bid to paint my house : they provided a dollar quote but didn't send anyone to talk to me about what I needs or what service they would provide. I was determined to get four bids for a project this big (financially). But after meeting with Lee Nielsen at ClearVision, I told my wife, "Dang! I really liked him. I really don't want to get any more bids." I kept 2 of the 3 remaining appointments with other highly-rated companies on Yelp! the following week but eventually cancelled the last one the week after that because I felt most comfortable with Lee. If you're fortunate enough to get him for a bid, you'll see what I mean. Sometimes you really like the salesperson who comes out but then don't like the installers/company. I'm happy to report that was not the case. Everyone was great to work with. They even offered to remove a tall (20ft?) bush that was leaning precariously towards my gutters/roof after the job was done. They cut it down, chopped it up, and hauled it away (not part of the bid). Who does that?! I can be a pain in the butt because I ask a lot of questions and need a lot of reassuring (making sure everything goes right, getting everything I was promised). Lee was so patient with me. Awful customer service and follow up. They came out to bid my job- roof treatment and cleaning. I was told that they were backed up and would get me in the system. They replaced the shake roof with shingling on our two-story home. We had five estimates, While they were not the lowest, they were the most thorough and informative. They began work about two weeks after we signed the contract. Two workers started promptly at 9 and ended around 7. The installation took 4 days, partly due to the fact that they had to lay a plywood base. They did a very good job in clean-up...even blowing leaves that were apart from the construction! When the work was done, they sent a supervisor out to examine the finished product. We noted that they had failed to install intake vents on the garage and they sent someone out within the hour to add the vents. Very dependable and professional, I don't usually give 5 stars to anything but, in this case, they delivered. read more

They did not fix the problem I paid them to fix. I had a leak in my roof. They looked inside where the leak was, and said I needed an expensive new roof to fix the leak. 3 years later, (under warranty), the same spot I paid good money for leaked again. While (eventually) responsive, they said it was not their responsibility as it was not a roofing issue, (flashing in a chimney that isn't really a chimney), and told me to call a chimney/masonry company. The first person I spoke to at Clear Vision was quite rude and abrupt. I then asked Anthony at Clear Vision, if the leak I called them to fix wasn't a roofing issue, why I'd even paid for a new roof if it wasn't going to fix the ONE thing I needed and requested. A masonry company fixed it, but the next year it is now leaking again, through my kitchen cabinets that are now warped. I am now lost on who to even contact if it's not a roofing or masonry issue, do I just demolish and start fresh?!?! Either way, there is zero reason they should have even fixed my roof, if it wasn't going to fix the leak I paid them to fix. read more

It hasn't rained since they finished my new roof yesterday, but I have full confidence I no longer have to worry every time there's a downpour here in Oregon. They sent a 3-man crew and finished the job (half a roof) in a day. The men were courteous, professional, and thorough. They (the workers and the office staff) stopped and asked questions along the way to assure they did the job according to my plan and their estimate. Working with these guys was a total privilege. They were lowest price around and did not mind me asking a billion questions. They actually used the same materials/warranty as another company which came in a full 10-grand about their quote. I was impressed by this. My wife would want you to know that these guys were fantastic to work with at our house. She works from home a few days each week and these guys were so respectful, careful to follow up and clean up. They were fantastic. We only found two nails around the property after the completion of the roof, and those were not on the driveway. But two out of "how many" was great. They communicated immediately when a board needed replacing. First the workers talked with me about that and within five minutes I heard from the project manager getting my express permission and the exact cost that would add to our quote. The salesman, Abraham, was great. Based on his presentation and promise of excellent customer service my husband and I agreed to have Clear Vision replace our roof even though it was not the cheapest bid. After the project began we had problems with the roofers repeatedly. Their empty water bottles were strewn in our garden. We found many dozens of roofing staples and nails, roofing pieces and sharp metal trim pieces, one of which almiost cut the bottom of my tennis shoe in half. The salesman promised that since our skylights needed to be removed during the roofing process that they would be thoroughly cleaned. We had to have a call back to accomplish that. As well, our two floored attics were strewn with sawdust, nails and staples. We were not told to tarp those areas. When we requested a clean up it was scheduled, but during a phone call with the project manager he indicated twice that they did not owe us that service and that it was costing them time and money. I found the project guy rude, condesending and unprofessional to say the least. To be clear, we never asked for a discount or the return of any money. All we wanted was a job well done. We have had multiple construction projects done in our home and have never encountered problems in the past. read more

Then I talked to Justin from Clear Vision. He was easy to talk to and showed me 2 different roofing options. What really impressed me was that he didn't try to upsell me. He actually told me that I would still have a great roof if I went with the standard (and less expensive) option and he explained why. I've reviewed on Home Advisor and Google, so this may be a repeat. But having had roofer woes in the past, this experience was so great that I wanted to make sure others could understand that getting a new roof can be a great experience. So here's the review: One of the things that most impressed me about this company was the constant communication and updates on the timing of our project once we agreed to do the job. These guys run a business the way it should be run. Rather than trying to convince me to go with the more expensive roof, they tried to get me to choose the right solution for my home. I felt like my best interests were at heart. In fact, we did experience one hiccup, with an area of the roof leaking before the job was completed. The crew came out the next morning (we discovered it late at night) and spent several hours making sure that the roof was covered until they could return to finish the job (ice and snow caused delays). When the leak left a tiny bit of damage to the interior ceiling, they offered to fix it before taking final payment. Stuff just goes wrong sometimes--that's life. It's how they handled it that impressed me. I've not had that experience with contractors often. The roof looks great, the crew was extremely polite, and they cleaned up after. So an A+ experience in my book. I have already recommended them to friends. read more

Highly recommend! Quality work, fair pricing, and high level of service. We recently contracted with Clear Vision for new fiber cement (Hardie) siding and trim for our whole home + paint. We had quite a few bids from other contractor (from top of the top to bottom budget) and I was impressed with Clear Vision. When Phil came to give an estimate he was very knowledgeable, gave great advice, truly listened to what we were looking for, and gave us a very fairly priced estimate. Then when the work started, the crew worked quickly and with quality and attention to most details. Carlos was on site every day managing and the crew and he was THE BEST! Very flexible when we asked for changed, paid attention to detail and quality assurance ... just over all Carlos made our experience with Clear Vision TOP NOTCH! The paint crew (using Sherwin Williams super paint) were also great, very open to the specifics I was asking for . Lastly, when the final bill came around I was pleasantly surprised that it was exactly as quoted! In general I would assume for a little variance. AND there was some extra work we added to which they said to not worry about and were included without charge.
